When i turn on my laptop the screen is black but the VGA output displays the desktop. My only light that is on is the
wi-fi key and the power key light. I do not have the fashing caps button light, as some people do. When i switch or replace Ram and restart the laptop, then the display works until the next restart. If i download and re-install the video driver the display works until the next startup. It seems if i do anyt major changes to the laptop i get the display to work untill the next start up and then i can not get the display to work again. Also if i flip flop any of the memory boards the display works everytime. Hope someone can give me some help. I just need the display to stay on all the time.
I start up my laptop and it goes immediately to a display that looks like the screen is broken or cracked, but there is no damage. This just happened; there was no impact on the machine. It was working fine; I shut it down and booted back up a couple hours later and this is what I got. I can tell the machine is booting up, but the display remains static. If the video was dead, the screen should be blank, correct? Connecting to an external monitor via the HDMI port displays just that; nothing at all. I have never seen anything like this before.
Hi,
I have HP Probook 4530s with HD3000 and Radeon 6490m...after 3 years of using it, my radeon card is not working, whenever I try to install any driver, during installation the screen goes black...when I install it in Device manager and restart PC the screen is also black...I must disable it in Device manager and use Intel in order to see something on my screen....now I have even formated my HDD and reinstalled windows but the problem remain on both win7 and win10...what should I do?
Hi there,
Few days ago, I bought the Spectre x360 special edition with Intel Core i5-6200U, Intel HD Graphics 520, 8GB RAM, 256 GB SSD, FHD screen.
I found that the lowest brightness setting of the laptop to be too bright, blidingly so. This is especially apparent when I compared my laptop screen to other spectre x360's at John Lewis and Curry, where their lowest brightness level is a lot lower, and the maximum brigtness appear to be the same (I can still change the brightness level of the screen, but not to any level where you would call it dim).
I have already installed all updates including BIOS, deleted and reinstalled intel graphics drivers, and even reseted windows, but nothing has changed.
Does anyone else have this problem and have solution to it? It seems the high brightness level is heavily affecting latop's battery life, as usually, I can only get 5 to 6 hours from it, a lot less than what reviewers and other users reportedly get

I am using Windows 7 -32 bit , when i play video from any Media player, or from Youtube screen blinks.
Windows 7 32 bit . driver not available on hp site. i try

I have HP 242 G2 Laptop with Windows 7 32-bit operating system.

Hello!
After over 3 years of usage of my HP 8560p laptop and an upgrade to Windows 10, I fear that there is a graphics hardware failure:
After a "crash of my ATI graphics driver" the screen went colorful with blocks and I had to shut down my laptop.
Now the display stays black at booting. When I connect an external monitor, the boot screen shows there and windows boots. Sometimes even the laptop's LCD starts working again. However, sometimes the colorful square blocks and I have to hard shutdown everything (especially after the laptop went to sleep, then I sometimes see the color blocks on the external display as well)
I have some questions:
product no/ L1S91EA
pavilion 15-211ne // Win : 10 , 64x
the problem here is my screen light and i mean here the sides light ( right and left), the left side has more light than the right side but just a little different
and if i increase the screen light the problem becomes obvious nd noticable and i have to decrease it to reduce the different in the lightness between right side and left
so now i have more light on left side than the right side on my screen, i tried changing the gamma and brightness in intel display control panel and removed the driver and reinstalled it and installed the intel 5500 driver (43)
i removed the battery and used only AC power and changed also the gamma in windows color window . i used laptob in both dark room and light
my laptob is 2 months old and im not sure if this issue is new or was on from the first day i used my lap because i didnt use it a lot
There is one verticle blue line on the right side of my Laptop HP Envy that is running windows 7. This Laptop is a fairly new product and it surprises me that it is already having problems.
Thanks,
Bobby B
I am having issues playing tv shows. A few minutes into the show the video slows down and the video and audio don't match. The audio will continue as normal but the video skips. It happens on all sites - hulu, netflix and different tv network sites such as E!, CBS, USA.. etc. This is very frustrating. I have made sure to have all new drivers installed as well.
Hello,
I'm currently having this graphics issue with a HP Elitebook 840 G1. Here is the specs on what I'm using.
Specs:
HP Elitebook 840 G1
OS: Windows 7 32bit Professional
Hard Drive: Samsung SSD 840 Evo 120G
RAM: 4GB
Display Driver: Intel(R) HD Graphics Family
My work around this was to reboot completely for the glitch to disappear. Attached is the screen shot of the issue I'm having.
Hey.
i got some problems with my WebCam.... the computer can "find" my WebCam when I try to skype and the only problem I know is that det whit light dos not light. it happend after I upgraded for Windows 10
My new HP 17-g121wm lapatop keeps changing font size. I have noticed this is a problem with others. The fontis currently so small it is very hard to read. is there a solution?
my backlight went out,
can see video from external monitor.
ordered a new screen.
same - no backlight.
tried a different screen.
same - no backlight.
reseated the RAM, and the video cable from the MB to the LCD screen.
tried a different cable, not a direct replacement but same connectors.
same issue.
Could it be the display connector on the motherboard. Or maybe a stupid question.
is there a setting to turn off the backlight (I doubt it)
Is anyone else having this same issue?
Hello I am trying to run the Gopro studio video editing application and in order to run it properly my computer needs to run Open GL and after some research the issues Im having are related to that.
I was just wondering if there was a driver I would be able to download in particular to be able to run that software, or if this computer is at all capable of running it.
Thanks
Hi
I'm trying to connect my laptop (Elitebook 820) to an external monitor (HP Compaq LA2306x) and am not getting any signal through the VGA cord. I know the problems sits with the laptop because I have used the same monitor and cord with another laptop and it connected automatically.
I thought it was something to do with my function keys not working so I downloaded hotkeys support from the HP website. This fixed some but not all of my function keys (the sleep, screen brightness and F4 key still do not appear to be working). Not being able to use the F4 key may be preventing me from being able to connect to the external monitor but I don't know what else to do to fix it.
Can anyone help me with this? I have seen elsewhere on blogs people talking about BIOS. I have no idea what this is but perhaps that is also a problem?
Thanks
Hi I have been trying to determine the HDMI port version of my HP ENVY 17 j073ca laptop however I could not find any info on it. Could anyone help shed some light on this? Thanks!
