Hello I just recently updated to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 64bit and few days ago i encountered a Critical Process Died error and had to do a system reset to fix the issue, after resetting and reinstalling Windows 10 i noticed that i lost my ability to adjust the screen brightness and the computer acts as if there is no brightness controls.

 

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the display drivers and updated them as well but still no change, ive also called my tech supports and had them preform a remote assist and had them look at the issue but still no fix was found.

 

I have read several help forums on this site as well and although good advice, still no fixes worked. The f2 and f3 controls my brightness as well as a button in the notification window (which is now gone) as well as the windows mobility center. But none of these are now working.

 

IF anyone has any help or advice on this subject, it would be greatly appreciated. Thnk you

Screen randomly went dim. There is no physical damage. And gray lines coming across the screen.

Hi there, my netbook has a slight problem. Its real resolution is 1024x600 but now it seems that it thinks its now a 1024x768.  If I restart for some time it will go back to normal, but now it doesnt seem to be working anymore.  Hibernating seems to make it stick to 1024x600 but it shut down due to battery problems. The lower part of the monitor cant be seen  and if I use screen resolution to put it back to 1024x600 from 768,  the upper part is just dark and empty. Print screen doesnt work because it also shows as if its normal. So here  is a print screen but I cropped it to let you see what it looks like in my view.

Hey, first of all sorry for bad english. 

 

I've had an issue about my ATI MOBILITY RADEON HD 5470 graphic card when i trying to load up the driver. My laptop operate 2 gpu's, They're intel hd and ATI( switchable ). But whenever i enable the driver for ATI instead of using intel hd, it goes black screen (actually screen shut down itself but system keeps working). Without ATI itself, i couldnt and cant open any game.

 

Is there any actual driver update or any solution for this problem? Please answer my suggestion, thanks..

The display on my HP dv6 laptop switches off after Windows has started, and switches to the secondary display if I plug one in.  No trace of drivers, no device recognized other than Generic display as Display 1 (even though it is a separate screen. 

The display is fine and works as expected in Safe Mode.

When I installed window 8 somehow my screen started to experience some flikr lines, cluttered staff on the screen making it difficult to read anything. I checked around for solution and the much I could dig was that that issue involved something between screen refresh rate and graphics.

 

SO far I upgraded to windows 10, but still that issue has persisted and I can't work around it. Please how can I do away with this.

After install of Win 10, video and audio features began to fail.  Through HP online support product, I was instructed to install Intel High Definition (HD) Graphics Driver - sp72289.exe.  As the installation progressed, I was given this message: This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing software.

 

I could not find information about what the minimum requirements were for the new driver to find out if this is a memory, RAM, or processing issue.

Everything else with the Windows 10 upgrade is working fine.  

I have a Dell XPS that upgraded to Windows with no problems.

 

I will assume that this driver update will solve the problems, but it won't install.

Please advise some options.  Thank you.

I am looking to buy a pair of external monitors and would like to know what external display resolutions are possible with a HP Pavilion g6-1159sa Notebook PC? I plan to use the VGA and HDMI conectors to connect to the two monitors.

I have hp 15 notebook ac024tx laptop with me and it has 2 GB ati radeon r5 dedicated graphics...but in system it shows dedicated video memory as 0 Mb...nd total available graphics memory as 1792 Mb...in device manager both the display adapters are on...what to do...plz help...

Have not used hdmi connections since last year but now they do not work.  Two different cables, two different tv's ( both smart Vizio) nothing works.    Now using upgrade Windows 10 from 8.1 from Vista.  Nothing.  Tested the TV hdmi port with a wireless display adapter and it works. Aparently not miracast enabled laptop because the wireless doesn't work either.   

 

I want to put the B1G (Ten Network) up on the big screen.  Looks like the hdmi doesn't work nor is my laptop enabled for miacast to go wireless. 

 

I've looked at  solutions on the net but almost everything referneces W 10.  Not sure that I am capable enough to deal with bio's and chipsets and the like.  I'd take it in but just don't want it to be gone for however with all my stuff on it.

Help Me Please I have a red vertical line on the left side of my screen. I've gone to bios menu that didn't work. Then I tried to see if i had quick search was enabled, and that didn't work. Can you help me please.

Blue screen appears during start up:

Restore from recovery partition succesfully completed but on first windows starting, blue screen again.

The Integrated Intel Graphics HD5500 reports as blu-ray compatible, (it is not possible to switch to the Nvidia 940M on this machine).

 

But the Windows 10 Intel HD5500 driver reports as being not compatible ???

(Using the latest driver off HP's download site).

I can not change the brightness of my screen: the brightness keys do not work and I can not do it through the Control Panel.

I have this problem with videos I watch ever since upgrading to Windows 10. Prior to that, which was in July, I don't recall ever having this issue, and it's not just Youtube.

Basically every so often green/purple splotches/patches will appear on the video, and often when they go away after a second or so, the patch they covered will then still be showing the frames from when it froze and it creates a broken effect until it disappears a second later. Sound isn't impacted, but I thought it was about time I reported this and found help.

Also my flash player is up to date.

I have a bit older elitebook and the screen went black after thunder.

The computer starts normally, but screen remains dead. I alredy tried it with external screen and it did not help.

HI

This is a new laptop bought only two months before, it started a problem recently when it is idle for 10 -15 minutes the screen goes black and then it will not back on even pressing the space bar or scrolling finger on the control zone of the laptop or even pressing the windows tab.  It stays black only and I have to press the Power button long to switchoff and the restart, it is stressful and damaging as I lose all the data as I can not get back my screen.  It should have been idle or in sleep mode and when we shake a little or press space bar or press the windows button or scroll our finger on the control zone of the lapt top it should have worked .

Please help to solve, I am not sure that the brightness level goes to zero when it becomes idle and will not be back to default brightness level.

Is there a proper diver for Radeon (TM) HD 6490M   windows 10?

 

I have a Pavilion DV6

Product number: QA061UA#ABC

 

   I tried installing windows 10 twice and had this long wait with a black screen,

so I went back to window 7.  I did notice the driver loaded in Windows 10 was 7400 Sieries
