This is a friend's laptop so I don't know much about it. When I hit the power on button I can hear that the machine is on, but the screen remains black without any indication of it being on. I've connected it to an external (working) monitor & nothing shows on that either. I've taken the battery out & done a "hard" reset...to no avail. I checked to make sure the hard drive & RAM were securely seated. Where do I go from here?

graphics card not working
my nividia gt 740m 2gb graphics cards are not being recogonized or not being used.i tried updating the drivers even tried restoring the system to factory state.but the probkem stilk presists when i check through my grachics card control panel it shows that the card is working fine all the details about graphics card are shown and in device manger too the graphics card shows no issues. then why my game cant detect the hardware. all this started nearly a week ago till then it was all working fine. please give me a solution. Screen with dots (green, purple, blue)
Hello everyone, I have a problem with my notebook, a few days ago the screen started to show green dots instead of darker colors, and purple in lighter colors. I've connected the laptop to an external monitor and the image shows perfect. Graphical drivers are up to date. Sometimes, all dots disappear but after several minutes or hours they show up again.
Please help me to find a solution. Thanks.

My Radeon AMD 7670M doesn't run my games.
I have a laptop with Intel I7 (HD Graphics 4000), and also a Radeon AMD HD 7670M. When I play video games that need lots of performance (league of legends and others), It's only the Intel that gets recognised, the Radeon doesn't run, it's not recognised, I tried to instal the latest drivers, I also download the AMD Catakyst Control Center, It doesn't even want to execute, it says that there is no AMD Product in my computer. I tried lots of solutions, nothing worked. I need serious help now. Please help :'( .

New HP Spectre x360 Image Retention
Hello, I just bought a HP Spectre x360 with the touchscreen Full HD display online and everything is great except I have a image rentention (ghosting) problem. The effect is most prominent for about half an hour after the monitor is activated from a long sleep. The screen is noticable less saturated and whiter. There is also some slight flickering during this time that isn't that noticeable but seems to be getting worse. After some time of use, the screen gets better and the computer is perfect again.
Is this normal behavior? Is there a way I can fix this?
I haven't tried much. I tried calibrating the display to no avail. The effect does not happen on my monitor when I hook it up.

I purchased HP EligePad 900 G1 model couple of days back and received it yesterday. When I switch the tablet ON for the first time and observed flickering screen issue. The issue makes it difficult to look at it.

Driver for AMD 6770m for windows 8
I want to upgrade my laptop from windows 7 genuine to windows 8 or windows 8.1. I want to know that will it be able to upgrade to new os? As in HP website drivers available for only windows 7 for my model. And my laptop has AMD 6770m and INTEL 3000 switchable graphics card so how to get these drivers which are supported for windows new os? I cant manually update from manufacturer website as these are switchable graphics card so it wont run. I have to rely on HP only I guess for this issue.
If upgrade possible than please provide information and link for drivers for windows 8 or 8.1

NC4400 Display "Whites out"
I have two of these laptops, both have this screen fault. I can hit it fairly hard then either have to reboot or put it to sleep then wake it up again to get it to display. I sometimes have two screens attached and the other screen is unaffected I believe this was a common fault but what do I need to change? Is it the main board? the display inverter? or the display itself?

I lost the video driver on my Pavilion g series notebook. Prod Number is LV860UA#ABA, Serial No is [Personal Information Removed]. I downloaded the drivers for Pavilion g6-1a75dx but I can not install them. They say they installed OK but the display is wrong and it does not show the correct driver id in the graphics display.

It went to a blue screen and there was a loud continuous beep coming from the speaker. I shut it down with the power button. When I try starting the computer the fan turns on but I get a black screen and it will not boot. There is not even a faint image on the screen (not a backlight issue). The caps lock and num lock lights are blinking. I did research and most have said that this could be a graphics card problem. I have also read it could be RTC battery, or memory problem. What are the steps I should go through to to find out what the problem is? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

cam not working in low light imaging
Hai i hav a hp pavilion dv6. I recently tried to skype my friend during night time and my HP truevision HD is not able to pick up faces during low light imaging i.e. incandescent light. It works good during day time though. Can anybody help with these please like how can i change the controls or something so that it works the same during night time also . Very urgent.

black screen
I turn on,it powers up, I get to enter password and welcome screen then nothing but arrow in black screen. Please help. It worked just fine yesterday. I went in to safe mode and everything came up just fine. I even did system restore but nothing changed.
