Hello,

 

When I make a Skype call, both I and the person I'm calling can see the video of me, but in place of a video of the person I'm calling, all I get is a rotating circle of dots - the same as the ones that appear if there is a delay when the laptop is firing up for whatever reason.

 

I've run a diagnostic on my hub and it's told me twice it's fixed something - can't tell what - but no change in video not being displayed.

 

I'm using Sky broadband with a wireless link to the ADSL router - about 6 feet away from the router. Sky tell me I've got 4.3Mbps download and 0.8 upload.

 

I'm using the standard AMD Ratheon HD 76406 card that came with the laptop - version 13.251.9001.1001 (04/07/2014)

 

Any help would be appreciated!

A friend of mine has an HP ENVY TouchSmart Sleekbook 4-1115dx.  She puts the computer through a lot and recently, we found that the hinges had broken off the plastic in the screen and broke themselves.  This caused the front and back plastics of the screen to crack.  We were able to easily find the hinges and back plastic for the screen but the front plastic apparently is not sold separate from the digitizer (which I understand because it's kinda glued to it).  She doesn't mind if the laptop ends up being a non-touchscreen if need be.  

 

So the question is, can we get a bezel from another system that's the same size and replace the digitizer?  She's not really keen on paying over 200 to get that feature back.  She just needs the screen not to wobble while she's using it for work.

when ever i want to watch any kind of videos my screen just on the video goes green can hear it but cant see it

Hi there, I am having a trouble with a screen flicker or flashing frequently. Its HP Pavilion X2 10.1-inch Detachable 2 in 1 Laptop. It usually repeats when i get connect it to the internet or watch a video or the battery is lower then 40% or so?

Hello.

 

My notebook has been really sluggish lately, especially when browsing the internet, gaming or photo editing. It started a few weeks ago... never had any problems before. I didn't install any new programs, updates or drivers, so I don't know what caused it.

 

I did a clean install of  Windows 7-64bit last night and got all the drivers from HP support. It was still being sluggish, so I disabled hardware acceleration on Chrome and ie11 and that solved the problem on those two programs.. but the rest is still being slow (even the mouse pointer is lagging). So I'm thinking the problem has to do with the graphics card (?).It's a Radeon HD 6490m (switchable w/ Intel HD Graphics).

 

I have my power option set to High Performance and the switchable graphics set to High Performance GPU. Are there any other settings I could tweak? Or a compatible driver I could try?

I just got this computer and every video I try to watch is having issues. on both youtube and netflix the sound and video glitches out and sounds robotic for a second the back to normal and does it every 30 seconds or so.HELP I dont even know where to start. it does it in IE and Chrome. my internet speed is also high so not internet issue.

When I log on to my computer the desktop screen is just black, and I tried holding down the windows button and b button and the power button.  The power button light stays on and the caps lock button light just blinks I left it  like that for a couple hours and when I came back I could see my desktop so I thought the problem was fixed and I shut it down . Next day it did the same thing black desktop screen.

I have the model with an A8-6410.  

 

I have put together two systems with the AMD A-series processors, one with an A6 and one with an A10.  Two different motherboards, but the same process to modify the amount of RAM allocated to the internal video processor - go into the bios.

 

This laptop promises up to 2GB shared ram, much like any other current A series.  There is no place in either the bios or the HP diagnostic screen to modify shared memory.  

 

How do I change this setting on my laptop, if no there?

My laptop won't turn on and the rare occasion were it did when I unlock it the screen is black. I see the arrow and I am able to pull up task manager but that's it.

Please can anyone help me with a frustrating probelm which has ocured recently on my Presario CQ61 laptop?

 

Everytime I close my laptop the screen brightness is dull, the FN function keys for brightness do not work.

I have set my power plan to NEVER on all , but this still happens.

 

The only way I can get the monitor brightness back to normal is a restart! Before all this happened I did have issues that sometimes my laptop screen would not come on at all, I had to keep on closing and shutting it down , the in the end it would start up as normal.

 

I have tried installing the latest monitor drivers, my laptop is virus free etc...

 

Can someone please suggest a possible fix?

Huston I have a problem. Windows update updates my drivers of my graphic card. It updates the amd driver to amd radeon hd 7600M (4-7-2014) en de intel graphic driver to intel graphic 4000 (10/18.10.3958). The update causes a blue screen at restart of the pc (video_tdr_failure (atikmpag.sys)). Somehow the new drivers have a conflict.

 

The only solution is setting the system back tot the point before the update. and preventing any windows update. This is only a tempory solution because windows needs to update differnent funtions (example virusscanner)

 

Do you have a  solution (a updated driver voor de amd hd7600M perhaps or a way to prevent windows from updating these specific drivers

        Hi i have energy star notebook  Model no..(15-R031Si) product no....(J6Y43EA#ACQ) last two weeks i am trying to

        activate one of my USB ports two are working one port is dead and my notebook internel webcam is also not

        working rest is fine.my notebook had windows 8.1 now it got windows 7 64bit my device maneger is all ok no

Hi there, I have been tearing my hair out these last few days trying to get the touch screen working on a TouchSmart b14-178sa.

 

The old screen was burnt out (you could see the damage to the touch sensors), so I replaced the screen with an identical model.

 

The old screen wasn't even showing in the device manager, the new one is showing, indicated by the red arrows in the following screenshot.

 

 

I thought Windows 8.1 might be the issue so I downgraded back to Windows 8 and installed all the software/drivers from the product support page.

 

I also installed all Windows updates, the touch did not work from start to finish.

 

I have tried the steps outlined on a support page here.

 

Pen and touch is not available in control panel.

 

Despite the touchscreen showing in device manager, system properties says no touch available.

 

I have tried the AUO firmware update, which tries for a few minutes then just exits and fails.

Any suggestions you may have which might help would be greatly appreciated.

I have HP Pavilion 15-p153nm

Product No. K6Z56EA#BED

Os: Windows 8.1 Pro x64

Graphics (by device manager) Intel HD and NVIDIA GeForce 830M
Drivers: Intel Graphic Driver - 10.18.10.3958

                 NVIDIA Graphic Driver - 344.60

 

I see 3D options(settings) in NVIDIA control panel and in Intel graphics settings and my question is can I watch 3D movies on my laptop and if yes what kind of 3D glasses do I need? Any specific or e.g. any that comes with 3D TV?
