Recently i was trying to update all the stuff on my computer. After I downloaded the latest version of my AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000 Series software, I started to have some trouble with switchable graphics. I had to choose for every program I use, which video card I want to use. I looked it up and I saw that in pc startup I can change my Switchable Graphics Mode to fixed and get it done. When I restarted my pc, there was no Switchable Graphics Mode to change. I thought I should update my BIOS. So I found out there was this program called "InsydeFlash". I downloaded a version for my pc from the HP site, it upgraded my bios from F.13 to F.29 but problem wasnt solved. "InsydeFlash" version was 4.04.00 then I found a newer version of it but it said "There isnt any ROM file in this directory." This software is really hard to find online. I was going to try to update it version by version but I couldnt find the other new versions of it. Now I'm stuck. OpenGL apps are all black... I need to fix this.

While I was restarting my display went black.  No light was coming from the display ay all.  All the other lights were working and the CAPS light was blinking in an unusual manner.   A hardware problem I know because this the third HP PC I have had that did this very thing.  So long HP I will be taking my money elseware.  Watch out everybidy!

I recently got an HP dock that connects through the port at the bottom of the laptop. I've already connected a display to the VGA port on it, but I can't seem to get another monitor to work through the DVI port on the docking station. I've read in a couple of places that this could be happening because my laptop doesn't have DVI without the dock.

In short, how can I connect using the DVI port on the docking station? Do I have to install some software because my computer doesn't come with a DVI port? Or is DVI support something that's already included with Windows?

I've also noticed that the VGA port on my laptop (not the one I'm using with the docking station) has stopped working when I connect the docking station. Is this a problem anybody else has?

How can i use my built in HP webcam to make pictures and Videos?

I have been having problems lately at times getting my laptop to boot up. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. I usually can get it to boot up by going into BIOS and then just exiting right away. Once I get it working everything seems fine, then out of the blue my screen will just go black. My power light is on, the wireless light is on, but nothing to see. I then try shutting it off and turning it back on and it will not restart. The power light comes on and I have a blinking light by the caps key and above the end and page up keys. This is when I have to restart it by pressing the escape key rapidly and I then hit the F10 key and then just exit out and it restarts. What does anyone think this problem is? ATI driver for HD 5650 not working, CCC can not find hw. I was upgrade Windows 10 from W7 x64, but on W7 everything work perfect. What happened? I was instal newest CCC from ATI sites, but still nothig.

When PC starts display works perfectly. But After 10/15 minutes it fails to work perfectly. It looks like a black n white tv running without an antenna. I tried an external monitor, same problem there as well. Though PC is running well. If I restart PC, the same thing happens again.

What's the problem actually and what can the solution????

Hi!

I just update my windows 7 to windows 10 few days ago. Found brightness of the laptop does not affect at all, even adjustment indicators on screen goes left and right and also new windows brightness indicator on upper left corner goes up and down as expected. But nothing actually happen.

My laptop model is Envy 17 - 3005eo. This is vey annoying in plane and other low light situations. Is there some quick solve for this?

I have already tryed all tricks told elsewhere like updating graphics driver. It does not solve the case.

The Brightness Keys (FN+F9 and FN+F10) are not working. All other FN-Keys are working properly.

What can i do?

Edit: On a 850G2 you have to install the HP System Event Utilities then everything works fine.

HP Hotkey Support (which works for a 850G1) must not be installed!!

Hi, I have a Pavilion dm4 laptop with a Radeon 6470 HD Graphic Card, switchable with the main mobile Intel HD Graphics card.  I have Windows 7 64 bit as my OS.

When I updated my OS to windows 10 (free version yet), the option to switch between both graphic cards was not present anymore, and the Radeon Card was recognized as 7400. I use my laptop for work and gaming, and i was not able to play games as the Radeon Card is not recognized anymore by many of them.

I tried to update the catalyst driver to 15.7.1, cause it´s  supposed to be the proper driver for the Radeon graphic card to work on windows 10, but it didn´t solve the problem and the switchable option still didn´t work, so i have nothing more to do than going back to windows 7, to make things work again.

However, I really would like to try windows 10, so... Is there another way to fix the problem with the graphic cards?

I am using a HP Compaq 6910p laptop. My laptop display screen started showing some flickering horizontal lines. The lines are visible even in bootup screen and in bios menu. But if I move the screen front and back some lines gets disappeared and new ones are visible. And if I place the screen in some position the lines disappears completely.

I have attached my laptop's display images. You can see the difference between two images. Screen was tilted to different positions and the lines gets changed.

Kindly please help me to solve this problem as quick as posible.

I have an HP Elitebook 840 G1 running Windows 7 (64 bit) with SP1. Windows has decided that I have the Intel(R) HD Graphics family and has set up the driver version 9.18.103324. When I check the display resolution it is set at 1366x768 and cannot be increased.

I know that the PC is capable of better and has a specific display card etc that is not Intel. But:

a) I can't see what it is, and

b) I can't get Windows to recognise it.

How do I find out what exactly is inside the case and then what can I do to set it up correctly?

Hello, I have this laptop model PC Notebook HP ENVY m6-n012dx for about a year and i got the free install of the windows 10. The video card is Intel HD Graphics 4600. It was working nicely till yesterday when this message start to show and the games used start to lag or to close.

"Display drivers stopped responding and has recovered.  Intel HD Graphics Driver for Windows 8 (R)..."

It says the problem is with a driver made to windows 8, and when i got the laptop it came installed the windows 8.1

Does anyone know how to solve it?

If you've checked the HP site for the latest drivers for your laptop model, you may have noticed that AMD drivers have been added. Finally, the laptop > HDMI > TV connection issues I have been having are 100% fixed. 

What I did was - I uninstalled the previous drivers using DDU in safe mode. Then I downloaded and installed the drivers on the HP site, which can be found here. This is the direct download link: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71501-72000/sp71870.exe

The TV is recognized now and am able to extend my desktop.
