Hi, I'm have a problem with my hp jt 1000 laptop. It keeps flickering on the right hand side everytime the mouse is pointed on that side or the laptop is moved or shifted. There is also a vertical broken text line about three quarters of the way across the screen. I notice the problem when my lap top was returned from being repaired for a broken casing. I believe the moniter was replaced.

 

I started using the computer about a week after it was returned and really thought it was a fixable problem with screen resolution. unfortunately it's a month later and I afraid I'll have to pay to get this problem resolved if sent back to hp.

 

If anyone have a solution to this problem i'll appreciate the help.

Please help I have had problems with this laptop from day one it crashes all the time but the biggest issue is not playing DVDs it opens the dvd power cyber thing and will play the opening credits and crash saying the programme has stopped working and then another window opens saying I don't have the supporting stuff it's brand new with brand new DVDs this is stupid now

I have a HP Pavillion and just recently the screen is having some issues. The screen is very dim, still usable, but barely. And when you try to adjust the brightness, the brighter you make it, it actually makes it even dimmer. When the brightness is all the way down, it is dim but slightly usable. The screen also has a trivial flickering no matter the brightness, which is very unpeasent to the eyes. I already messed with the monitor updates and the refresh rate with no prevail, that does not appear to be the issue. Any suggestions/solutions would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, as recent as a couple of days ago, I noticed I was no longer able to adjust the brightness of my laptops screen, whether it was plugged in or running on battery. When I press the hot keys (F2 and F3) the slider appears in the top left side of the screen as normal, but doesn't move or adjust anyhthing at all. When I go into the control panel and try to adjust the brightness manually with the slider, that also does nothing and the screen doesn't get brighter or dimmer.

My hp DV6845 special edition is showing up a blank screen on turning on the system. The laptop seems to be working but it show a blank screen on turning on. This error occurred when I was watching a video on it and suddenly it hanged and upon restarting through the power button it showed up a blank screen. 

 

Please suggest as many troubleshooting measures as one could to resolve it.

I was using my laptop and suddenly it went off. Then i tried to turn it on, the light blinks but it again turns off.  There is no fan or any hardware sound. This happened before but i detached the battery, brushed off the dust and it was back to normal. Then 3 days later while i was using it, it just went off. The battery was full as i had the unplugged the charger roughly 10 minutes prior this happened. 

I tried the hard reset, still didn't work. I don't understand what is the issue and why is this happening. I don't know if its relevant but before this happened i observed that my laptop was getting slow or lagging  more often. Can anyone help me?

Hello,

 

I have a HP EliteBook 850 G2 laptop. I extend my screen with the HP Compaq LA2405x monitor (by using a VGA cable), but this screen is displaying 1920x1080. This should be 1920x1200.

 

I've tried to update display drivers. I also cannot increase the resolution the maximum is 1920x1080.

How can I fix this problem?

Hi I was using my Compaq Presario CQ56 laptop while trying to type @ for my email address it has now been replaced with " why is this and how do I change it back or at the very least find @ symbol.  At the minute I am copying and pasting it

Hello

 

Lately i have had a most annoying problem with my laptop.

 

Recently, on the bottom half of my laptop screen a dark shadow has appered. Some times the shadow disapper but only after the PC has been shut down. The problem started from out of no where and I cannot see any pattern to when the screen problem will appear, and it feels like tossing a coin and hope for the best each time on turn it on. 

 

Sometimes it feels like movement of the screen trickkers the problem, but sometimes i can move it around without anything happening. In the beginning the problem occured sometimes but now it has become more normal for me to have a screen where the bottom half is dark and the top i bright.

 

 I have tried to update my computer and search for a solution on the internet but haven't come up with anything that helps.

 

I relly hope someone have an idea of what im talking about and can help me

Hi, once I plug in electrcity supply the display shuts off and on. I just replaced my display as well. Is it the reason why I had to replace my lap's display? I am using windows 7 64bit and can you please tell me the correct driver to use. Because I really dont want to replace my display again soon.  Further finger print scanner is not working as well. It never worked for last two years. I think I have not installed the right driver. Can someone please help me here.  Much Thanks.

Half my hp 450 screen is showing lower resolution and/or contrast than the other half. The left half of the screen is perfectly normal while the right half of the screen is having low contrast and faded quality picture. Is it a hardware problem? Does anyone have a clue to fix it?

I am getting this problem, check out the video to know it exactly and I am posting images for quick reference too. And let me know, what is this and what can be done to rectify it. This machine was bought in December 2013 and it has been approximately 1.5 years and I am getting this weird prolem which seems to grow only.

 

PS. I have updated my BIOS.

Hi All,

 

Apologies if this has been covered before but searching hasn't really given me the peace of mind I'm after.  Also, this is my first hp laptop, so familiarity with them isn't that great.  So,....

 

I have a ProBook 6550b, product # VZ245AV.  For the most part I love it....it does what it does without any fuss, and most importantly, without any noise, day after day.  The only criticism I have is with the display.  For the life of me I can't understand why laptop manufacturer's are so in love with the numbers 1366 and 768 !.  How can they call this HD ?.   I mean, I can SEE the pixels !.  Ranting aside, finding a 6550b with a HD+ screen is like looking for hens' teeth.  So I thought,... why not swap the screen out !?.  My question is, can I simply swap a HD 1366x768 screen for a HD+ 1600x900 screen ?.  And, assuming the connections are OK, will doing this tax the graphics chip unduly, causing it to heat up more, thereby making the  fan spin more, and thereby spoiling my valued serenity !?.   

 

If anyone has done this, or a similar mod, I'd love to hear from them. Thanks for your time.

Recently my display hasn't been able to change from the brightest setting. I've tried going through the Device Manager and changing my display from a certain setting but it was already in generic when I got to the page. I've also tried doing it manually through the mobility center and that doesn't work for me either. I'm trying to get this problem resolved because the brightness is all the way up and it gets a little frustrating at night when it looks like I have the sun shining in my face.

Hi, guys! I just formated my notebook (HP Pavilion dv7-7047cl) and instaled the drivers from the HP Support center. Everything looks great, except for the INtel HD Graphic 4000, that shows a yellow exclamation on the drive list. My notebook also have a Nvidia Gforce GT 650M Driver instaled, and seems to work well.

 

Ima kinda desperated here, because Ive donwloaded from the hp support site the last driver, but it keeps showing the yellow exclamation on it.

 

How should I do to instal the Driver correctly :

Hello everyone,

 

I am having some difficulties with my display/screen for my HP G71-340US Notebook.

 

As shown in pictures, my display/screen seems to be squished a bit. There are lines at the bottom which have kinda raised the screen therfore I am unable to see the top portion of the screen that clearly. It is difficult to see which icons I have on top as well as navigate browsers. 

 

When I do print screen the display/screen looks fine but the screen from my point of view looks uneven and also seems to shake a lot. For some reason the screen shakes when I hover Google Chrome below the task bar?

 

Does anyone know if I need to change my video card or the actual screen itself?

I really don't want to replace this laptop because I cherish it a lot.

Hi 

today i bought an hp envy 15t j100 quad edition energy star notebook pc

and it have NIVIDIA and INTEL stickers and hardwares but when I opened the device manger 

i dont see the NIVIDIA only the intel HD 4600 

why NIVIDIA  hidden 

or its not there at all ?????????????????????????

my system's warning notification shows that [The amd control center is not supported by the driver version of your enabled graphics adapter. please update your amd graphics driver or enable your amd adapter using the displays manager] and i tried in official amd site to update my driver using auto detect, in operating system it shows nothing and i cant update, and also in display adapter of device manager shows only intel graphics and not showing amd graphics adapter. what can i do? please help me to solve this problem!

This computer has given problems since the warranty ran out (of course).  The first time it quit, I reflowed the motherboard solder by putting it in an oven.  The problem now is that the screen remains white. I suspect that it's a connection, but do not want to disassemble the piece of junk, again.

 

I'm using an external monitor and have to partially open the laptop's lid to use the keyboard. I can turn off the laptop's screen and set the external monitor to a high resolution, BUT as soon as I open/close the lid it reverts to a poor resolution and the laptop's screen turns back on. 

 

How do I use the external monitor ONLY, and still be able to open/close the lid?

So I recently purchased a game that requires me to run OpenGL3.3 or more. Currently I can do OpenGL3.1, and after poking around some I see no reason why my graphics cards couldn't support it. Do I need to download something for OpenGL, or do my drivers need to be updated? (HP Support says they don't but I'm skeptical). Any help/advice is appreciated.

 

Also, I was poking around this old question, but couldn't do squat with it... quite new at all this after all...
