i just need help  :smileysad:

 

3 years ago i bought COMPAQ 511 laptop and its good! i really love him..i even name him ringo!! 

 

last month all of a sudden my laptop is not working properly (too many to mention) so i used HP Recovery and its ok again! thanks HP my files are still there!..but i cant play games anymore ='( even MINESWEEPER the dialog box will say "HARDWARE ACCELERATION IS EITHER DISABLED OR NOT SUPPORTED BY YOUR VIDEO CARD DRIVER, WHICH COULD SLOW GAME PERFORMANCE. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE LATEST VIDEO CARD DRIVER INSTALLED AND THAT HARDWARE ACCELERATION IS TURNED ON"

 

I've downloaded ATI driver from HP but as i install it..it keeps saying CATALYST INSTALL MANAGER has stopped working.. can someone help me out..

 

when i check the DEVICE MANAGER and see the DISPLAY ADAPTER it only has STANDARD VGA GRAPHICS ADAPTER..i cant find my ATI RADEON HD 4330 graphics (is that suppose to be posted there)

 

at the desktop, when i right click..ATI CATALYST MANAGER is there..but now its GONE..i've checked PROGRAMS and FEATURES and check the installed programs  i didnt see ATI installed (is it suppose to be there)

Hey!

 

I have a HP Pavilion Dv5 2135dx for the last 2 and half years. Earlier today my screen, while using the laptop, has started flicking on and off randomly. I have also lost the abilty to hear anything from my speakers as well. My harddrive and motherboard are working fine. I am able to to still the laptop but only if I have it connected to an external monitor. Is there anything I can do to fix this or is it time to start shopping for a new laptop?

I am from Trivandrum ,kerala,india .As i am using C 700 laptop from Year 2007,for the past few months i am facing a screen flickering problem frequently when i adjust the screen some time it disappears . I have approached the local service centers and rectified once for Rs-2000,the same problem again appears.most of the service centers are cheating in the name of service,there is no experience service engineers in service centers  .So kindly let me know the trouble shooting for flickering(so i can talk to the service center) .the problem found to be a very minor issue but no one in Trivandrum ,Kerala service center try to find out and rectify it.service center only need more money in the name of  service. 

 

so kindly send the details of authorized service center in Trivandrum kerala india. OR let me send the lap top at your end for service

Hello Everyone, 

 

I've had a problem with my HP Pavilion DV7-4030ED for the past few months.

For some reason, the laptop boots up with a resolution, to high for my laptop monitor to handle, which causes it to be out of range for some reason.  I'm missing the right part of my screen, as well as the downside of the screen.

 

I've tried to change the resolution in windows, but that doesn't help at all ( and for some reason, windows thinks the recommended resolution is 1920x1080, which ofcourse, it is not, because this laptop screen isn't full HD ).

 

I find it strange, because even my bios screen is cut off at the right and at the bottom.

I've had this problem for a few months, but most of the time, I would just reboot the laptop a few times and it would work again. I've been rebooting for over 1.5 hours today and I still can't get my laptop to boot right, does anyone know how to fix this problem?

WE HAVE KODAK PRINTER HOOKED UP TO OUR DESK TOP DELL PC  WITH A CABLE BUT I HAVE HP PAILION G7 LAP TOP IS THERE ANYWAY  I CAN HOOK UP TO THE PRINTER FROM MY LAP TOP  AND STILL KEEP THE DESK TOP PC HOOKED UP

Today when I trun on the laptop. I got black screen (bright gray) and it is not showing anything at all. Everything else is working. I can hera fan noise. The light are blinging and I can hear window welcome tone when window starts and also I know my first screen is password screen when that tone is played and I type passord, I can hear sound that is played when user login inside system. But only thing that is missing is display screeen is black/ bright gray all time.

I have a HP pavillion notebook just over 1 year old. Computer starts up i can see the windows logo and the hp start up logo but as soon as it goes to the password screen the screen is black. I can her the welcome chimes and i can type in my password blind and press enter and i can hear the computer log in chimes. Screen stays black. Only way to get a picture is to enter in safe mode. Is there anything i can do? Sounds like its working fine just not the screen! It was just working fine!

I bought a refurbished HP ENVY Ultrabook 4-1015dx through Wal-Mart 2 weeks ago. It's all been working fine until yesterday, when I restarted the computer and for some reason the backlit keyboard will not turn on now. It was working fine before that. The F5 key itself is still illuminated, as is the Wifi key, but hitting the F5 key  now only turns that illumination on and off, nothing else is affected. I tried a system restore to the manufacturer's settings but that didn't solve it. Help please?

I did moved to Windows 8 OS and I've 2 graphics drivers

 

1. Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver

 

2. AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver

 

And I don't find any Switchable graphics enable between the 2 graphics and I did installed lasted beta driver for it from amd site since HP don't have any drivers for Windows 8 for this laptop. I need to switch between the cards thanks

My HP Pavilion dv6-6120ee switchable graphics doesnot recognize any of the two deticated GPU

intel 3000 HD

Ati 6490

and detect instead two "Vga standard adapters"

when installed the intel driver it said require minimum requirments

and when installed Ati ccc it doenot recognizy any



but when install ubuntu on other partition it make my display 1360 but on windows "vga standard only detection"
its resolution 1024 only

Will the Spectre XT Touchsmart Ultrabook 15-4010nr ever get updated drivers for the Intel HD 4000?  I understand that HP has a customized version but it is stuck at version 9.17.10.2867.  The current driver version on Intel's site is 15.31.17.64.3257.  I now realize I made a mistake in buying a laptop that didn't have regular updates from Intel but will the driver ever be updated?

Hi,

I am suddenly seeing blue dots around the windows 7 flag on my HP pavilion dv4 laptop. Can some one please help me out what went wrong with my laptop. I am seeing this issue today when started my laptop. I even restarted my laptop many times and reinstalled all the latest drivers .

I would like to know if anyone has had any success in getting HP to recognize and remedy what seems like a perpetual video chip problem?   I bought my laptop in December 2010 and similar to other posters, the screen went black about 2.5 years after purchase (June 2013).  Diagnosis - bad ATI video chip.   Their supposed remedy - 50% off a new motherboard with only a 90 day warranty (really?).   Or, better yet, 50% off a brand new HP laptop up to $200.   Yes, just what I want - another opportunity to spend more money on a brand and company that refuses to come clean with their customers.   I am so angry that all the video chip issues as surfaced in this forum are not enough to cause them to action with a recall.  As customers we need to be persistent, especially if we have other HP products in our homes.  I have 4 other HP products and I refuse to let this go.   I urge everyone to keep up the complaints.  Our problems are not isolated issues and they should not be treated as such.

As soon as I turn on my computer the screen goes black. I modded the BIOS so I could switch from IDE to AHCI on my SSD.

After I saved and restarted my computer it wouldn't turn on. I'm not sure if this is the hard drive or the BIOS.

Also the caps lock/num lock blinks twice then pauses for like 2 seconds then blinks again.

please help asap, I need to fix it really badly for school

Hi, thanks in advance,

 

Ive been searching for a solution to this for hours and i hvae seen very few people with the same issue im having.  Normally when someone is having an issue with hdmi audio not working its a matter of going and selecting the hdmi device in the playback devices and setting it as default.

 

My issue is I have no hdmi device in playback devices.  I have a hdmi port, ive got it plugged into the tv, i see the laptop display fine on the tv but no sound and no hdmi device in the sound playback devices.  Ive right clicked and selected to show disabled devices and its still not there.

 

Ive gone through device manager and for graphics & audio selected to update drivers.  Most said I had the latest driver there is, the audio one did actually update but after a windows restart still no hdmi device in playback devices.

 

Im on windows 7 professional on a hp ProBook 4530s and im at a complete loss at this point.  Any help or directoin would be greatly appreciated.

it has been worked at windows 7 but cant work at windows 8

 

i downloaded some drivers form hp and amd sites and it dosent work

HIYA!

So, I've seen similar problems around, but no solution has been found for my particular issue.
As many of you know, HP and AMD/ATI have some issues with drivers.  Well, I recently came into posession of a Pavilion dv6-6190ee, and I unfortunately needed to pop a new hard drive in it.  Well, lo and behold, the display adapters have been buggy as all hell, and I just can't seem to get them to work properly.

After considerable effort and research on the forums, I have finally gotten Catalyst Control Center as well as the display driver (ATI Radeon HD 6770M) to install, but alas it keeps defaulting to the low-res default VGA driver, and I can't access the radeon driver at all.

When I try to "Detect my driver" on the AMD page, they say that yes, I do indeed have the HD6770M installed, but when I try to download/install the driver it says I have a hardware incompatibility, and won't update my driver.

So currently I'm sitting at 1024 X 768 graphics with no hardware acceleration.  What should I dooooo?

Specs:
Windows 7 (64 bit)
8 GB RAM
Radeon HD 6770M gfx card
Intel i7 processor
