Hello,
I'm not entirely sure when this started but I have an annoying 1/4" black border around my screen. I think it has to do with scaling, but can't find an option within the integrated Intel HD Graphics to change built-in monitor.
This notebook has Intel HD graphics 4400, and is running the most current Intel Graphics HD and WIndows 8.1.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
I cannot get my laptop to play dvd's.
I put the disc in, and can get it to a point where it says:
Audio
Video
I click on video, and it lists all my options of stuff-- and then, when I click on that, click play, or use a select a disc, nothing happens.
It will pull up windows media player, but only to listen to music, my dvd is no where to be found.
Please help. Thanks.
I have the same problem. I bought a Pavilion 15 with an R5 integrated card and a R7 m260 dedicated card, within a Windows 8.1 OS enviroment, and after all HP expert recommendations (and support) i cant use my R7 when i run heavy graphic apps like games (Blizzard games, LOL, and many others used as benchmark). I check my R7 with AMD monitor, and GPU-Z and my card just dont work. I read this problem in many forums without solution.
My question is: ¿HP tech staff know about this problem and they cant fix it, or they just advice us follow a protocol and wasting our time, without trying to undesrtand their customers needs?
I can help: Win 8.1 just dont work properly with the switchable cards, and the AMD catalyst attempt to manage both cards just ends using the integrated (or none) card when run games.
We can hope a fix in Win 10 for 29th July? I don`t think so.
HP and all manufacturers need to confront the problem and stay true with us, their beloved customers.
I'll keep waiting for my invested money in my partially useless laptop (my phone and my tablet works as well checking my mail, and they run games and apps better than my 1000 USD computer. I just cant believe it)
Hi guys., Please help resolved my problem. When start up my computer, there is this windows dialog box pop-up says that "Windows has detected your computer's performance is slow. This could be beacause there are not enough resources to run windows aero color scheme".

my laptop camera is not working well. when I make pictures or record video, it appears dark. During skype calling other people can not see me clearly. I checked camera, setting it is ok.
The problems first started happening when I downloaded a game (Planetside 2) on Steam and tried to run it. I received this message over and over again:
"Display driver NVIDIA Kernel Mode Driver, Version 347.52 stopped responding and has successfully recovered."
as the screen flashed between a black screen attempt to start the game and the desktop view.
After a while, the game closed, but the error message remained. Then the laptop froze. I waited for a while but then the laptop restarted, stating that there was a DPC Watchdog Violation.
I have tried getting the HP drivers for the card but nothing has worked.
the brightness control donot work
I have followed HP's instructions in connecting my notebook to my TV monitor display using an HDMI cable. However, all that appears on the TV screen is the message 'No Signal'. The cable works fine with my satellite TV box so I have eliminated that problem. Can anyone suggest a solution please?

It did not install.
And i downloaded from amd http://support.amd.com/en-us/download
It installed but games and others are using Microsoft Basic Display Adapter.
Please help. I am not using my graphic card.

I would like to run an external monitor and be able to close the Spectre X360 laptop lid without putting the laptop to sleep. I have looked in the "Power Settings" "Choose what closing the lid does" options and have not been able to do what I want. I would however like the laptop to sleep when lid closed if NO external monitor connected. Maybe I cannot do both though.

I was using my computer earlier. It was hooked up to my TV using the HDMI port. I was trying to install the Pandora app using the homescreen. The computer informed me Pandora needed to install Adobe Flash Player and I clicked install. About 20 minutes later, the screen went black. I touched it to wake it up and nothing happened. I turned it off and turned it back on and the screen was still black with nothing happening. The computer was purchased a little over a month ago. The screen is completely black. The computer is on because I can feel the heat from the vent. The battery is sealed.
This HP OMEN gaming laptop is the first PC I've owned (out of maybe a dozen) that doesn't offer orientation options on the Screen Resolution screen. Even the "help" thinks it should be there. I've searched for hours by now, wanting to avoid having to ask what should be so simple.
For a seperate issue, I updated my graphics driver approximately 7/05/15. That issue was successfully resolved, so I know the update "took".
Can't find it in any of the Nvidia choices either. SO many programs presume it to be available, many have stopped offering it within the program settings.

I've tried downloading it from another computer and file is still corrupted. So I think the file on hp servers are corrupted.

I have subscribed to a website channel for online study i.e topperlearning.com . Previously everything was fine, I could watch every videos I subscribed for, but now I couldn't play any videos. So I contacted to the helpline no. of the channel, they tried their best to help me out but ended up saying that their is some fault in your machine and now I could not figure out what it is.
