I have an HP Envy 15-j000ec (product number: F1D38EA#BCM) and I want to buy an external monitor for work (graphic design). My graphics card should run 3840 x 2160 but I only have an HDMI output and I can't find anywhere what version do I have and what is the maximum resolution output. Can you please answer me the question?
Can I run monitor with higher resolution than fullHD via HDMI with my notebook?

I have connected my 8560w to an external monitor via an Advanced Dock. My monitor allows me to switch between two sources.
I intend my set-up to be my future desktop so virtually all my activity will be on the 8560w and the monitor.
Can I safely run the 8560w for longish periods of time with its lid closed? I have been into Control Panel/Power/Choose What Closing the Lid Does and set sleep on battery and do nothing on power.
Is there a heat issue? Or any other adverse effects?

So my laptop will turn on but the screen stays black. The screen is on but nothing happens. It just stay black/blank until a message that says "selected boot image did not authenticate" and tells me to press enter. The laptop then turns off. I've tried taking the battery out thing and I can't get it to start in safe mode. I've also tried bringing up the BIOS setup menu by pressing f10 repeatedly but it only loads the writing in the bottom left corner even after pressing f10 for 5 minutes. How do I fix this?

i have a problem with my laptop "HP Pavilion dv7 // B1M26EA#ABF".
As i'm playing computer games on my notebook i need a good graphic card. Instead of the "Intel HD 4000" as i have in the notebook i would like to turn on (force) the other one which is the "Nvidia GeForce GT 630m 2GB".
I literally tried everything and still not working.

I have an HP Envy dv6 Notebook PC, when I plug in HDMI cable I can get video but no audio. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I see no settings in the sound section to set as default or change from internal speakers, I can only see internal speakers.
Hi, I've read many posts on this subject but haven't found anything similar to my situation.
I installed Win 10 and chose the obliterate everything option because I wanted to start anew. Everything went well and the touch pad works EXCEPT the advanced features such as scrolling.
When you look at the Control Panel --> Programs and Features, the Synaptics Software Icon is missing. (In Win 8.1, I could open a Synapics program and adjust the TouchPad.)
If I go to the Device Manager, the Snyaptics HID driver is there and updated per HP support Assistant. I tried uninstalling the driver and reinstalling, but no change (strangely, the touchpad worked with the driver uninstaled).
I checked the Registry, but there are very few Synaptics entries (3 or 4) leading me to think the Synaptics Touchpad program is missing.
The Synaptics website does not offer any downloads that HP doesn't offer.
I thought I would be able to download the proper program, but maybe I was mistaken. I use a mouse, so this fix isn't critical, but it would be nice to fix it.
Any ideas?

I just buy Hp Envy x360 m6 but i have a problem when i flip my keyboard to use as tablet. Keyboard not stop to working thats way i can not use my notebook as tablet. Randomly pressing the keyboard buttons.
Normally as i know when i flip, keyboard must be diasble automaticly but it is not working. Please help me.

When I try to connect my Spectre x360 to a 4K TV (Vizio m60c3), I find that the TV screen will turn black intermittently (about every 10 seconds continuously) as if the computer is disconnecting and reconnecting to the display. Changing the refresh rate has no effect.
However, if I change the resolution to 1920 x 1080, then every seems to work fine and I don't experience the same issue.
It seems like others online are able to drive a 4K display, so I'm not sure what the issue here is.

I have a HP 15-f004dx Notebook which has been upgraded from a 1ghz e2100 to a10-5745 quadcore. Looking to upgrade my panel on the laptop from the current one. not many guides onlinbe about AMD related hp notebook lcd upgrades. I have purchased a 1920x1080 panel which fits perfect but i just get screen light up with nothing on it. was told i need a cable but not sure where to start with the cable? any help on where i can buy a hd cable or the proper cable would be GREAT!!
I dropped my computer a few days ago, cracking the digitizer but not the LCD screen. The display is still fully functional, and I'm debating whether to shell out the money to get it fixed or just either do it myself or ask a local shop to do so. My questions are:
1) Do I have to dissect the laptop to replace the digitizer, or is there a simple way to just pull the digitizer off the LCD display and replace it?
2) Will doing this void my warranty? Especially if I don't have to actually unscrew anything, and since the display isn't covered by the warranty anyway, would it void the warranty on everything else?
3) If I do go through with it, what's the model number for the digitizer, and are there instructions I could follow?

My wife bought an HP 248 G1 laptop, she wan't to adjust the brightness of the screen by using FN function keys..
She noticed that all FN function keys are not working.. we tried to modify the BIOS and didn't work, also downloaded the support assistants didn't work either..
Pls help, laptop screen is too bright giving us eye stress.

I tried using my HDM1 cord to project my sceen on my tv but I kept getting this message 
I recently took my notebook back to factory setting. (I've had it for 23 months, purchased new). Then upgraded to windows 8.1. When I try to play DVD I receive a message from Cyberlink Power DVD: MPEG-2 video support is not available for this product. You can upgrade your product for MPEG-2 video support. When I click on "learn more" button, it brings me to a webpage where there are newer versions of cyberlink media software available for purchase. I've turn my notebook off and on and still no change. Please assist. Thank you.
I can no longer watch youtube videos on my Probook 4540s running Windows 10 if I use Edge as the browser. Videos are fine with Chrome and Firefox. I have Intel HD Graphics 4000 and Radeon HD 7650M graphics. Both show in Device Manger but I can find no trace of Catalyst Control Center. It seems to have been removed. It has been suggested that I should install the chipset and graphics drivers from the HP web page, but Device Manager says my drivers are up to date and they are dated more recently than those on the HP download page. Should I replace my current drivers with those on the HP download page?

I have a Flatron 1960TR monitor which is connected to my tower desktop. The monitor dates from around 2007 and has two ports - DVD - I and 15pin VGA. The monitor can switch select from/between these two sources.
I want to keep the monitor connected to the tower through the DVD - I port and I also want to connect it to my 8560w via the 15 pin VGA on the monitor to the 15 pin VGA on the advance dock.
I have a 15 pin cable connected but I get an analog signal in the monitor when I switch...
Does this mean that the dock 15 pin VGA will only allow an analog output?
Any thoughts?
