there seems to be a bad connection between keyboard part and screen part if I move the top back and forth I eventually find an area where the desktop shows up. The rest of the time the screen is white.

DV8t 1200 base/trouble on screen display problems
I have a DV8T 1200 lap top and the base/trouble/volume OSD constantly appears on the screen and takes over the curser and controls until you click somewhere else on the screen. I see many others with this problem but no solutions yet. also, the wi-fi OSD turns on and off constantly if do not disable wi-fi or use a eithernet cord. Please post any solutions posible. Thank you.

Black screen after boot screen
Hit power button
All LED light come on
The boot screen displays, the screen that asks if you would like to use function keys to go into set up.
If no function keys are selected then the Laptop should go into boot up and then Windows start. This is where it does not, it goes to a solid black screen, no cursur, no written error on screen, no key board funtions working at all.
Now if the ESC key is pressed while the boot screen displays then the computer boots up fine and Windows starts.
I have re-flashed the BIOS, I have updated all the drivers, I have pulled my hair out.
I am not a pro but come to the game with a fairly good brain.
What you say? What should I do to make the HP boot up with out going to a black screen.

Turn on flashing lights error.
When I turn my laptop on the lights flicker on for a second then turns off. After a few seconds the system boots up. Can anyone tell me how I can fix this little problem? I know it is a little problem, but it can be annoying.

elitebook 840 g2 pixel flickering
hello everyone, I bought a Elitebook 840 G2 today. Unfortunately I am getting pixel errors/flickering all the time - even at the windows bootscreen. After unpacking and starting the Elitebook they were already there. I have installed new Intel 5500 graphic drivers without a positive result. I also installed all Updates from Win. Now I dont know what to do?

Video Card with TV Out (VGA) feature
Hello-
I have a HP Pavilion dv67700 Notebook PC laptop and the video card installed is NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS.
What I am looking to do is connect the VGA output from my video card to the RCA input on a VCR/DVD recorder. I have the cable that will do this (VGA to component RCA) and also the converter box (RCA component to RCA composite) so everything is set on that end, however, I am not getting a video image on my output device becase the NVIDIA video card in my laptop does not have the "TV Out" feature that I need in order to accomplish this. So what I am looking for is a VGA output video card with the TV Out feature that is compatible for my HP Pavilion dv67700 Notebook PC laptop.
Can you help me please? Thank you.

Display works on HDMI and VGA but not on Main Display
My G6 has been working fine for quite sometime. Just the other day the screen went blank. I can see the backlight on but there is no desktop. I use this machine quite frequently to watch movies on my Vizio Tv through the HDMI port. I tried re-booting the machine. I could hear it booting up but still no display. I decided to plug it into the TV and it displayed at that point on both TV and built in display. I can do this also with the VGA port as well. When I remove the cord from the ports I can no longer see the display. It will now only work when I have it plugged into the port.

Black screen/cursor flashing after install ATI AMD drivers
I was playing the game (assassin's creed III) and paused it, after some time I back on the laptop, and tried to unpause it. but it didn't work, my screen just froze, I couldn't even minimize it. After some time when nothing happened I decided to restart my laptop and windows did not start, repair fuction did not help either. After all I decided to reinstall windows the laptop works on Intel HD 3000 graphicks, but does not on AMD Radeon HD 7470M, during the installation when catalyst tries to install video display driver screen flashes couple times and goes to black with the flashing cursor. After that nothing else happens, it stays like this. I can continue to windows just by using restore point.

My display driver keeps crashing when using steam games and the internet
My display driver keeps crashing on my laptop whenever I play Dota 2 or Team Fortress 2 on steam. This is baffling to me...because I had a laptop that didn't have as good as a processor and a graphics card and those two games ran great. I bought this laptop for two reasons:
1: To be able to do my college assignments and check up on assignments online.
2: To be able to play the games that I love to play.
Now, if I'd have known that the display driver were to crash everytime I played one of those two games, I would have went with another brand. I have yet to fix the problem. I've updated my drivers, changed the settings to low on both games to make sure it wasn't an issue involving the game itself, and I have also bought cooling fans to fit under the laptop so that my laptop will not overheat. No difference has been made. This problem has been happening since I bought it 3 months ago. Now, I have a question: Is there any way, that I can fix the problems without having to get it fixed professionally? This laptop is the only way I am able to do homework outside of school and my work schedule prevents me from having the time to do all of my assignments at the college. I really do not want to replace this laptop but if I do, I unfortunately will buy one from another company. I had an HP Pavillion before a while back and it served me well. I need help here. Like I said, I really do not want to get another laptop. I frankly cannot afford it and I also cannot afford to get it professionally looked at.
The information I can provide is the following:

Screen Shake when using Laptop
My HP ENVY has recently been having some display issues. When in use the screen will shake in an up and down motion, such as clicking the windows button or typing on the keyboard. Anything new popping up on screen will cause the weird shaking.
If the Problem does not arise initially after startup it will not arise, but if it does occur it will not go away. In the past I would just turn off and on my computer until it started without the issue, but recently it will not start with the issue.
I have updated the BIOS, and Graphics Drivers.
I don't have any other ideas how to rid myself of this problem.
However, when playing games they will run without the shaking but on loading screens the games will shake.
Anything that I can try will be helpful.

Screen flickers continuosly
Hello,
I am experiencing screen flickers on my laptop and it is the second time it happens since I bough it. First time I sent it to HP center for repairing and they fixed the problem, now it is happening again and the laptop is out of warranty.
More in details, the screen flickers all the time, when I start the computer everything is white, then it starts flickering and I have to move the screen up and down until finding the righ inclination to fix the issue (sometimes I have to move many times to make it stopping doing such flickers on screen).
The video card is fine, in fact if I attache an external monitor, the flickers don't happen in the external monitor.
It is very very annoying and I use the laptop for work. I was wondering if anyone else had the same problem and if I can fix it myself without having spend money on it.

Dark Screen HP DV6
Hi,
i have Hp dv6 model wb320ea#abd.
my computer start normal and everythinkg is ok . just i see HP logo in startup dark and windows Logo and every thing is dark .
i took bottery out and hold 30 second Power buttom and again connected Ac and start .... but not fixed.
i connected another monitor and i saw everything in monitor and windows work and...
but monitor for Laptop is always dark and i can see just little.
i updated bios too but i have this problem .
pleaase help me.

Desktop files change position
I move my folders to the sides of the desktop, however every time I restart the folders move to the centre of the desktop and form a line down the screen. Very annoying as I have to move them every time as they are in the way - this has started since I added another monitor to the computer.
I have tried hitting "refresh" but no joy
