Brand New 15-ac121dx and screen broke in 2 hours

I purchased a 15-ac121dx from BestBuy (never again) and 2 hours later the screen showed a crack which got larger.  I broughr it back the next day and they told me it is my problem - they are not liable.  The unit worked 2 hours and was not used harshly.  It is INSANE.  I am literally in tears at this point.  Best Buy said to contact HP.  Clearly they sold a defective product but they don't care.  (I am filing with consumer protection bureau and will scream from the streets if I have to to warn others of their bad business practice)

 

Is there anything HP can do?  I looked into a replacement part to get it fixed and they are charging $966 for that (the unit cost $400 new 2 days ago).  Is there a repair center in NYC?  I don't even know if this is considered part of the warrenty because it was brand new but I suspect bestbuy sold me the item already defective and once I clused the top it became unusable.  I srill can't believe this happened, I have never seen something like this before.  If the screens are that unstable, there has to be some sort of culpability

Ever since I updated my laptop to Windows 10 it does this weird thing where the blue circle loading thing doesn't go away, it flashes on and of every 2 or so seconds. It has been doing it for about a week now. I have tried restarting the computer multiple times. It makes using the computer very difficult and I have University assignments and exams coming up so please help!!

i got my new laptop it's hp ProBook 450 G2 ,core i7-4510 U ,RAM 8GB ,1T HDD ,intell graphics HD 4400

but i dont know really if i installed the correct driver since it reading only at total graphics memory: 1792 MB only and detected memory is zero and that really too low could tell me my driver is the correct one or no and if not that the correct driver could you give me the correct one and give me the link for the correct intillation for my graphics driver please.

I upgraded my DV5-1015nr (x64) laptop from Vista to Win 7 but am unable to find a 64-bit video driver for Win 7. The relevant HP support page does not offer one for Win 7 (wow!), neither does nVidia (hard to believe). I tried some of the GeForce 9M series packs from other sites but none were compatible. This is very disappointing. Does anyone know if or where I might find a driver for the nVidia 9200M GS/9600M GT graphics card for my DV5-1015nr laptop?

Urgent Help

 

 

I am reposting as the problem has not yet been solved. I upgraded from windows 8.1 to 10 and now I have no control over brightness which i all the way up. I tried few recommended solutions like installing the nvidia and video drivers but they have failed. Please someone help.

Heey. what graphics card can i buy that is quite compatible with my computer. I need a huge graphics card memory. I was thinking of maybe an AMD or Nvidia but before i do that I would like to ask the experts for their opinion.

Hi, from yesterday night i am trying to switch on my laptop but everytime i do, same problem of blank screen appears; it happened when i tried to switch on my laptop from sleep mode

 

Product Model: B6U80PA

Product Name:HP Pavilion g4-2036tu Notebook PC

Product Serial Number: 5CD2184GD2

OS: Windows 10 64bit Home version 

Hard disk: 500 gb

 

When i Boot up, it shows please press Esc key for startup option, after doing that F2 is for Memory and harddisk test, i ran both 

 

Results:

1. Memory test: Passed 

2. Quick Hard disk test: Passed

3. Full Hard disk test:Failed with the error,error image is below. 

 

 

i tried to access BIOS setup by pressing F10, it ran successfully but in that Diagnostic log files showed this 

 

I tried to follow all the steps given in the link below but was not able to do step 4 which is with regard to memory modules, same problem persists after hard reset, BIOS recovery and after connecting to external display

Please help as there is no Software assistance from HP for Windows 10 for which i complained too on twitter, it was always problematic to use the same.

Hi guys. I am concidering buying a HP Envy the same as my friends. i am borrowing his to see if i like it, which i do, however there is a problem that I cannot seem to fix. I have changed the battery options to "do nothing" when lid closes, however the screen goes off and my program cannot run correctly.  I would appreciate your help.

Every time my computer sleeps (closing the lid or just leaving it alone) the next time I try to get on nothing I do will make it respond. The power light is on and solid but the screen is off. It's got a Nvidia GTX 850m running Windows 10 and all the drivers are up to date as I've been trying to fix this for a week now. After I hold the power button and force it off It starts up like normal but then won't wake up once it sleeps. I've tried:
Updating the drivers
Deleting and reinstalling drivers
Making sure mouse and keyboard can wake it up
Restoring factory power settings
Scanning for issues in command prompt

I really don't wanna send it in cause its my baby but I'm open to any and all advice! Please and thank you!

     I  want to change the zoom in Edge to 115%, but it will change only in 25% increments.  Someone suggested that holding down the Control Key and the Scroll Button on my Mouse would enable me to choose the amount of the zoom percent.  I have tried that several times while having the . . . tab open to zoom, but there is no option for me to choose a different percent.   Has anyone else been able to solve this problem?

 

     I had the same problem as many others with the zoom changing unexpectedly while I was using Edge.  I changed the mouse settings for pinch zoom, two-finger scrolling, and three-finger flick; but soon the settings reverted back to those features being enabled.  However, once I updated my mouse driver, I no longer have that problem.

Hi there

 

Have had my laptop just under a year. I used to be able to connect it to my tv no problem at all.

It had to go in for a major repair under warranty a while and hasn't been able to connect to the tv since. I thought it was the tv so I tried it on other tvs' to no avail.

I have read through other forum posts and reset drivers and updated (where aplicable) drivers but still no luck.

I have a new cable just in case but again, same old story.

It's pretty annoying as it pretty much  all I use my laptop for. NEED HELP!!!

I tried connecting my HP s2031 monitor to a new Pavillion Notebook running Window 10 64-bit using a HDMI to VGA converter. The monitor received and displayed a signal once... Now every time I connected it, the monitor says there is no signal even though the Notebook recognizes it.  The settings on the graphics card have been reset to match what the monitor indicates on start up.....

 

The adapter works on a Windows 8 PC....

 

Any ideas?

I currently have an external monitor hooked up via the HDMI port and was wondering if my computer could support a second monitor hooked up through the USB 3 port (using a USB 3 to HDMI adapter).

I have an HP DV7 that has a black screen when powered on.  I have tried all the reset tricks and stuff from other forums.

 

I'd like to connect to an external monitor via the HDMI.  How do I go about this?  It has never been connected to an external monitor before and it doesn't seem like it does it automatically like my Dell did prior.

 

Please advise as to the process.  Thanks!
