I have a hp laptop it's an oldie i never used that much i had it in the box sealed, until now i decided to boot it up so that i can use it for storage of documents, pictures etc. Well it won't turn on. I tired everything like reseating the ram, etc. Yesterday i decided to take it all apart because it wasen't displaying anything. So i disected the whole thing. It has a amd video chip a turion 2 cpu a western digital 320gb, 2 sticks of ram, i took off everthing then i installed everything back. And nothing. No display. Also the led lock signal shows nothing. When i turn it on it turns on the fan is spinning, the hdd turns on, there is an oragne wifi light on but no display. So then i said well i will detach the whole screen off. And use it without the screen and use an external monitor. i used my lcd hdtv. no display. then used another computer monitor with vga. no display. what the heck! what is the problem? Is it the video card? do i need to desolder the card?
by the way this computer is a pavailion g6
My Wife brought this up to me, she is a macbook user and has been using my x360 for the past few weeks as she left her macbook at her sisters house. I asked her to tell me some of her thoughts and this one seemed like it was something small enough for someone to fix, but big enough to be a noticeable quality issue. (I plan to cross post this to microsoft)
She noted, when used as a tablet in tent form if the screen is allowed to go to sleep upon waking the device the screen comes back on in the proper orientation (bottom of screen toward webcam), flips over to what I will call laptop orientation (bottom of screen toward keyboard), then realizes its in tent form and flips back to the proper orientation. What this does in effect is make the wake time, from the time you press the button to wake the computer to the time when it is usable, much longer.
It would be nice if the orientation would persist properly through sleep mode, even if the orientation changes btw going to sleep and waking the device it is much more acceptable to have it wake and flip once rather than wake and flip twice.
One of my people has a Z book 15 G2 and the touchpad stopped working. The light in the top left hand corner of the touchpad is off and will not come on with a double tap. In the Mouse properties the Synaptics device is there and reports that it is working properly. There is no Device Settings tab in the Mouse properties. I see that tab on other laptops and I can enable or disable the Synatpics device there, but on this machine there is no device settings tab. I have downloaded and installed the latest Synaptics driver for this laptop but that did not fix it.
I've seen people fix this particular problem using USB adapters and installing a driver for it, but for my part i'm using an HDMI adapter, so here it goes:
I'm trying to use 3 monitors (my laptop screen + 1 VGA + 1 VGA using an HDMI adapter), but my computer only let's me use 1 of the monitors. When I plug one in, it works, but as soon as I plug the other one in, it won't work.
I went to the screen resolution control pannel on windows 10, tried everything, but like said, it only lets me use 2 displays: the other one is always "disabled" for a reason I don't know.
I went to AMD catalyst center, and the same problem persists: when I try to activate the 2nd monitor, it says to disable one of the other 2 displays.
If you need more information let me know, thanks!

My laptop had cahnged into tablet mode, and now it won't go back to desktop mode. I can no longer close tasks, I have to go back until I find what I want. I also save things onto my desktop and like to see them there. I don't know how to change back to this and it is stressing me out, I can't live off a tablet. Plus instead of a desktop all I see is a binch of apps that I do not want to see. Please help soon.
Finally, a new release--no--a new working release of the 'dual' graphic setup drivers for the ProBook 450 G1 Model has been released! I've been using it for a good while now and finally feel comfortable posting about it.
Find the ATi one here http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=5405166&swItemId=ob_154962_1&swEnvOid=4059
The Intel Control Panel from April is just below it.
Happy gaming! Diablo 3 runs just fine if not better than before upgrading.

The mouse on my laptop has disappeared! I can start the pc and get to the screen with the date and time but can't get any farther. I do not have a touch screen!
Envy 17.3 touchscreen is my first laptop. Notice at start-up when screen is black, backlight visible at the 4 corners where the viewable display meets the bezel. More noticeable in top right corner. Is this acceptable, normal?
Thx
I am using a HP PROBOOK with Windows 10 (64-bit).
None of the Fn + Function keys work (i.e. fn+F8 for battery, fn+f9 for brightness down, fn+f10 for brightness up).
What is the magical combination of HP applications and drivers that will make these work for me?
Thanks!

Recently installed a couple of updates from HP Support Assitant application on my wife's laptop. One of which was a bios update. After the typical reboot the laptop does not recognize an external monitor via HDMI cable. The laptop recognized the monitor before the update and reboot so I believe that has something to do with it. Monitor displays perfectly when connected to another windows 10 laptop.
Like everyone, been having the problem of updating my hp DV9000 series (dv9500)
laptop that has a Nvidia 7150M graphics card. Updated my system to Windows 8
and couldn't find a driver that would install the card to work with Windows 8 64bit system.
Days, Hours of scouring the internet and trying drivers after drivers then finally hit
the right one that installed perfectly and directly (didn't even have to used the
compatiblity method) it just went straight in and reboot the pc and driver was install
and "WORKING" PERFECTLY!
But who cares! The video card works perfectly FINE, quick and lightening fast.
No blinking or flickering or stalling...they could call it "Bart Simpson" in the control panel...
as long as it works perfectly fine I don't care! Further reseaching, I found out that the
Nvidia 6150 uses the exact same chipset as the Nvidia 7150m and that is why it shows
that way in the control panel and why it installs! I don't care one way or the other.
The video card works with Windows 8 64bit system and not one problem after
days on youtube, amazon, ebay, yahoo, google , and anywhere else I surf. Programs like
Nero Vision10 video editors, Corel, Magix video editors, PowerDirector video editor.
Microsoft Office WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT and others
I'm not a "gamer" so I can't speak to that issue
Nvidia Geforce 6175 - Resolution 1200x900
search this hp forum or site for
Nvidia Geforce 6175 - Resolution 1200x900
and download sp42635.exe
tried to past "direct link" into this post but it wouldn't allow it...
It will install into windows 8 64bit system without compatibity check nonsense
and works perfectly fine! That's all you want, right!
Hope this help others and spare some aggravation!
Hello everyone. I have an HP laptop (around 2,5 years old - Granted, it is aging )
The thing with it is that I can no longer adjust the brightness on the screen, meaning it is stuck on full brightness all the time. Now that's pretty rough on the battery, which is a vital thing for me due to my studies.
I've had the issue one time before, which was fixed with a GPU driver update from AMD's website. Unfortunately, this time an update did not do the trick. I have tried to find official firmware via HP Support Assistant, and via HP's website. I can not find anything on the website manually, and the automatic scan comes with an error. HP Support Assistant claims all drivers are fully updated (Which I know at least the GPU driver is).
I am running Windows 10, where the brightness have worked before, but randomly stopped working.
The product number of my PC is E2T51EA#UUW and my BIOS version is F.35 (11/11/2014)
I hope any of you can help me out!
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards - Mads V.
This is a new laptop and all the function keys ( ie F1, F2 etc) had the secondary functions of screen dimming and volume controls on them. Suddenly the buttons and their secondary functions stopped working. I cant access the BIOS cause the F10 key doesn't work. Is there a keyboard shortcut that i can use to activate and deactivate the keys.
