Like the title says, why is my Nvidia GPU showing only 1024MB memory in CPU-Z while it's a GeForce 820M with 2GB dedicated memory? The Intel HD 5500 Graphics Adapter shows 2048MB of memory. Also by the performance of some games, I do feel like the GPU is not using full memory or potential and is not performing as much as it should due to something, is the GPU locked or anything? I have it updated to the latest driver.
I purchased my laptop in last month. From the last 10 days I have been observing that the display goes off for a few seconds automatically while I work. Though it does not disturb the running program. Please suggest an appropriate solution.
Boots up.
Fan runs for 3 to 5 seconds, stops.
Faint sound, no Fan.
Black screen.
lights on.
Aafter a few more seconds, capslk & numlk blink once every 3 seconds.
Close, no change. I don't think it's going into hybernation.
Open .
After 1 second, blinking starts again.
Batery charges well,
Never gamed on, just personal use. web search, Bill pay, shopping, e-mail, exc....
I have replaced the CPU, nothing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, cant afford new.

From last two days i am getting some horizontal lines when i starts my laptop. After that when the window 8 login screen comes it is showing flicker effect which seems like screen is not refreshing fastly itself. It gives the illusion like safe mode in windows XP.
I have checked it in bios but same is happening, it gives the illusion of previous screen with the current screen. Even when starts it again it gives the fade effect of previous screen when i forcely shut down my pc from power button.
But when i logged in my PC then after some time it starts working normally. When i again restarts it again the same thing happens.
Can any one help me to sort this problem.

But when i try to install it there is an error "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing software"

My laptop has a problem in that when i press power button it shows blinking on the power button and caps lock once. The fan also rotates for few seconds and then everything goes off. It neither displays anything. What can be the problem? Please assist.

Hi, my dad recently bought a hp 250 g2 and I had a hard time finding the drivers, so far I have found most of the drivers that the laptop needs but I can't seem to find one for the graphics card. It keeps showing as "standard vga graphics adapter" and Its the Intel HD Graphics with the dual core intel celeron 2.13 ghz processor.
I would be grateful if someone responded to this post.

Because of switchable graphics, we can't use the latest AMD drivers direct from AMD and the latest driver from HP driver support is 3 years old....
When does HP get cracking and start developing and incorporating the latest AMD catalyst software into their switchable graphics driver platforms???

So I;ve had my Laptop, the HP Envy, for about 2 months. Its an absolutely fantastic laptop. fast, greatbattery, great memory, its just awesome. However as awesome as it is, I keep running into an issue regarding video playback. I have Netflix, and sometimes use YouTube. On most days the videos work and there are no problems at all. However sometimes Ill get a green screen, not that the video isnt working....Its there, just with sound and no display. Ive noticed that while this is happening on other sites, the videos still work, but on mainstream sites its green screen. My first solution was to restart the PC and that always solves it. But I didnt get the laptop to restart every now and again hahaha. So! If you can help me out and tell me whats going on thatd bevery helpful! Im not immensly tech savy, but I can follow directions soundly. Help Me Out!!

Hello, I've searched the 'net HI and LO for this and not quite found a match for my issue.
My laptop display turns all white off and on at random times for random lengths of time. Typicalliy it comes back on after a minute or less or so, if not I just do a system restart and then all is fine for a while.
ALso, sometimes the screen will get horizontal thin lines that flash on and off then the display will turn all black. When this happens, all I can do is do a system restart to get the display going again.
So far all I've found from others is that their screen turns white and stays white/black until they hook it up to an external monitor. My problem is so random that it would make that test not possible (I don't have an external monitor). Oh and also I try moving the physical parts like the monitor and the whole laptop and it doens't make a difference, so I dont' think anything is loose.
Could it be that my display is slowly dying somehow? I've had this laptop for approx 3 yrs. Any help with this is appreciated. thank you.
Everytime I open my laptop the screen is blurry and turns a light blue shade with thin white lines. I have to move the screen to find just the right angle for the screen to become clear. My laptop in only 3-4 months old. Can someone help me?

Hi! I have a problem with the screen flickering. I have got the display cable changed twice, the laptop works fine for a couple of days, but then the problem comes back. If I press at certain points at the bottom of the screen it works fine, the moment the pressure is removed it starts to flicker again. Is it the LCD inverter problem, LCD problem or the display cable yet again? And if its the display cable again what is damaging it over and again?
Can someone point towards the problem? Any help would be much appreciated.
