Formerly very occasionally, more frequently of late, I will be working away om my laptop and the screen goes dark. My workaround is to close the lid to put it into sleep mode and then resume Windows.
My screensaver is set up to go dark in two stages over several minutes, first dim, then dark, so I don't think it is related to that, as when this problem occurs the screen goes black instantly.
Hi,
I rebooted my pc several days ago. I installed new OS Windows 7 ultimate instead if Windows 7 Home Basic. I faced many problems like downloading drivers. I downloaded drivers but my display freezes frequenly all the time and shows message of display driver stopped and recovered. What is that and I cannot understand what to do?
Expecting anwer as soon as possible...
when i log on my hp sleekbook 14 pavilion laptop the screen goes blank.but i can see the cursor is moving.i can here the windows sound.i can work on safe mode.programms is running bt cant see anything.os is win 7
I recently reformatted my hard drive, and installed fresh version of MS Win 7 Professional. I was having trouble installing drivers for Radeon HD 8750.
I installed Intel HD 4600 drivers and they work ok. Then I downloaded driver from Drivers & Software for Radeon card, but that's when the problems started. At first it showed graphic card with ! mark in device manager, upon restarting there was no ! mark but then came the Windows update, which updated graphic drivers for Radeon card and CC refused to work with me. I couldn't start it any more.
I am not sure what to do... I uninstalled device from the system, because there was no option to roll back drivers, and it automatically installed drivers from windows update.
I am open for questions.
Thanks in advance,
Bojan
I have problems with graphics driver for Windows 7 (64-bit) provided on HP Support Center web-site for HP 255 G3 Notebook PC. After driver installation visual artifacts appear on the desktop and elsewhere. Driver removal helps to solve the problem with artifacts, but video adapter works inappropriately. I have also attempted to install the AMD Catalyst™ Omega driver proposed by AMD Drivers + Download Center, but the problem still persists. Are there any correct chipset/graphics drivers for Windows 7 (64-bit) / Windows 7 (32-bit)? Thanks in advance!
Wont play dvd
Though my laptop has no graphics card , Can I adjust graphics card on my laptop? If it is be possible than which model or which types of graphics card is suitable for my laptop?

Is there a difference between the graphics drivers downloaded through Nvidia GeForce Experience or through HP Support Assistant? Their version numbers don't match at all. I'm currently using GeForce Experience to keep my graphics driver updated, but I'm also having trouble with how loud the fan can be when playing games. Didn't realize just how loud it gets. Could it be that the HP-supplied driver is better suited for this laptop?
Appreciate any help.
message appears that display driver not responding.....
is this serious ??
Laptop boots up to black screen. I can get into it by booting into safemode with networking capabilities, but unable to get it to boot regular. I've done the reset by disconnecting everything and holding down the power and still no options. When I got to restore I don't have the option for a previously working scenario. Any assistance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
I have an issue with my Intel graphics driver
When I look at device manager under the display adapters it shows the Intel HD graphics familiy.
Looking at properties it seems as if its working OK
driver is updated
but I can't get the HD control panel to work. If I double click it it just does nothing
Also, if I do a right click on the desktop screen, go to screen resolution and then advanced setting then it shows I'm actually using microsoft basic display driver
I have tried reinstalling the driver after dowloadig it from the HP support website , uninstalling it from device manager and rebooting, using the HP support assitant and still I can't get the intel driver to work
And I cannot use a projector with my lap top since when I press the windows+P it is saying I have the wrong driver.
I really need to enable the driver so I can use the projector
Any help would be greatly appriciated

My hp pavilion x360 was working fine today inthe morning when I turned it on it all seemed normal I put in the log in password and once I hit enter the screen went balck bu hte cursor was still showign how do I fix this problem since I really need it for school????
I just bought a Pavilion 11-n040nb x360 and I'm planning to buy a few more for work, but I have a problem I wasn't able to fix so far.
On the OEM Operating System the touchscreen was working without a problem. I then installed an SSD-drive and created a new partition with a clean Windows 8.1 install. From the first startup the touchscreen isn't recognized by Windows.
The touchscreen itself is still working in BIOS/UEFI-setup and the diagnostic tool proves there's nothing wrong with the hardware itself.
I found a lot of posts from people with the same problem and tried really every tip, a lot of different drivers and software, but still can't get it to work.
More usefull info:
- HD Graphics 10.18.10.3366 driver installed and in use
- Synaptics 18.0.4.81 driver installed and in use
- Windows is up to date (no recommended or optional updates available)
- Windows system screen shows the message 'pen or touch input is not available for this display'
- No unknown devices in Windows device management (all drivers installed)
- Looks a bit weird to me: in device management, next to the Synaptics PS/2 Port Clickpad, there is another device called "HID-mouse" with hardware ID HID\VID_0461&PID_4DF1&REV_0300&Col01 but I can't find any other drivers for it than the default Windows-driver, I'm thinking this might be the touchscreen hardware?
Any help on how I can get the touchscreen working on this clean Win 8.1 Pro install?!
when i click on a picture in the photo gallery it will not open and message says THE REQUESTED OPERATION REQUIRES ELEVATION. What does this mean and how can i fix it
