Can anyone tell me if my laptop will play BLU Ray movies if I either replace the standard DVD Drive it came with, with a Bluray drive or if I plug in an external Bluray drive?

Black screen on laptop and also when I connect to monitor

0

When I power on my laptop I only see a black screen.  I don't see the HP logo at all.  The harddrive appears to be spinning' I can hear the fan, and the lights on the wireless and caps lock are functional; so believe everything is working fine other than video.  I've tried connecting it to a monitor via HDMI but still get black screen after trying the F4 button.  There are no beep codes or diagnostic lights coming on.  Before I lost video, I had taken the fan out of the laptop because there was a message that it was not working correctly.  Turned out a screw was stuck in there.  I removed the screw and put the fan back in.  Closed everything up and turned on the laptop - no video.  I've tried re-seating the RAM.  Basically I'd like to see if folks think it is the motherboard or video chip that is the issue; in which case I will buy a new laptop as the motherboard costs around $200.  Also if anyone knows if there is a hardware diagnostics that I could run that would perhaps give some beep codes.  I believe that Dell has something where you hold the D button down and power on the laptop to start the diagnostics.  For full disclosure this laptop has been dropped a few times as well so this issue may have just been waiting for the right time to show up.

connecting to my home theatre via HDMI

I purchased this laptop (M5R09UA#ABA) to stream internet content to my home theater system.  I've hooked it to my reciever (it runs all the audio options and passes through the video) through my HDMI port.  I get output as a second monitor on my laptop, but the picture that appears on my TV is cropped on all edges slightly.  I would like to adjust the screen settings on my laptop to compensate, but I can't find a setting in my video display (AMD A8-7410 APU with AMD Radeon R5 Graphics) configuration screen.  I suspect that the problem is the limitations of the graphics adapter on my laptop.

What do I need to do to correct this situation.

missing drivers after update

I have an HP Pavilion dv9720us that came with Vista installed.  I upgraded to Windows 7 several years ago.  I now have udpgraded to Windows 10 with minor hitches.  I have re-installed the video driver, Audio driver and all others I can find.

I have no sound.  When looking at  the device drivers, I find three error messages:

Base System Device with a hardware ID of PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0592&SUBSYS_30CF103C&REV_12

Base System Device with a hardware ID of PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0843&SUBSYS_30CF103C&REV_12

Coprocessor with a hardware ID of PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0543&SUBSYS_30CF103C&REV_A2

Can you help me with the proper drivers?

HP EliteBook 840 G1 - Display Problem with Windows 10

0
0

I've just upgraded to Windows 10 and I have a very annoying problem:

My laptop is 1920x1080 using the AMD chipset (though both AMD and Intel show up in device settings).  Everything works fine until the monitor turns off for an extended period of time.  When the screen turns back on, Chrome (and Chrome apps like Hangouts) automatically resize to what appears to be a 1600x900 resolution.

So, when the screen turns off, the browser and apps are fit to about 90% of my full resolution.  When screen turns back on (after several minutes - this does not occur if I turn the screen back on after a short while), the browser and apps shrink and expand to only the top-left 60% of my screen - as if they are full-screened at a lower resolution.

I have tried upgrading to all the latest SoftPaqs and video drivers, to no avail.  I don't know what is causing this but it means resizing windows and moving apps every single time I return from sleep.  Not good!

Any ideas on how to address? Is this a bug in the AMD Win 10 drivers?

Thx.

Jon

At first I thought this may be a bug so I let the system start completly but the strip is remains on the screen as it is. I have restardet system number of times. Then I came to know something is happenned to display. I want to know the reason and remedy for this. The strip is near about 0.3- 0.4 cm thick. And it is vertical. It is continuesly seen as soon as powered on as integral part of display.

Re: Screen Flicker (Flashing)

I have just bought a HP Pavilion x 2. I have this same issue of the screen flickering, mainly when undocked, but then it will flicker when sitting on the keyboard. There seems no rhyme or reason to it. I also had the problem of the very, very slow battery charge, it stayed on 79% for ages, but eventually it did fully charge.

My product code is: LOB08EA#ABU.

Model 10-K009na.

I tried emailing the technical support but they wanted the warranty number, which I was not sure of out of the myrid of numbers (!)  It must be in warranty/guarantee as I only ordered it from HP 30/8/15 and it arrived a few days later, but they said they could not trace me (!!)

This is my first time with tablet form of computer, not impressed at the moment. I am writing this on a fairly new HP Pavilion 15 laptop and love it (except having to get used to windows 10 from 7), husband has ipad but I really don't like it and was hoping to accept this new tablet technology with intregrating my 2 hp's and windows.

I'm not very technical savvy so please don't bamboozle me with science, but please help, thank you.Smiley Frustrated

intemittant signal failure to external monitor from HP envy

I have an external monitor attached to my HP Envy via an HDMI cable and the external screen only will occasionally go black for a second or two, then come back for a second, then go black again.  It can repeat this several times then be ok again for a few minutes and do the same again.  This used to be only occassional, but now happens several times an hour.

I have tried using a different monitor and it still occurs, I have downloaded the latest drivers, and installed them and this makes no difference.

The machine is still under warrenty, but I really don't want to have to send it away to be fixed.

Any ideas?

Pavilion dv6000 - DV6775us - capable of using dual external monitors??

0

I'm trying to help a friend, she has an HP Pavilion dv6000, dv6775us laptop and she is wanting to use dual external monitors.  She currently has a single external monitor connected via the VGA connection and that allows her to use the laptop as 1 display and the external monitor as a 2nd display.

The laptop also has an HDMI connection built in and I am wanting to know if it is possible or how likely it is that she should be able to connect dual external monitors and extend her desktop across both of them or would this require the use of a docking station?

The laptop has a label on it stating that it has the NVIDIA GeForce 8400.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Hello Smiley Happy, I am new to this HP Community... I having some problem with my game called minecraft, It throws a error called "Pixel acceleration is not supported" and I know it has to do something with the graphic drivers.

It used to work in Windows 8.1, I recently installed a fresh installing of Windows 10 64-bit in my PC and I visited this page to download graphic drivers for my laptop, I was ver disappointed that there were no drivers for Windows 10 Smiley Sad

I would like to if there is a work around or not, I already tried to download the drivers from Intel but they would install in my laptop (I tried both the installer & manually selecting the inf file from device manager)

Thanks in Advance, TD Smiley Happy

Hi,

This is my first post here.

Recently while upgrading my laptop via automatic updates, once of the VGA updates was taking place when suddenly the screen flickered. When  I restrated after the installation was complete the sleep and hibernate options were gone. Added to it I am no more being able to play videos.

I tried system restore but it is not happening. I tried to update it again but it keeps failing.

When I checked the device manager this is what I found. So I uninstalled  both Radeon and VGA and clicked on refresh again and the drivers were installed back, but there seems to be an issue with VGA. please help. I have shared the sreenshot of the same. Even the update driver dosent work.

Thanx & regards.

Connecting 2 laptops w HDMI

Howdy,

I have 2 Pavilion laptops that I wish to link via HDMI cable.

My primary computer is a Pavilion 17, running Windows 10.

My secondary is a Pavilion g7-1219, running Windows 7.

When I click the display key (f4) on the g7, I see four choices for display.

Computer only, duplicate, extend, projector only.

When I click the same key on the 17, I see  PC screen only, Duplicate, Extend, and Second screen only.

When I click the EXTEND on the g7, I get a "change the appearance of your displays" screen, showing 2 monitors, with detect and/or identify as choices.

If I click Identity, I get a big fat 1.

If I click Detect, I get nothing.

On the 17, if I click EXTEND< I get nothing.

If I click DUPLICATE on the g7 OR the 17, I get nothing.

Any ideas?  I'm sure it's something very very simple and I'm just not in the right window to make it all work.  But it sure is frustrating.

I would LOVE to get this thing to work as an Duplicate and/or Extend!
