Not too long after booting up my g7 Pavillion notebbok, the screen will go black. Some of the time I can get it to come back up by pushing on the upper left corner of mouse surface, where I believe the video connector cables are. One of my IT folks at work took the keyboard off and cleaned everything out, but I'm still experiencing this problem. Any ideas on what this might be? Do I need to have the video connector cable replaced? If I run an HDMI cable out to an external display, I do not experience the blackout.

Resolution/Blurry
Hello. I have recently purchased a HP ENVY 15T. I came equipped with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850M video card with 4 GB of memory. The recommended the resolution is 1920 x 1080, but the was hurting my eyes. So, I downgraded it to 1600 x 900. Most windows are clear, but some tend to be blurry.
What can I do to solve this issue?

LCD Locking Connectors Laptop Screen
I'm attempting to replace a laptop screen, after having successfully replaced a HP 15 keyboard.
I'm having trouble with the main connector, it doesn't want to lock into place, and I see no tabs or any type of release. I replaced screen with the last screens suggested replacement number.
Is there a trick to this? I'm a cyber security major, but making no connection...

Pavilion g6 graphics problem
Hello!
I'm having problems with my HP Pavilion g6-2379sr video drivers.
Operation system Windows 8.1 (x64)
Graphics: Intel HD 4000 + AMD 7670M
When i first installed Windows 8.1, my graphics drivers for Intel HD and AMD both came through WIndows update, everything worked fine, exept the fans were making alot of noise even when PC was idle. I was suggested that I should install official graphics drivers by manufacturer. So I downloaded AMD drivers (which should include Intel drivers aswell)
from HP support site for my specific laptop. And now the fun part begins, applications that were running 55 frames per second before, now dropped to only 3-5 frames per second, no matter which gpu I assigned to it.
I don't have anyting in BIOS settings related to graphics switching, and there is also no BIOS update available for my laptop running WIndows 8.1 (there are BIOS updates for windows 8, but im unsure if i should use this driver for update).
Device manager says that both graphics adapters are running fine, but obviously, they're not.
Any kind of help would be welcome!

Black screen on system start, before boot.
This machine had a noisy cooling fan for some time, then the screen suddenly went black but could see very dimmed images on it when using a flashlight.
Now the fan is quiet, but working and cooling, however the screen is entirely black after power up, the ESC to enter menu appears in orange color, then nothing at all. When pressing escape, it also goes entirely black. Can see the hard drive light flashing and have removed the drive to check it externally. The drive is fine. Different RAM makes no difference.
Is the graphics chip damaged and if so, can it be replaced in the Philippines at a service center?

linking lap top to play movies on tv
HI: attempting to link lap top to tv. Its an older tv so have a hdmi converter plus useing new coponent cables. Get a picture on tv but rolling. And are there any settings I need to hook up with tv. Could it be that puter digital and tv isnt.

Black screen off death~
This problem of mine started 2 weeks ago. At first ithought the LCD screen broke because the boot up was just fine but I noticed that the caps lock button was blinking every 2 or 3 seconds. As I'm a computer literate person, I thought the Ram was causing the problem so I took the Ram, cleaned it and then placed it back but still no display. Then I googled some troubleshooting methon and I found myself with the Hard Reset method. I tried it for many hours but still no display. So I disassembled my laptop and got the CMOS battery out, cleaned all the parts, reseated the CPU then assembled it again without the CMOS battery on but still no display. So I tried to get the Hard Disk out and reseated again the RAM and I powered up the laptop but still no display but fortunately I accidentaly yanked the AC Power Cord from the laptop so it turned off, (as I was doing all the troubleshooting, I did not put the battery of the laptop). So to my surprise, when I connected the AC Power cord back to the laptop and powered it up. It suddely worked. So I let the laptop turned on for a while and disassembled it again to place back the CMOS battery to the MOBO. The laptop worked for almost a week but suddenly the ordeal came back. I did what I did then but it seemed the method I used to fix it was not working then. So I stocked the laptop for 2 days then tried to fix it but still no luck. So I googled again for more troubleshooting method as a last resort before I will ask a technician for help and I found my self with the Power Cycle method. To my surprise, it fixed the problem. I'm now using the same laptop for this post 
. So, can anyone tell me whats really going on???

intermittant display
Recently my display has gone on the fritz.
The backlight comes up OK on power up, but the picture comes up for a second, then blacks out then comes up, then blacks out again and so on. When it comes up it is bright, but riddled with lines and impossible to make out.
I hooked up an external monitor and everything is perfect.
Any way to tell a cable problem from a connector problem from a bad display?

HP Pavilion 14z-n200 Touchsmart CTO Notebook touchscreen not working after update
More than a month ago I updated my HP Pavilion 14z-n200 Touchsmart CTO Notebook and after the required restart I noticed that the touchscreen had stopped responding. I have searched the forums and found that other members of the HP Pavilion Touchsmart family had the same issues, but their solutions have not solved the problem with my specific PC. Desktop Screen
When I started my laptop it showed the startup screen, then I entered my password and after loading it went to my desktop, but I am unable to view my desktop.

Envy 15 HDMI adapted to DP on Z23i does not display anything
Hi,
my dad is quite disappointed about our recent purchase of HP products.
This is what we bought:
HP Notebook Envy 15, offers only HDMI video connector.
HP Display Z23i offers no HDMI video connector, but DisplayPort.
So we bought an adapter cable from male HDMI to male DisplayPort (HDGear DisplayPort/HDMI Cable E301195 ), and firmly connected it on both ends.
Then using F4 ie display mode selector button we tried to extend to the external display. Nothing happpened on the display.
We then switched off and back on the Z23i display, and saw it scanning the three different input interfaces, including DisplayPort. No signal was reported for all of them. :-(
The same happened when we tried the other options the display mode selector offers: duplicate, only external display: no signal.
Cable was firmly attached on both ends. So what does that mean? Adapter cable defective? Wrong type of adapter cable? Or: Configuration will simply not work?
Looking forward to hear your ideas.

hp pavillon touch screen not responding
I got my laptop recently, around christmas. We ran into some problems, since it was shipped here and someone had gotten their hands on it (i.e, set up an account and password and force you to erase everything and reset the laptop).
It was working fine at first, the touchscreen and everything, but after a month or two if I closed the screen half-way when I used it the screen would act like it was being pressed everywhere. Whenever it happened, I just closed my laptop, and when I opened it it would be more or less okay.
I started disabling the touch screen instead, because I like working with it in the bed with the screen partially closed (my brother says that's why it's broken), but I've started enabling it again and it doesn't work anymore. Sometimes, the screen will react as if someone is pressing all over it, but when I actually press it it doesn't respond.
I keep the screen clean- it's not wet or anything.

When add to my HP Pavilion dv6 any monitor by hdmi monitor turn off and external monitor no signal
Hi.
I try to install windows 8.1 from clean hard disk and my system can't see external monitor(hdmi).
Then I make upgrade from win7 to win8.1 and while I install OS external monitor was connected via hdmi. And system find external monitor. Everything was good while I didnot try to connect instead this monitor my TV. When I connect TV via hdmi the same moment monitor of notebook turn off and system can't find TV. When making reboot - while loading windows, monitor turn off and external TV didnot work. When I replace TV with external monitor which work before - the same thing - while loading windows monitor of notebook turn off and there is no any image on external monitor too.
I had to make Recovering of Windows. What is this? How to repair this? How to connect TV to my notebook?
(fn + f5, win+p didn't work, I try)
(in win7 all works great - monitor and TV and I had making replacing of them, while system was working).

TS 14 Notebook touchscreen not working
The touchscreen for my HP Pavilion Touchscreen 14 Notebook (E1K07AV) has not been working for a few months (purchased 12/2013). I've tried all of the "fixes" suggested on your boards: updated, restored, Diagnostics UEFI (all checked out normal/working), PC settings (it finds "Mobile PC Display" Full windows touch support, but it doesn't respond at all to calibration), screen clean, etc. Please advise next steps and why this is happening.

The last occasion was after a java update, although this always happens with a browser window open. I have Mozilla, IE and Chrome installed and have seen it on all 3

Dont iniciate
Hi i bought this laptop last week and on the first Day that I use it when i iniciate and puts the password the vídeo comes black. I iniciate again and apears the login again and hapen the same again. Só i tried tô turn of at login page and iniciate again and has the sabe problem. its a new laptop so im gonna getulio a new one.
