HP Truevision HD don't work

$

Hi,

First the varning  "There is no webcam connected. Connect one and try again" showed. Then I did all the things from the link below. Now when I'm trying to use the webcam the program starts and after a few seconds a varning shows "Youcam found a new webcam (HP Truevision HD). Would you like to use it"? When I press "yes" the varning only shows again. The light next to the webcam flashes and then the warning comes back. First the varning was "There is no webcam connected. Connect one and try again" so I tired all the things from the link below.

I have done all of the things from this page:

http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware/tips-for-when-your-webcam-is-not-detected/td-p/1988517

Nothing works... Do I need to send it to the workshop for warranty-repair? :smileysad:
I have done a factory reset but the problem don't disappear.

Green Screen on a Laptop

I bought a HP laptop recently and it has to be the WORST computer I have ever had.  The keys constantly stick while typing but the thing I found most irritating is the constant green screen while I am trying to watch a video.  Last night I was watching a show.  It finished, I checked my email.  Came back to see the next installment of the same show and GREEN SCREEN!  What could possibly have changed in two seconds?  I came on this forum and tried to solve the problm.  Went to settings, hit advanced tab and then applied the acclerated graphics option.  Guess what?   NOTHING.  Nothing has changed it is still a green screen when "i"t feels like it.  Sometimes I turn it on and the video will play, then other times it will not.  I have given up even trying.  I think this is the worst product I have ever purchased.  A piece of crap!   I had my son in law check it out and he got it to play videos for one day then it reverted back to green screen all on it's own.  Do I have to do something every time I turn it on in order to be able to play video?.  I am so sick of this constant green screen not to mention in just writing this small text the keys have stuck a half a dozen times....This from a relatively new machine.  Piece of absolute junk.

Brightness Meter

So I'm having an issue that I'm pretty sure is because of the recent Windows updates that I downloaded that may be conflicting with the brightness up and down keys on my keyboard.

Basically, because this is an HP laptop, they have included brightness up and down keys that can well, turn the brightness up and down. These keys will only stop working if the PC is on for an extended amount of time. Once I restart, they're fine. But how do I fix this issue? I checked the HP Support Assistant to see if they had any HP Registered updates to counteract the Windows updates and I didn't have any.

Does anybody have a solution?

6770m code 43

problem; error code 43 with the 6770m driver + blank screen after wake up from sleep mode.

BTW i have read and tried to follow any other problems persisting to these issues with no fix.

I had a hard drive fail, so new hard drive w/ factory reformat. these are new problems.

not sure what to try next, this is what ive done-

Reinstalled/updated every new driver i could find avail for both the 6770m and the hd 3000.

Downloaded the amd cataylist (from amd, "amd-catalyst-omega-14.12-with-dotnet45-win7-64bit") ran install and it made almost to the end and stoped with the screen blank with a blinking prompt w/ no responce and will not load normally.

Load in safe mode and update drivers via device manager for the 3000 and windows loads normal again.

Tried amd catylist from HP, seems to be older version, install goes to the end but basically does nothing. catylist controll will not open (says along the lines of no amd driver or driver not functioning properly).

Tried to install graphics driver for, i think, the 6770m from HP "sp54471" and it stated my computer does not meet mininum requirements.

Im at a loss at this point, sorry for the lengthy report, any info will be greatly apreciated.

To whom it may concern -

I'm enjoying my new computer, but have been disatisfied with my webcamera. It is grainy and less clear than my old computer I have had for 10 years. I use the camera as an important part of my business.

I thought I had 720P clarity?

Can you get me a clearer image?

Thank you!

hp 110-124 pc compatibility with 1920 X 1020 monitor

I have an HP 110-124 PC. I just ordered an acer G247HL monitor 24" with 1920 X 1080. I also ordered a dvi-d cable which has already arrived. A very knowledgeable friend just informed me that my PC will not handle a 1920 X 1080 monitor. He told me that very few PC's could handle full HD. Most can only handle 720p. He said I would be limited to a 1366 X 728 resolution. Is there some way I can go into settings on my new monitor and cut it down to a 1366 X 728 resolution and use my dvi-d (male to male) cable or am I going to just have to send my new monitor back.

My laptop is one year old. Few days back, I got fan replaced by HP engineer as it was making noise. Since then, my laptop went to sleep mode or sometimes screen turned off automatically while working. It turned back on when I pressed it from below or shaked the laptop a little. Power button light also didnt work sometimes and would flicker while working. Today morning, I turned off laptop after work. Now, its not opening when pressing power button. I also tried battery drain troubleshooting. Its out of warranty. Plz help.

Hehe finally i can type my story..

Oke i am new here,,,my name is brutus.

I own this laptop, and for a while now its haaving isseus with the ati drivers.

I get white lines in my screen and after a short moment bleu screen off death. Saying the ati display driver stopped working and crashed. So u think oke new driver will fix this.

But it did not fix it.

First time is saw white lines and it crashed. i reboot and try unistall old driver and download new one from ati driver support site. Try installing the driver. its completed after that again white line in my screen small thin lines less then before follolwed after crash and bsod.

i reboot again, and i go look for temperatures from the cpu and gpu.

Cpu was little high for my feeling gpu looks nice it was 51 and cpu 68.7celcius.

So i open up the laptop and take all parts out of it.

Cleaning all parts. untill i reach the motherboard.

I toke that out removed the heatsinks from the bord. and replace the heatpaste with new one.

Fit it back. clean the cpu fan and heatsink. rebuild the laptop. start it up. it boots fine.

Reistall windows on it. After installation w7-64b.

I go check for the cpu and gpu its temps again.

Woow nice cool temps. cpu 41 and gpu 35.5C

Ok i was happy updating the pc etc,,,no more white lines nothing all good.

But now 1.5 weeks laters  out of nothing white lines and bsod and crash.

Again bsod says display driver error faillure.

temps everything is good, no corrupt windows ore whatever.

Whats going on does some one can clear this for me and have a sollution.

On hp site there are no drivers for my laptop.

Or maby a bios update.

I am stuck what i can do.

Tryed allot to fix the problem but its back.

Graphics Detection issues on video games

$

I'm having issues with my laptop graphics and graphics detection whenever i play videogames. My main issue i am concerned about is the fact that whenver i play something remotely new, the game itself will try to detect my graphics card so it can adjust the graphics of the game accordingly to my system's specs but the game cannot detect graphics settings so i have to manually adjust the graphics on my own. i was wondering is this a problem lying within the operating system or is this hard coded in by hp? i just want to be able to have my games automatically detect optimal graphics settings so i do not have to mess with any settings on my own. any help would be appreciated. thank you

I have tried and succeeded in connecting a flatsceeen monitor to my laptop and it works fine after initial set up. However after closing the laptop down and restarting the system reverts to the laptop screen every time. Is it possible to run with only the monitor without having to reset it at each switch on or do I have to run both screens simultaneously.

Thank you

Black screen when computer is turned on

$

A few years ago, I bought this from Best Buy brand new. I turned it on one day and the keyboard's lights came on, but the screen remained black. I had a friend check it out and she thinks that its the battery. Another friend recently told me to take the battery out and see if it comes on...I did this and the same thing, keyboard lights but a black screen. He told me to put the battery back in but take it off the charger...same thing. He said something about it possibly being the video card and that if it is that then I may as well get another laptop. I'm completely confused as to what is wrong with it and don't know what else to do. I was thinking I could take it to Best Buy's Geek Squad but hear that they charge a lot of money. So my question is this: What else could be wrong with the laptop? It was only a couple years old when this issue came up so it's been put up ever since. What is making my screen stay black, as in not coming on period but the laptop itself comes on? All the lights come on but there are 3 tiny white lights that flash off and on the whole time but the screen won't come on period. If it is a video card, whatever that is, where would it be and would that be a possible issue? Please help! I don't wanna dump money into it if there's something seriously wrong with it. I still don't understand how its having issues when i bought it brand new. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Oh and the laptop hasnt been dropped or damaged, a little dusty now, but was physically taken care of. The screen hasnt been cracked or anything like that either.

Elitebook 8760w with HDTV as second moniter, windows get scaled up when moving from laptop to tv.

Display Adapter: AMD FirePro M5950

TV: Insignia NS-32L240A13

I recently purchased a DisplayPort to HDMI cable to connect my laptop (with the DisplayPort) to my HDTV (with the HDMI port). When I hooked them up and extended my display to the tv, everything looked fine at first. The operating system was displaying my desktop on the tv exactly as I expected it to. However, when I moved one of my windows over (Google Chrome to be specific) from my laptop to the tv, the window's size got bigger. I immediatly thought this was a resolution problem so I opened up the AMD Catalyst Control Center to check the settings on of my tv. It said the format was 1080p60 standard (1920x1080@60Hz), exactly what I thought it should be. Then I noticed that when I  go to Detect Displays and click Identify All, the big 2 that is supposed to appear right in the middle of the screen appeared in the lower right hand corner of the screen. From this, I determined that the problem must be that my graphics card thinks that my tv screen is bigger than it actually is. The first thing I did after that was update my Chipset and Graphics drivers, but that had no effect. After searching every nook and cranny of Catalyst Control Center and attempting to find someone else on the internet with this specific problem, I haven't been able to find any way to get my windows down to the right size, and to get that 2 (from clicking the Identify All button) to appear in the center of the screen where it's supposed to be.

A few extra notes:

  • In Microsoft's screen resolution menu in the Control Panel, clicking identify with my tv selected puts the 2 in the center where it should be, so it's only Catalyst Control Center that gets it wrong.
  • I tried using a different tv, but it had the same problem.
  • When I connect my laptop to my tv using a VGA cable, everything looks fine and is the correct size. (My VGA cable is only a few feet, so I would have to buy a longer one in order to actually use it; I'm trying to avoid that. And honestly, a DisplayPort to HDMI connection should work better than a VGA connection anyway.)

If you have any ideas as to how to solve this problem or if you need more information, please let me know.

Thank you for your time.
