Hello.
I bought my laptop around August 2012. A week ago I updated my laptop OS to Windows 10 x64 from Windows 7 x64. Then, I did a clean install of Windows.
I received nearly all driver software via Windows Update. However, the driver I received for my graphics card (Intel HD 3000 + AMD Radeon HD 7450M) is faulty.
Under Device Manager, the AMD graphics card is referred to as "AMD Radeon HD 7000 Series" instead of "AMD Radeon HD 7450M" (the way it was called back on Windows 7).
On product website on hp.com, where I used to see a big list of all downloadable drivers specifically made for this computer, HP only stuck a label reading "Windows 10 drivers may be downloaded via Windows Update."
Running in fixed graphics mode, AMD is displayed with a yellow exclamation point in Device Manager (I tried updating, but it says I've got the latest version). I cannot disable Intel's card or else I get stuck with 800x600 resolution.
In dynamic mode (the one I'm used to work on), I used to set which app uses which GPU via Catalyst Control Center. However, now when I do that, if an app is set to run under AMD GPU, it will never start. (It will allocate ~30 MB into RAM - visible via Task Manager - but won't open main window.) If I change the GPU back to Intel, the app runs, but under limited render capabilities.
I use AMD Graphics extensively. Not being able to use it causes big productivity issues for me. Are there any possible solutions for me, besides rolling back to Windows 7?
