I updated my laptop to windows 8.1 and since then my screen has started flickering and the colour balance has gone all wrong. I have spoken to microsoft and there was nothing they could do, so I guess it is something wrong with the physical computer, I may need new screen or something to do with the display, all of my display drivers are up to date. My question is, how much would it cost to repair or fix this issue?

Webcam's not in start menu, but it's downloaded. hp Probook 4520
I have a probook 4520 and I can go to the device manager and my webcam is there but when i go to the start menu and try and search for it, it's gone.
I've downloaded everything, I dont know what to do anymore. im horrible with computers, please help.

GPU does not clock above 200 mhz.
Model is G6R79UA#ABA
The GPU on the APU never clocks above 200 mhz, on either battery or main power. Power settings for the ATI card are set to "Maximize performance"
Power plan is HP recomended.
I've had this problem from out of the box. Resetting drivers and updating the radion drivers have not helped.
performance of the r7 graphics on the FX 7500 apu are very nearly the same as r5 graphics on a 5200 apu with r5 graphics.
HP Support was unable to solve the problem.
What I suspect is that there wasn't a lot of power headroom available, so HP throttled the GPU, but I haven't heard one way or the other. Would be nice to get to the bottom of this.

connecting mini pc to 24" monitor HP LP2475w

I have this excellent monitor HP LP2475w. My old computer is dead, and I want to connect a mini-pc to it via HDMI. But the picture does not fill out the entire screen on the monitor.
The mini pc is ASUS T100T and the resolution of that is 1368 x 768 maximum. The resolution of the HP monitor is 1920 x 1200. So that might be the problem? But how do I change the resolution of the HP to fit the ASUS? There is no other computer connected. I only have the buttons on the edge of the screen.
My HP is calibrated and adjusted to my old computer and colours are not so good with the ASUS connected. What can I do?
Plans are to buy a bigger laptop, but when I choose size of laptop, it is essential for me that I can use my good HP LP2475w.
Any advise as to what will work together in terms of size?

Hola tengo problemas con mi laptop..comenzó que cuando prendía se quedaba en la pantalla con el logo hp..y calentaba mucho.. le hize mantenimiento limpiaron el ventilador luego de eso prendió normal..y ya no calienta ..paso que lo Prendí siguiente día y volvió a quedarse en hp la pantalla..luego de ya solo prende la pantalla se queda en negro y las luz led de los teclados pardean las q esta x letra mayúscula...quisiera contactarme con un técnico porque voy al soporte tecnico y busco lugares no me sale nada..espero su atención gracias buen dia

Laptop not working and hard drive too
Every time I played a game on my laptop I would get a blue screen and the error IRQL_DRIVER_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (igdkmd.sys) and I looked it up online where i found a guide telling me to disable my intel hd 4000 graphics card and when i did that my computer stopped working properly, my desktop icons disappeared, I cant use the internet or file explorer, which I need to re-enable it. Also when I did a full computer scan by pressing F2 during startup I got an error code, 9LNFUF-6PC7GJ-MFGJXG-60X803 which is apparently a fault in the hard drive, I think I still have a warranty in case thats of any use. I need my laptop up and running for schoolwork and for use around the house because it is my only computer.

HP Pavilion G7 Screen is Black
Hello, I did some reading on this forum. I thought I was close to seeing someone with the same problem as mine. However, close but no cigar. So, I have a friend who has an HP Pavilion g7. He told me that the computer screen had gone black. He connected his computer to an external display and it worked. However, it is completely black on the laptop screen. Any suggestions? He would like to be able to view his material on the actual laptop screen.

Adding a tv monitor to Pavillion notebook with windows 8 via HDMI.
I am trying to add my LG Smart TV as a monitor to mirror what is playing on my notebook.
I have a new HDMI chord connected to both the TV and the notebook correctly.
I have found Display > Screen Resolution > Change the appearance of your display in the control panel, however it only shows the 1. Mobile PC Display.
In the Advanced settings it shows AMD Radeon HD 7420G. In the AMD Vision Engine Control Center > Desktop and
Displays
> Add/Remove Displays > Detect Displays it shows only a picture of a laptop 1. DDC Display with a check mark and 'Detection is Complete'
What am I missing? Could someone offer insight? I feel quite useless and Windows 8 is definitely not helping me. Appreciate any help. Thank you

I have just faced a serious problem with my new Probook 455 g2.
Operating system installed Windows 8.1 with all updates till 18. January 2015.
I have downloaded my graphics drivers from the official HP support and drivers page, downloaded the latest. Catalyst installs it self very well, the two graphic card's drivers as well! So it seems perfect, when I look for it in device manager, the drivers without problem standing there.
AMD Radeon(TM) R5 Graphics
AMD Radeon(TM) R6 M255DX
But the R6 graphic card doesn't work at all! I can't change the system's graphic performance, Catalyst shows everything okay, but it's not.
Tried...
Bios dual graphics options enabled,
Older version AMD drivers and CCC (everytime uninstalled, cleaned properly, regkeys too)
Official AMD CCC downloaded, not from HP page, it does the same...
Does anyone have a correct idea? I'd appreciated it very much!

Hola necesito ayuda mi laptop fue calentando mucho y por momentos cuando prendía demoraba en hacerlo ..y el sistema estaaba lento..luego cuando. Prendi después de unos días me sale solo en la pantalla el logo hp y no inicia windows y en el teclado la letra mayúscula el led parpadea..lo q acudí es reiniciar y no tuve resultado..en lo cual lo lleve a q le hagan una limpieza..y habia polvo x ventilador y luego de eso ya no calentaba mucho y volvió aprender el windows normal.. Pasa que lo quiero utilizar el siguiente día prendía pero ya solo aparecía la pantalla negra..y trato de contartarme con un técnico de hp y pongo en buscar soporte técnico no tengo resultados ...esperó su atención gracias

G60-100EM DARK SCREEN
Hi everyone, I have a G60-100EM, which up until yesterday was working fine.
It now boots up ok but has an extremely dark (nearly Black) screen, so dark it is unusable.
I've tried turning up the brightness, but to no avail.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, have had my laptop for a year now and when purchased came with windows8 at that time it would play shop bought dvd's and music cd's I then upgraded to windows 8.1 and now drive does not play either,the drive can be heard spinning but that's all.
Have done the usual checks which say drive is working ok,drivers up to date etc.
Any ideas????

NO Audio HDMI on HP 17-j001eb with Windows 8.1 Pro to Sony Bravia KDL-40W5500

When I connect my pc for watching movies on my tv, I have no audio.
This is my setup:
I've a Sony Bravia KDL-40W5500. He is connected to my Sony Multichannel AV Reveiver (output) (All my hardware -> decoder, BD player, ... Are conntected with the receiver (input). There is just one HDMI cable to my TV.

When I conntect my PC ( HP 17-j001eb ) with HMI on the receiver (Sony STR-DH500) input (Exampel DVD or, SAT, or whatever ...). I select hdmi as a default output and I play a movie ( extention-> .mkv), there is video on the tv but no sound. I search on this forum en I try many solution but The problem is staying .
I play the movies with Cyberlink Power DVD.
I select my output on my pc to HDMI as default (my pc is in Dutch):
In power DVD is the audio HDMi as default selected.
I run Windwos 8.1 PRO.
What do I wrong?
Is there anybody who can help me?

Hp stream 7 tablet-random resolution change
Hello, so I bought my tablet about one month ago, and it's been working perfectly until one morning when I opened my tablet and the resolution was very blurry, then when I tried to go on internet explorer it said that "the resolution is too low and that I need to change screen resolutions" it gave me an option to change the screen resolution but when I clicked it, the page went grey. Then after that, I clicked the screen and I would be back at the desktop. I cannot access and of my apps, and I tried to go into PC settings to change the resolution but it says the resolution is too low. Please help!

Black fuzzy dots/dirt stuck in display??
Hello,
I have owned this laptop for about a year now and it's been great, but there is something weird going on with the display. Its dirt or something stuck inside the screen, it's not any dirt on the outside. I emailed support about this and I did not get a response. The dots are not dead pixels, which makes me think its dirt stuck in between the glass. I would really like to get this fixed under warranty, as its something I couldn't cause myself. I've included a image (the dirt is really prominent next to the "Ease of Access" module).
