HPG60-445DX Black LCD screen

Windows10 tried to upgrade two of my laptops. It failed on this one but ever since it tried I lost the use of my laptop LCD screen. I can hook up an external monitor and all works fine but the laptop screen doesn't appear to exist anywhere.  I did a hard reset, I updated drivers that appeared to be the ones related to it and the ones the system allowed me too, I tried changing display settings and it shows the one in use as the laptop projector screen eventhough it isn't. After one of the driver updates I got a blue screen for awhile but then did not get it back when I tried again.  Did the attempt to update take away a needed driver or something?  The other Dell laptop I lost use of that laptop screen as well. So I have two laptops that have to be used as PCs with a wired monitor until I figure out how to get them back.  HP Assisstant had no answers and diagnostics shows nothing wrong with anything.  I have a NVIDIA Graphics driver, which updated fine.  The only monitor shown though is the external one, as if the laptop screen does not exist.  Ideas anyone??  I want my Windows 7 back on the Dell too!  I do not like it!

Hi! Recently my laptop is working fine with the standard display driver. But when i update the display driver, it causes system crash when opening other applications and restarts my laptop. I updated my standard display driver to Radeon (TM) HD Graphics with an Intel HD Graphics. How can I fix this problem? What causes the laptop to go BSOD?

Display backlight bleed

This laptop is a Best Buy Blue Label, configured for sale exclusively by Best Buy.

The price is right for the included features, but we're very disappointed in HP's QA measures. This unit should never have made it out of the factory.

Right out of the box, the display suffers from severe backlight bleeding in both lower corners of the display, so obvious that it's plain for anyone to see.

Screen resolution may be 1920 x 1080 Full HD, but Netflix and Amazon HD videos are not as sharp or as bright as the same videos at the same resolution on my 3 year-old 15.4" MacBook Pro Retina Display.

Backlit keyboard is either off or on, and on is far too bright, with bright light leaking around the chiclet keys, clearly visable and distracting.

We want to like this computer.  We're tempted to simply exchange it for another.  In addition to our MacBook, we have a 13" HP Pavilion dv3510nr bought in 2009 that has been faultless.  But with our new HP Envy demonstrating such an obvious flaw in the display, we wonder what hidden flaws might manifest themselves weeks or months from now if we were to purchase another.

This purchase represents a perfect example of why one shouldn't make a purchase of this type from an exclusively online seller. At least, with Best Buy we have a big box store where we can return it.

Hi,

I bought this envy 15 x360 laptop, and I want to use it to take note. But I don't know whether the active stylus is compatible with my laptop, and if compatible, does it provide palm rejection function. I tried search online and there is no answer for envy X360. I am in Canada and there is no in stock active stylus I can try in stores.

Any idea about this?

Thank you

The cursor is there, the touchpad works enough to move across the screen, but everywhere it goes, it's creating the box that allows you to like choose multiple items on the desktop.  The left button does NOT work at all.

Is there something that will work to fix this, or am I stuck using a mouse forever?

Thanks!!

Pavilion g7 Display Issue - Would Plugging In Audio Cable During Startup Affect The Display?

$

HP Pavilion g7, bought new in 2012. The laptop had been closed and powered down for at least 10 hours overnight. I powered up my laptop and as it was powering up, I noticed my powered external speakers were unplugged, and plugged them back in to the 1/8" audio output jack on the laptop before the sign in screen came up. As soon as the log in screen came up, I could see the display was not working correctly. The screen was distorted, the colors were off, and it looked like the resolution and size were not normal, and were distorted. I signed in, and when it went in to my desktop screen, the resolution and sizing were totally off, some icons at the top bar were at the bottom, the entire resolution was off to the right hand side where you could not access certain areas, a 1/2" or so wide green bar was about three fourths across the bottom of the screen.

I immediately powered down and did a restart. I did not unplug the power cable. There was no difference when it powered up again. After checking resolution settings and size settings, everything on those settings was where it should be normally.

I powered down again, but this time when it was off, I unplugged and disconnected the power cable, as well as the audio cable going to the external speakers. I waited several minutes, reconnected everything, powered back up, and it was back to normal. Everything so far for the last few hours has been working as normal. I even tried powering down and restarting again, just to check, and everything cam back normal. No issues.

My question is, obviously I'm concerned about the display issue that occurred and do not want it to happen again.

Could this have been caused by me plugging in the cable for the audio as the laptop was powering up, and as Windows was starting up, instead of waiting for the system to be fully up and running? Or is this another issue that may have caused this to happen?

Thanks.

Touchpad not working

The touchpad on my Zbook stopped working.  I went into mouse properties and noticed that the tab for the Synaptics Touchpad had disappeared.  I tried installing drivers for Synaptics in Windows 7 (what I'm running) and it says i have newer software than what I'm trying to download and to uninstall that before installing the download.  The control panel says the device is working properly and plugged in.  Can anyone tell me what to do?
