ATI Radeon 5470 Corrupted Display Driver

Hi, I've updated to windows 8.1 and I'm trying to install the old ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 Display Drivers, but when I go to AMD website it tells me to download a new version, and after I install that version I get like 10 fps at Counter Strike: Global Offensive, I think that before I updated to Windows 8.1 I had the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 Display Driver, but it got corrupted so I had to download the new one, but I want to use the old version because atleast it was stable and I could run the game smoothly. Is there anyway I can download the ATI display driver that comes with the computer? Since mine got corrupted and I need to replace it. I don't even know how to keep windows from installing the corrupt one..

convert hdmi output from htsc to psl

I bought my laptop in the USA but I reside in Brazil. Unfortunately my HDMI output utilizes the HTSC system but in Brazil only the PAL system predominates. I would like to know if I can execute this conversion through some sort of hardware tweak or  software installation. This would be more desirable than buying an expensive HTSCto PAL transcoder. Please help if possible.

Envy M6 no vga output

I recently acquired an Envy M6-1125dx that was dropped and the top cover came off and the lcd was broken. I figured easy fix, An lcd and back cover. Wrong! Computer powered on, dvd was spinning but the cap light kept flashing once slowly. No external video using vga output and an external monitor. I researched and figured on bad mobo and or processor. I replaced both with used but working parts from ebay and got the damaged lcd to light up. So before I threw more money at this laptop I tried the external monitor again. I tried both vga and hdmi outputs with no image showing. I tried fn+f4 keys and got the same results. I tried with keyboard and without, with hinges closed and open and with a hard drive connected and without to no avail. I even found a spot on the upper part of the touch pad just above the power button where when I placed a small magnet the lcd screen would shut off but there was still no image on the external monitor. I figure that since the the damaged lcd is now lighting up (but is unreadable do to the drop) my mobo and or cpu issues are over. Am I wrong here? And how do I make this laptop output video so I can get into the bios and install a clean version of windows 7 on a fresh hard drive? Does anyone have an answer? I am at wits end and ready to part it out on ebay. Please let me know if anyone out there has any suggestions due to the fact that I have dumped too much money into this laptop already and refuse to buy another part until I am sure that I can install windows 7 and at least get this thing working. Thank you.

I have windows 8.1 as the OS on my laptop. Whenever I boot up and come to the home screen (desktop) , I get a error message as the MMdriver and the Catalyst is not working. I have tried to re-install the driver but to no avail. Tried restore point also.

The system also crashes whenever I play games or launch skype.  shows me Thermal shutdown as the error message.

Please if you have a solution , repond

Good performance when gaming on external monitor. Horrible one when on laptop monitor.

Hello

I've had this laptop for a few months and i'm generally quite satisified with it.  I often use it for playing relatively low performance Pc-Games (Diablo3, Counterstrike GO, League of Legends etc.)

When i am playing on my external monitor over an HDMI cable, the performance is as good as can be expected from a laptop. 40-60 fps in all games and all situations. However, if I am playing on my laptops built in monitor, the performance drops down siginificantly. In Diablo3 for example it drops from a steady 50 FPS down to 10-20, which is pretty noticeable, with spikes going much lower. Also all games have these strange hiccups occuring every 2-3 seconds in a steady rythm. Its not very noticable as it only hangs for a fraction of a second, but once you notice it, it is really irritating. I suspect my problem has  something to do with the fact that my Laptop has a Nvidia GTX850M GPU aswell as Onboard Graphics and that it utilises the bad onboard graphics card when on the laptop monitor while fully using the Nvidia card when on the external monitor.

I searched for solutions for a long time, but couldn't find any. (didn't even find threads about the same problem as mine)

Drivers should be up to date, and I am pretty sure the problem is not about the power settings as i tweaked around pretty much everything i could in there.

I have no idea what i could try anymore so help would be appreciated  :smileyhappy:

Edit: Apparently the low FPS is something to do with the power or battery. Unplugged the cable and the performance went to the levels that i usually have on the external monitor.  Plugged back in after a minute and the performance remained fine.

However, the mini freezes every second are still there.  So I guess it went from unplayable to slightly infuriating which is an improvement.

Screen turns black

Hello,

I Bought a brand new HP15 notebook (hp-15-r208nj) 2 months ago. all was fine, until a week ago, in which the computer started to have a pretty concerning issue: while surfing the net, playing games (not heavy graphic - simcity 5) or just doing nothing, suddenly the screen turns black. the computer keeps on running, it's just like the graphic card turns it self off, therefore the screen doesn't display anything. there is no way to solve it, beside restarting the computer (long press on the power button then press it once again to power it up). after the restart all is clear as if never happend.

I've tried to read and check about sleep mode, but nothing is set to send it into sleep mode (or on the other hand everything is checked to make sure the computer will wake up from sleep mode).

I Guess it's some kind of hardware problem with the graphic card? maybe something wrong there..

thanks in advance!

Any video causes my laptop to lock up (DVD, Netflix, Slingbox, YouTube running in IE, FF or Chrome)

I am running a G62 Notebook that is about 3 years old.

I have been using it to stream Slingbox and Netflix for the past 3 years on Chrome

About 1 month ago, Slingbox started to lock up. I tried Netflix and experienced the same issue. The video would stop, but audio would continue for a few seconds before it would start to drop out. The computer would be excessively slow to respond to any input (mouse, keyboard, etc), if I shut the video app down, the computer would recover after a few minutes.

At the same time I noticed the behaviour for full-screen had changed: previously I could switch between full screen and regular screen by double clicking on the video. Now I have to click the fullscreen button, and I get a message to hit escape to exit fullscreen.

My first step was to check for virus and malware; I ran Webroot, AdAware, MS Malicious SW removal & Malware bytes. I found minor issues, mainly with adware and cleaned them up - No Change

I removed all unused applications and verifed nothing extra running in Task manager - No Change

I tried to run NF and SB in Firefox and IE and experienced the same issue.

I tried to unistall and reinstall the plug-ins with no improvement

I tried a You tube video - same issue

I tried to watch a DVD using AVC player, the same issue occured (NOT STREAMING)

Computer runs fine otherwise, and will recover if I can stop the video.

The display of my hP Compaq 6730b is destroyed. Desktop and Windows explorer fading out in colour. Read it somewhere that it may be a faulty display driver.

It all happened when I inserted a pen drive into my laptop. When I opened it the display then started showing weirdly.

Please someone kindly send the current display drivers to see if it can help. Pardon me for my English.

HP Dv7 6110ec - OVERHEATING!

Hello,

it would be really nice if you could help me resolve with my problem. I'm currently having some problems with my GPU reaching high temperatures (above 100 °C), when I'm playing graphically intensive games.  However, CPU temperatures are fine (around 85°C). Do you know what can cause such overheating of the graphic card in my laptop?

I look forward to your reply

Yours faithfully,

HDMI output not working after Windows 8.1 update

$

I am using a Hp probook 4440s and I have just run an update of Windows 8.1 based on the system auto update (it ran 5 updates). Prior to the update, I used a 24" monitor as the main screen and this was connected via the HDMI port. Right after the update, the system doesn't seem to recognise the HDMI port anymore and it goes back to using the laptop screen as the main screen. I changed the HDMI cable but it made no difference. I subsequently connected another laptop to the 24" monitor via HDMI and it worked fine. So it appears both the monitor and the HDMI cable are fine.I tried driver reinstall procedure but didnt work for me. Please find me a solution
