This is probably a regularly posted question, but it's mine all the same.

 

The drivers available on the HP support website for the Radeon 6770m is severely out of date by four years, only version 8, probably what comes packaged with the laptop to begin with.

 

I know for a fact that the AMD website already is at version 14, but downloading from there or any other third party website always causes an installation failure.

 

Is the support website and will the support website, ever release up to date drivers for the 6770m? And if the answer is a resounding no, what method is there to circumvent the installation blocks so that my AMD 6770m can install new drivers downloaded from other websites?

While the video card may work as intended, it's also not optimal, causing a game I regularly play to crash to the desktop constantly, an issue I believe may be mitigated by updated drivers (and if not, at least allow me to keep looking for solutions while upgrading my computer).

I recently purchased an HP 15-f101dx. The touch screen was working, but shorty became intermittent. Sometimes it would briefly after starting, sometimes it didn't wok at all. The touch screen is enabled, the driver is current, and I have installed the Windows updates. I took it back and was advised to do a recovery. If that didn't work, return it. Any advise?

I have installed win 8.1 on my new laptop. But I am not able to adjust the brightness. (as shown in picture)

Brightness is showing unavailable ,

 

also Sleep mode is not working.

 (not showing the sleep option )

Suggest some solution ?

I recently purchased the HP Envy 15-k151nr laptop online.  When I reviewed the images online I thought there was a VGA port as is/was common on most laptops, until now.....

 

I want to confirm the best method of connecting this laptop to my current VGA monitors.  I am interested in upgrading the monitor in the future, but at this point, I need to use it for a while longer.

 

I have found many USB/HDMI/Display Port to VGA connectors, but I am looking for the USB/VGA option as it appears to the be the best value.

 

Also, how do I determine if I have a "display port" on my laptop.

 

Love the laptop, but the technical information detail I received and/or found online with HP for my laptop is wanting.

I upgraded Windows 8.1  a while back from Vista.  Today, my computer locked up and shut down. I turned it on and the monitor had some weird stuff then it went gradually to black. How can I access my hard drive. I used to be able to with my wireless network, but with no monitor, I can't seem to log in.

 

I have an ethernet cable.

 

Any ideas?

I've connected my new HD monitor through VGA without any issues.  When I connect the Notebook to the monitor using a DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable and set the monitor in DisplayPort mode no connection is established.  My display adapters are DameWare Development Mirror Driver 64-bit and Radeon HD 6470M.  The monitor is an ASUS VE278Q. Is there some setting on the Notebook that I need to activate DisplayPort?  I'm assuming the cable connection should be sufficient for the monitor to recognize the Notebook.  Any help is much appreciated!

Hi, I just bought ab Hp laptop HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC 15 two hourss back from Target right here in canada and when I got home I tried switching on the laptop for the first time, the fan just spins and but the screen doesnt come on. I cant however return it back to Target because it has no return policy on it as target are actually closing all canadian stores. Could this be a minor issue or do I have to return back Hp factory center as it is still covered by warranty. thanks

Hi,

 

I would like to ask for help in restoring the touchscreen of my HP Pavilion Sleekbook 14-b090sd running Windows 8. I already followed the instructions in HP TouchSmart PCs - Troubleshooting touch screen issues in Windows 8 (from HP

's website) but it didn't solve the problem. I already did system restore but nothing happened. THen I restored the laptop to it's original state but still nothing happened. I then tried to install the graphics driver sp57846.exe  but it said the laptop didn't meet the min requirements. I think I've already tried everything but still touchscreen doesn't work. Did I miss anything? COuld you kindly help me solve my problem?

Hi all. I have an HP Pavilion dv6-3103sl with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 and an Intel(R) HD Graphics Card. The problem with those is that I cannot update them because they are commutable. I mean: there is actually a version for my ATI gpu but I can't install it because it wouldn't work as it should. Even the Intel(R) Driver Update Utility doesn't let me update the secondary gpu because:

So I want to ask if there is any chance to update my drivers correctly... or some fix, whatever.

PS: I don't think there is any updated BIOS to disable my switchable graphics card option

When I insert a HDMI cable into my pc I get no response at all.

 

My graphics drivers are up to date.

 

I cannot seem to find the HDMI port under Device Manager.

I tried rebooting and using a different cable, but still no response

Hi all,

 

I have a damaged screen on my Elitebook 8460p and I have it connected to an external display. The display works fine when windows loads but I am unable to get into the bios as it does not show anything until the Windows loading screen.

 

Is there a setting I am missing?

I hope u well.I want to discuss you this issue that when I play video song a problem occurs during playing video and screen become white colors for 2 or 3 second  after 2 or 3 minutes It happens when i start video.It happens during playing video 4 or 5 times it appers screen for 3 or 4 second.Kindly resolve this issue.

while my laptop will turn on and get to the login screen fine, as I log in the screen goes blank. I can access the hp simple pass for some reason and the screen responds to things like brightness. Its as the desktop simply refuses to display. I have tried retards and removing the battery. Any tips?
