HP dv6t 1200 MediaSmart app won't play blu ray dvd's. Keeps wanting me to check for updates
Application just keeps asking to check for updates. Whether I select yes or no it displays that the disk is ready and to just press play to begin playing. Disk just wont play.

Pavilion DV6t Quad Edition won't detect external monitor
Hello:
My Pavilion DV6t Quad Edition will no longer recognize my external monitor, connected via HDMI cable. I've tried a different monitor with a different cable, but no success. Used to work fine, then just... stopped. It won't even detect that another monitor is plugged in.
I have the Nvideo GEforce GT 630M 1GB and the Intel HD Graphics 4000.
Would love to get my external monitor working again and also be able to connect to the tv again. Please help!

Pavilion G4-2029WM Colours looks washed out?
Hello, first of all I want to thank anyone for viwing this post and attempting to help me-
I recently bought a new laptop, the precise info for it being "HP Pavilion G4-2029WM AMD A6-4400M Dual-Core 2.7GHz 4GB 500GB DVD+/-RW 14" Win7"
It works great and is overall wonderful except for one little issue- that being the colours sort of look greyer/washed out/ umm... dull? Is there any way I can fix this or is there a setting to adjust the vibrancy and NOT brightness/gamma. So far, toying with the Calibration does absolutely nothing...
please help, I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place or I'm coming off as oblivious

Battery on the blink, is it causing sudden black screem?
My battery is just about done.

I keep getting a blank screen.
Until I set all power saving settings to "never", and I mean ALL settings. I would get the screen after a while. Is it going to be the battery causing this as I am loathe to buy one if something else is bust?

No driver update for Intel HD 4000 in over a year. How come?
Hello. I was wondering if someone could tell me why an updated graphics driver for the Intel hd 4000 chipset hasn't been released in over a year. I noticed on the Intel website the driver for the non-HP version of the chipset has been updated numerous times over the last year but the HP-specific chipset driver hasn't been updated since September of 2012.
My pc is an HP Envy Dv7-7255dx
OS: Windows 8 x64
CPU: Core i5 3210M 2.5 Ghz
Chipset: Intel HD 4000
Driver version 9.17.10.2857
Driver Date 09/12/2012
Intel's most recent update of the HD 4000 graphic driver is dated 11/27/2013, version # 15.33.8.64.3345 but I guess that driver is incompatible because the driver in HP laptops has to be the HP-specific version.
If anyone has any info on why the HP Intel driver hasn't been updated in so long, please let me know.

Pavilion dm4 (Windows 7) - Switchable Graphics Died

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470
For the past year, the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 is always on, and I am unable to switch to Intel HD Graphics.
If I open Catalyst Control Center, nothing happens when I click on Power Saving GPU. In addition, Intel HD Graphics does not show as an option in the drop down menu (see below).
However, the device manager shows both devices, and gives me the option of disabling both:
I have a manager friend who works on graphics issues for Intel, and he advised that I download and reinstall the Intel HD Graphics driver from the Pavilion dm4t-1100. I've done so, and when I try to reinstall it, I receive this message:
Not being able to fix this killed my battery, and I want to get this fixed before I kill another one.
I read in one fix that I may be able to roll back a device driver to get this working. Is that a possibility for this situation? If so, which of the two devices do I roll back?
Any other suggestions?

Eliteboook 8460p update for video BIOS
I have Elitebook 8460p with discrete ATI graphics. In BIOS while examing System Information I spotted a line that says "Video BIOS Date ATI 07/20/11".
Is there any recent update for video BIOS? My regular BIOS is the latest at this moment (F.42). I found nothing on Elitebook 8460p driver download page.

HP Pavillion Dv4-2164us LCD Screen question
I have a few questions, My HP Dv4-2164us Laptop's LCD Screen seems to be dying, I have it narrowed it down to at least 2 possible issues my Inverter or the bulb in it or the whole LCD Screen itself. Because i think i have it Narrowered down how would i be able to narrow it down to just one issue?
Question 2 after i am able to narrow down my issue(s), How much would it likely cost to fix it or them?
Question 3 Would it be better to save for a newer model laptop if it turns out to be more then just 1 issue?
I ask these questions as i type using my Insignia HDTV as my Laptop's monitor at the moment and would like to know if there is any other possible fixes that i don't know about too.
It would help if you have had this simlar issue before when answering back too. Again i am able to use my HDTV and my HDMI Port as my HP Pavillion Dv4-2164us's Monitor and it makes it look as brand new otherwise, It is just my LCD Screen seems to be dying or is just messed up before you ask anything else.

Disabling vari-bright in hp pavilion g6
How to disable vari-bright in hp pavilion g6?
1) I can't see vari-bright option in the Catalyst center.
2) I have turned off adaptive brightness control
3) I have selected "maximum performance" option everywhere possible.
I am unable to find the "vari-bright" option anywhere. Please respond quickly and inform me how to disable that feature.

HDMI Output
I have a HP Pavilion g7-1279dx and the HDMI output stopped working. When I used to plug a HDMI cable into the computer, it would automatically detect it and change display settings to duplicate monitor. Now when I plug it in nothing happens and when I change display to duplicate monitor, still nothing on the TV. I tried reinstalling the graphics, chipset, and audio drivers. The sound playback in control panel is missing the HDMI output, and I would like to know how to get it back.

Expensive Notebook - Video Card Driver NOT Upgradeable!
Dear HP:
When I pay over a $1,000 for a notebook and its specs say it contains an AMD6700m video card, I expect to get exactly that. Apparently you do NOT agree. You have modified the AMD6700m video card in the Pavilion dv6-6047cl laptop so that it is NOT recognized as such and the standard graphic drivers from AMD CANNOT be used!
What a bone-head move! What were you thinking? Did you think this "untruth" would result in customer loyalty and customer satisfaction? I suggest you rethink that philosophy.
Provide a software fix to return the graphics card to full AMD6700m functionality and driver upgradeability or recall the product and install a genuine AMD6700m video card.
