Hello, first off I know absolutely nothing about computers so please be patient and kind :)! I have had this laptop for about 4 months and the screen is black. It is a hp 2000, when I plug it into the tv the laptop works fine so it's just the display but when I hit the brightness button f3 nothing happens! It has been this way for a few weeks and my kids use it for homeschool so need it working! Today I noticed faintly some of the windows 8 apps in the background which I had never noticed so I am thinking the brightness is just turned down! But I don't know how to get it back! Please help!

HP ENVY dv6-7226nr Notebook PC docking station
I would like to utilize 2 external monitors for this laptop I just purchased.
I can't find a solid source that will tell me what docking to use or even if there is one available. Also is it possible to run 2 external monitors?

i just bought the hp split 13 x2 and its my first hp product...today i recieved the product and i left charging for both the keyboard and the screen since both has its own battery life but somehow it just wont turn on....either im doing something wrong or it came messed up idk

hp envy dv6 video memory allocation
i bought an HP Envy dv6 notebook with the A4-4300m APU. it came with 4GB of memory, i switched that out for 8. now that i have more to spare, i want to allocate more to the GPU. i couldn't find a way to do this in windows 8. i went to the bios, i discovered i can change no options at all in the bios. i'm flabbergasted.
any way to change how much memory the integrated GPU uses? every other laptop i've ever known had a simple slider letting me allocate more memory to graphics. why doesn't this one?

blank screen external monitor working, power button reset works first time
Hi Everyone,
I'm on a HP dv5t-2000 laptop (product: WE847AV) running Windows 7 and am having some problems with my display. I'm not a huge computer wiz (hence me posting on this forum), so I'm not entirely sure what information is relevent/necessary.
Here's what happened:
A few days ago I was doing some hardcore graphic design (pretty visually/computationally). I shut down just fine until the next morning, I tried turning my computer on and the display was blank. There is still a backlight, and I can connect my laptop to an external monitor via VGA and everything works fine. I ended up doing the "hold power button with battery out" reset trick and that fixed my problem on the first try (although it took a while for the image to pop back up).
It was working fine for probably a day or 2.
Last night I was doing some more computationally/visually heavy graphic design and everything worked fine. I shut down normally. This morning, my screen is blank again (backlight still on), external monitor still works, but the power button trick does not work anymore.
Does anybody have suggestions on how to fix this?
I did some research and it seems like all computers break eventually, but because I was able to fix the problem the first day with the reset, I am thinking that the problem may not be a hardware problem at all.

(3M Cache, 2.53 GHz), Windows 7 Ultimate and Intel (R) HD Graphics driver version 8.15.10.2189. In your keyboard has a sticker that states that he is prepared to Intel WiDi. How do I activate Widi, for use with an Actiontec ScreenBeam kit?

G7-2002 sleep mode
Recently, after updating the Intel HD Graphics Adapter to the latest version, 8.15.10.2712, I found that the display on my notebook computer with 64-bit Win 7 no longer comes out of sleep mode, although the rest of the computer appears to be waking. The display flashes dimly for a moment, but the display remains dim, even if I using the f3 key to try to adjust the brightness. Has anyone else had this issue? I am considering reinstalling the previous driver, which is still available.

hp 6910p laptop, will not display full screen
I have a hp 6910p, did a fresh install of vists business 32 bit. I have done all the updates and drivers from hp. Device manager shown no problems exist. Problem is I cannot get full screen display, this laptop has a wide display. I have one inch black on left and right. Graphics are good and unit works well. I can't find the proble!

replacement screen pavilion dv6 notebook pc
the border surrounding my laptob screen cracked at the bottom and since that happened my screen would turn white if once turned on, I would have to press on the bottom of the screen to get the picture back, I want to fix it but I am unsure of what part/s I would need.
I checked the parts list and there were two that look like what I need but I do not know if I need one or both of them

no screen.no HDMI out.no VGA out. And not getting any flashing codes
On start up all is normal except no screen. I have pulled and reinserted the memory cards. Tried the hard boot. I have also hooked up the HDMI to my tv and tried an external screen with no results. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Video Screen Black
I bought my computer a few weeks ago and have not been able to watch any videos. I have Windows 8.0 so I understand Adobe is already built into the system. The sound works perfectley fine but the screen is completley black. Dosen't matter what I try to pull up facebook, you tube or from my cable company and try to watch a TV show throught xfinity I can not see any video. Any Ideas?

thinking it would only be around 80 or so bucks but its about $200 and Im wondering why? I have a ASUS gaming computer,17' screen, and its no where near that value. Any ideas?
