My hdmi output is not working. Before i got the update for windows 10 it worked perfectly fine now ive tried connecting it to the tv and it would show no signal. Ive tried using different cables and nothing has happened
I still had the brightness control issue on my HP Pavillion 15 notebook PC;
suspected it was something to do with the AMD graphics driver;
I opened the 'Device Manager' app, and noted that the driver had stopped, due to some error code ? there was some kind of caution symbol next to it.
so I 'right click' to update the AMD Radeon(TM) HD 8610G driver.
After which, the F2/F3 brightness control started to work.
I'll give it some time, to check if the fix is permanent.
The problem is due to a bug in the graphics driver.

Long story short = Installed Windows 10.. its garbage. Major power and sleep problems made mobile computing impossible. Next, Win 10 was unable to restore back to Windows 8.1 and crashed. Had to use HP recovery to wipe hard drive and reinstall from scratch.
Since using the HP recovery, Im working in Windows 8.1 again but I am having video issues. All my drivers are up to date according to HP Support Assistant and windows update.
In device manager under display adapters I have:
Intel(R) HD graphics Family
- and -
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850M
When trying to play games that had no problems in my previous install of Win 8.1, Im now seeing poor performance. All the software on my computer makes reference to the Intel HD driver in video settings but I cant see any evidence that the NVIDIA adapter is performing to its capability or even active.
Have I missed some critical step that was part of re-installing my system back to Windows 8.1?
I feel like Im working with a half broken laptop. Im not a complete novice at fixing windows problems but I never had to do the recovery before.
Any advice?
After I updated to windows 10, the brighness was all the way up. I pushed the buttons on the keyboard to turn it down, but nothing happens. Usually, there will be the scale saying the percentage.
I'm trying to repair a friend's HP Pavilion G7-2022US laptop, product number B4Z74UA. The laptop boots up into Windows 7, but the screen is dark even during BIOS or POST.
Symptoms:
Laptop turns on but LCD display remains dark (during POST and when Windows loads)
Using a flashlight on the display reveals that the video is present but the backlight is not working
Video is visible on an external monitor connected by VGA cable
What I've done so far:
Installed a new LCD display cable
Installed a new LCD display
Updated BIOS
Updated graphics driver
verified that the lid close switch is working (small magnet in the display bezel that signals the motherboard to turn off display when lid is closed)
Discharged static by keeping the power button depressed with battery and power adapter disconnected
Checked if RAM might be bad
I've tried all of the above solutions, but the screen still remains dark. The only way to use the laptop is to connect it to an external monitor. I've disassembled the entire laptop and there is no inverter part to replace.
I don't know what else to do. Any suggestions?
I have a 2009 laptop that runs great, but when I tried to run the webcam on it says it is turned off. It is built into the computer. I have tried using device manager but it is not in the list. Any ideas?

good day, i have a Hp pavilion dv6-6156ea and a while back whilst powering on my pc i noticed all my keyboard leds came on but my screen didnt, no boot, no logo, no backlight...nothing. I waited for a minute and eventually heard the startup tone and after that i restarted it a couple times to see if the problem would continue and so it did. I've tried hard resests but no luck until buying an hdmi cable and trying my external monitor, (TV) and thats been working till now
i need help with solution and if replacement needed, help locating
specific parts
So like the title says part of my screen on the left side, its a perfect rectangle to so I know its not a crack. Also it only happens if I tilt my screen a certain way, if I tilt it slightly more or less it fixes it. I'm thinking it might be a loose LCD cable. How do I go about fixing that? Unless there is another explaination for it.
Hi all. Laptop turn on, but screen remains blank? It starts off full white and then eventually goes black. I have done a hard reset, but it has done nothing. Unfortunalely nothing shows up, so I can't use the laptop :-(
After upgrading to Windows 10 and from a cold start, initial brightness is dim and requires a restart to obtain a brighter display. There is no brightness control in the display settings of settings and the function keys F2 and F3 are inoperable. I have attempted several fixes, which I have found on different forums, but none have been successful. I have installed all updates and drivers but to no avail. Thank you
Black Screen on startup... caps lock light on as well as wifi orange light, any help ?
