I keep getting the dreaded black screens on my HP laptop. Bear with me ,as I am not a techie with my PC but just willing to try and solve problems before paying to solve it. There is a conflict with my AMD Radeon 6470m display driver that causes my PC to black screen but then recover. After checking, no drivers need to be updated. The AMD site says that I can't use Catalyst control because that will cause other conflicts. AMD referred my back to my pc manufacturere for problem resolution. How do I determine what is causing the conflict so that I may delete that program or what can I do to work around the issue? I am operating Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium.
I have a Pavilion g6 series laptop that when I turned on today has flickering horizontal lines running across the screen. The lines get thicker and change colors and make the screen almost impossible to see. There is also part of the screen where nothing is displayed. I have connected the laptop to a tv screen and it displays correctly- no lines etc. Does anyone have any advice of next steps???
I always get crushs on driver Graph Card.
I always get errors like this. I digged some and I found that my driver have error and PC just uses Intel HD 3000 driver on his own Its not a graph card and Its useless.
Its like a **bleep** on me. Next time if I have to buy a computer. I NEVER CHOICE THE HP!
Well I bought this laptop two years ago from Best Buy.
It is G42 series and has AMD Mobility Radeon HD 4250 and AMD Phenom 2 Processor.
Early this year, its lcd went crazy every color that should be white is cyan, there are white flickering vertical lines on the screen. And there are redish pixels on the black color, it is not os specific problem, same problem is seen during boot up. So it is a hardware issue. I went to a repair shop and he said the lcd cable was causing the problem. He replaced it, charged 25$ for it and it worked fine. After a week, the lcd again went in the same condition. I took the laptop back to the repair shop, this time he fixed it for free, said over heating was causing problems...
Now I am pretty sure that LCD is fine. Since the problem was temporarily resolved without changing the lcd. I am also sure that the graphic card is fine, bacause the display is fine on external monitor.
Now after two months the LCD has gone crazy again. It is the exact same problem. Occasionally the lcd/ display becomes normal for few minutes but then back to abnormal again. So I think it is a loose connection or something similar. I am unable to get it fixed and I do not trust the repair shops here and there is no HP service center.
If anyone else had the same problem and were able to fix it please help me out. I like this laptop it has served me well in the past two years.
AT FIRST I COULD WATCH MOVIES (two weeks) now I can not watch them. IT 'see's them BUT IT STUTTERS and sucks. I have a warranty and I am very unhappy with this purchase but I am willing to try if someone will help me cure what ails it or tells me what I can BUY OR ADD TO MAKE IT WORK. Thank you!

Greeting, i am using envy15 notebook.
the model name is 15-3040nr.
before 5hours, speaker worked well.when notebook's cooler made some noise(i think i was activing some high quility program which needed many cpu), i made it as 'stut down'. but now it doesnt work.
i checked device manage and uninstalled the idt hd audio device and restarted the computer and then,
i installed 'sp56900' as administor authority.
but, the speaker green gage is moving when i actived music file.
but it is still not working. i mean 'no sound.' any ideas?
So I go to the bathroom and I come back to my laptop and the screen is black but the back light is still on. I pressed the power button to put it in hibernate mode and when i did that, I could see a flicker of my desktop before it went to hibernate. I pressed the power button to start to computer up again and I see a flicker of my desktop again and then it turns black (but backlight is still on).
I hooked up my laptop to my tv with the hdmi cord and I can see everything. The computer is working fine but for some reason my screen isn't showing anything. Now the weird thing is that when I play a video or go on certain pages, it will show up on my laptop. it will still flicker a little but I can still see everything. Then once I close that screen or video, it's back to black. I have searched all over for someone who has a similar problem like I have, in hopes that I can find a solution, but I havn't. I already tried one sulution where you take out the battery and charger and press the power button for 45 sec. That didn't work. I've had this laptop for a little over a year. It is a HP Pavilion g7-1173dx.

In this video you can see that if I go to a certain webpage, it shows on my laptop briefly. When I close that webpage, the screen goes back to black.

In this video you can see that I started playing a video and it shows on my laptop screen. Once I stop it, or really take it off full screen, it goes back to black.

but the issue i am faceing is my display deiver is not working when i install display driver, my laptop start restarting. Bluescreen flash and restart my system.
i am unable to work for a min. Sometime laptop starts but no display comes. Plz request u all to help me ASAP.

I bought an HP pavilion g6 with switchable graphics but when i play games like battlefield 3 and especially minecraft i have extremly low fps.I believe it's a problem of the switchable graphics.My specs are: Intel i5 2450M 2.5Ghz /6g ram/intel 3000+AMD radeon 7450M both at 1gb ram and i use windows 7 64bit.Can anyone help me out here? :smileyfrustrated:
I am using an HP Pavilion TS11 Notebook pc running windows 8
Have purchased t 2 ended HDMI cable and attached ine end to the PC and the other to my Bravia HD TV set. The laptop tells me it is connected to the Sony TV but the TV just continues to display the TV channel it is tuned into.
I looked on the Sony help website for Bravia TV's but it does not list the model I have as compatible with Windows 8 even though the TV is only 4 years old and not on a home network so not sure if this is relevant.
The TV is connected to the arial through a Panasonic DVD recorder using a SCART lead between the TV and the DVD recorder.
Can anyone advise what to try next, thanking you in advance.

I have a Windows 7 ultimate 64bit version and I tried to install AMD Radeon HD 7650m driver after I installed integrated Intel HD graphics driver. But after AMD Catalyst installation finished, it showed that while installing it had some warning. That means, installation wasn't succesfull.
What could/should I do?

Installed Windows 8.1 RTM x64 on HP Envy 17t CTO j000. Full disk erase, not an upgrade.
Using HP 4600 driver 2013-04-15 , Version9.18.10.3071 from the HP website.
Grpahics in IE11 are messed up, weird colors and artifacts. See below.
I go back to Windows 8 (not 8.1) and problem goes away. Also disabling IE hardware acceleration seems to fix it but that is not a valid fix. Either HP or Intel needs to update drivers.
My HP DV7 1261wm Notebook has a black screen after I close the lid and then reopen it. It has two LED lights displaying solid on the mouse pad and page up key. Please help I have already installed a new HDD
