New HP Pavilion laptop worked perfectly until a few weeks ago. I must have inadvertently done something, because now I cannot see emoticons that I've typed, such as smileys, etc. Others on Facebook and elsewhere report seeing them, so it is something at my end. Help please.

Connecting external screen to Pavillion

I have a new Pavilion (HDMI) which I am trying to connect to a (new) Dell P2314H monitor (DisplayPort). I have an adapter cable.

When I press f4 and then 'Duplicate' the monitor wakes up, displays the Dell logo, then 'Entering power save mode' and goes back to sleep. The DisplayPort option is selected on the monitor.

How can I make the monitor display correctly?

Hp Envy 14 2002ea - AMD Radeon HD 6630m windows 10 drivers

Hi,

I have the beats edition HP envy 14 200ea laptop. I have recently installed windows 10 and I can not find a working driver for the AMD Radeon HD 6630m graphics the laptop comes with.

I have tried using AMD's catalyst control centre installer which checks what your system is running and installs the relative driver but to no avail. Catalyst control centre will not open at all.  Changing the compatibilty properties does nothig either. If i change the bios settings for the switchable graphics from fixed to dynmic the laptop seems to boot and function properly but the screen remains blank after the blue windows logo and circualr loading wheel dissapear.

As I understand, the graphics are the intergrated dynamicly switchable type which means the driver must be provided from hp specificlly for the laptop model and operating system?

If so will there ever be a driver for my laptop running windows 10 and is there any other work around?

Its very fustrating with my laptop running on the Intel HD 3000 CPU graphics. It gets unbearably hot and sounds as if it is about to take off most of the time Smiley Sad

Really hoping someone out there has a solution! Thanks!

Cracked monitor bezel

I have a touchsmart laptop that is out of warranty by a year. The bezel on the monitor has cracked at the left hinge and now is flimsy and comes apart when opening or closing the lid, even thoug the laptop has been properly cared for. Is there a part that I can purchase to fix this? This seems to be a common theme with these laptops.

Too many problems arised recently

Hello everyone

I'm seeking serious help here.

First, i got this laptop a month ago with Windows 8.1 Installed. There was no problems with it at all.

I upgraded to Windows 10 at release. It was running great with no issues at all (apart from some driver issues that was fixed with updates).

But recently My laptop doesn't go to shutdown or even wake up from sleep. It gives me a black screen infinitly.

This happened after i updated some Intel drivers.

Plus, the integrated Intel HD Graphics drivers keeps crashing often while playing some videos. It's give a message that Intel HD driver crashed and recovered successfully.

This didn't happen when i first upgraded to W10, it's appeared recently (a week). And i tried downloading the driver from HP website but it was mistakenly for HD 5500 (mine is 4400) and couldn't be installed.

I downloaded from Intel website, but didn't fix anything. Tried Intel Update Utility, found newer drivers but didn't fix the problems too.

Upon further inspection with "powercfg /energy" command i got the following message below:

It appeared there are some problems with USB ports too.

I can provide more info if necessary.

Thank You.

Hello, ever since I upgraded my HP Probook 470G2 (r5 m255 i5 4210U) to Windows 10 I have been getting an error every time I put my computer to sleep or try to launch a graphics program with the integrated graphics (HD 4400). The error is:
VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE (igdkmd64.sys). This indicates there is a problem in Intel HD Graphics driver. I have reinstalled every graphics driver with the one for my laptop from your site (http://h20565.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=6943843&lang=en&cc=us) for Windows 10 64 bit. I still get the same error sometimes when BSOD happens. Furthermore, my laptop would sometimes when watching films on it, go blank and reappear with a notification popping up saying: Intel HD Graphics driver (win 8.1) has failed and successfully recovered.
To sum up:
-tried reinstalling all the drivers
-every driver I have installed is from HP Support site from my laptop

-still getting errors and BSODs

screen rotation not working

The system has two graphical units:

Intel HD graphics 4600

nVidia Quadro K1100K

I am not able to rotate the screen from landscape mode to portrait mode (or rotate at all), both the build in screen and external monitor (I have tried two different monitors) using the normal hotkeys (Ctrl+Alt arrows). I have also tried the Intel HD grafics controlpanel, here the option is greyed out:

display -> screen resolution -> advanced settings  (Intel HD grafics controlpanel - tab)

Lastly using the nView desktop manager (nVidia) by creating a hotkey using the the Hotkeys Manager did not work either, I only sometimes see a short flick and then nothing happens.

I really hope there is a solution to this short-coming...

Earlier a guy from Microsoft support did a remote access thing on my laptop and he reinstalled the graphics driver on my laptop but now I can't find that driver in the Device Manager, and when I look for the driver on the HP website it says there aren't any drivers availabe for my laptop. Can anybody help?

Page resizing

On an HP Envy 17, using Windows 10 and IE 11.

From time to time I wish to change the screen size from (almost) full screen to a few centimeters smaller. I can do this by dragging the top, bottom, left or right side of the screen to the size i want. NB I am not using the maximum button.

When using IE or Google the screen size can be made smaller or larger, but after exiting, the next time I use IE or Google the screen is allways back to almost full screen size.

If I use Chrome, changing screen size remains as set until screen size is changed again by dragging the edges.

Thanks for any advice given.

HP Beats video settings go from 1920x1080 max to 1366x768 max after Windows 10 upgrade

I own several HP Beats version laptops (purchased a couple years ago) and I can now only set the display settings to a max of 1366x768 after the upgrade to windos 10.  I was not able to find any new drivers that address the issue.  In windows 7 I was able to set the display to 1920x1080

I would rather not downgrade back to 7 (to get the better settings) but I do need the 1920x1080 settings in order to use certain corpoate software and see all of the data

Thank you for any help
