I am trying to mirror my HP Pavilion 14-b172tx to my sony bravia 50w800b LED TV. I can Mirror my Samsung Tab 3 & Samsung E7 to my tv. But when i try to mirror my laptop to tv, first it says "Prepairing to mirroring. Please wait." and after few time it says "Device connection failed."

I've tried all different connections (HDMI, VGA, DVI) it's all the same all. Things like Ableton Live 9 will look horrible, but like if I'm browsing on google it looks okay. Certain colors don't look right either sometimes, esoecially when Im playing a game. I have tried the monitors factory reset also with no avail.
The original HP customized Intel Display Graphics driver that came with this computer, was last updated in August 2011.
That driver is too old to work with some of my new graphics programs.
After much searching I found that the Intel 3000 HD Graphics Driver would install and allow my newer programs to work.
However, somewhere between then and now, the older, original driver was reinstalled.
I went back to the Intel 3000, but is there a way to prevent the computer from reverting to the older driver?

After 2 1/4 years my laptop screen was barely readable even though laptop said fully charged. Installed new battery from Amazon, fully charged it, but screen was still barely readable. Screen brightness was good when charger was installed.
I recently updated my Hp laptop to windows 8.1, little did i know it was going to be more trouble than it is worth. now my readeon hd 5000 series graphics are not working ive tried updating the drivers and catalyst controll center, but all it did was screw up my laptop i coldnt even log in to uninstall the driver. i know my laptop has switchable graphics, but it is quite obvious that its not working on this operating system pls help i need to run windows 8.1 i am music production inthusiast. i also have a random device that is not working and windows cant find a driver for it.

I have an HP envy 15t running windows 7 pro. Recently i have run into some issues with it, and after having an hp employee work on it for a completely unrelated problem, I can no longer see the on screen images that used to appear as I turned the volume up and down, and adjusted the screen brightness. I can still do both of those things, but I want the visual images back. Is there a setting that was changed? I would appreciate if someone could tell me how to get those visual cues back.

I have a problem with my switchable laptop graphics (A4-6210 APU with R3 / HD 8570). When I try to run some games or more demanding application with high performance settings, applications are using only APU integrated graphics, but not dedicated. Even in game setting dedicated GPU is recognized, but the option is greyed out. I've tried to install both latest AMD Omega drivers (14.501.1003.0) and also HP provided drivers for my model (13.351.1105.1005) with no success. Also in BIOS there is no option to cofigure swtichable graphics.
Please, need some help. I'm pretty new HP and AMD user. I was used to intel/nvidia hardware, so maybe I am overseeing something. Thanks.
i need a new screen and battery which i will fit myself i have got part numbers from hp but are out of stock looking elswhere but am not sur how to make sure it is the right parts as some details differ such as the ah on the battery or the fixings on the screen can you help
I have a HP 15-f010wm Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR) which is SUPPOSED to have a touchscreen. However, the touchscreen is not responding to touch for no apparent reason. With a little bit of venturing, it seems that the touchscreen only works when it is in a certain angle (my notebook only reacts to touch in a 90 degree angle). My guess is that the flex is broken. What am I supposed to do?
PS I do not live in the states, I got the notebook as a present.

I'm running a HP DV7-2015TX and I am looking for a driver to kickstart the video card again following an upgrade from pre-installed Vista to Windows 8.1 after Windows Update cooked my operating system a week ago.
Is there any chance HP will provide drivers for Windows 8.1 on older computers, or is there any other way to start the video card again. The system doesn't even recognise that it is there and I have tried to do a number of different steps including running scans on the computer from the HP drivers section and installing and running programs from the AMD website .
Short of this being a terminal loss, would a newer video card be another option, or am I trying to flog a dead horse. It would be unfortunate if I was because it would be a waste of $70 in purchasing Windows 8.1 for this machine!
I only use this computer for work, but the smaller resolution on the windows basic monitor driver is extremely frustrating!! Not looking to play high-end gmaes at all, I just want a bigger resolution. I have a DV7-6013TX that I use at home, which has loved the upgrade to Windows 8.1.

recently i took apart my computer to clean the fan. after putting it back together i noticed the screen would switch to black. i would close and re-open the lid and it would turn back on. called hp support, went through diagnostics and a bios update to no avail.
i know the ribbons were properly when i put it back together so i started it in safe mode. after using it for a while i had no issues, so im thinking software?
i reformated and the screen no longer goes black but instead automatically switches resolutions and won't give me the option to use the largest resolution. then i noticed that the display seems to be stuck in 'dual display' or 'monitor mode'. if i try to change it to built-in display and increase the resolution to the actual max res the screen goes black and i have to restart it. no the computer will randomly decide that it can go to 1380 res, then all of a sudden it goes back to 1024. its pretty random. i do have an nvidia graphics card installed. it automatically switches from integrated to nvidia depending on its needs. at this point im not sure what to do. anybody else have this issue?

My laptop's glass has a crack in it which disables the touch screen capabilities. I am wondering if it's possible to just replace the glass instead of the entire monitor and then I will be able to use the touch screen again?
