Drivers for AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 + ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650

Hello everyone. I am the "lucky" owner of HP Pavilion dv7-4070er.

To start with I use Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit version

Till the last month I had no problems using my notebook. But then it occured to me that new drivers for my video card were need since my notebook is already 4 years old. Plus I started to notice that there were some minor issues when I watched videos or played games. The answer was obvious - just download new drivers and voilà. I never realised how wrong I was and how much pain it would cause. As I considered myself a smart person I looked up for what exactly needed to be upgraded. Turned out I have two video cards. But unlike owners of dv7-4070us mine were not ATI+Intel but

AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 + ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650.

And then the circus began.

I spent 6 days(almost 7 hours a day) looking for a way to download and successfully install new drivers. AMD told me to ask HP and HP revealed that there're no drivers for my cards(suitable for my notebook). So I turned to forums. I read EVERY single thread related to my video cards. But sadly the only working solutions were provided for ATI+Intel video cards. I found no working solutions for ATI+ATI. To be honest, there were even no at least clear ways to install drivers on ATI+ATI.

Well, now I'm in utter despair. My notebook is a really powerfull machine. It works great even when I'm playing DA2(as example) on high settings. And it's a really good one for a student like me. Do I have to say that I currently have no ways to buy a new one?

I can't be the one with such problems. And I am definitely not the only one who decided to ask for help. But still the question is: Can someone help me to install new drivers on my ATI+ATI video cards? Or at least give new ideas to test.

dv7-3165dx led backlight lcd not working.

So the other day my laptop screen went out. i read about the dreaded black screen of death. Did a whole bunch of research and learned about the gpu needing reflowing, AND how to reset you computer and the blink codes and all that Jazz. i did the external monitor thing and lo-and behold everyting was fine. All it was, is that the monitor is not turning on. So I proceed to open it up and check all the connections. Everything is connected and all the plugs are clean. Did a full clean on the whole computer. I even reseated all the connections, made sure i have all the proper drivers and everything is up to date. NO conflicts anywhere.

But still no monitor. Still I research again, some people say could be inverter board, but mine is led backlight. So there is no inverter board to change.  I reopen everything and check one more time. One cable looks a little off angle reseat it and try again. STILL no monitor. Shut it down and start it up the next day, BOOM it has lcd life!??!?!?!?!

Start playing everything as normal and test it by putting it into sleep mode. It starts right back up. I turn it off all the WAY. Restart and she is dead again.

This is where I am stuck. The Lcd right angle connector looks a little pinched but I don't know what is causing this. Can you help ME PLEASE!

Again everthign works on external monitor. Sound works, Camera works, just no screen, EXCEPT once until full cold reboot. Then she is dead again.

Is it the cable?

Or is it the GPU?

Or is it the LCD screen?

OR something I may not have identified?

Any help is appreciated.

Hello,

Can anyone tell me if HP sells replacement screens for the HP Spectre x2 computer? I recognize that HP can repair the device, but find the $300 repair cost outrageous.

Screen distortion, flickering and unusual lines on the display

I have purchased the laptop 3 months back and it worked perfectly for a couple of months but since last month, the display of the laptop started acting strange. Initially, there were problems in the startup i.e the screen went blue or black or pink till the password window appear, but now all of a sudden there is another more critical problem arose. The display is flickering continuously and there are multiple lines beneath the taskbar and on upper part of the screen. I have tried reinstallation of display drivers and some other solution provided on the website but nothing worked so far.

When I stream any video, all I see is solid Green Screen. I can hear the volume perfect.

When trying to stream video on the internet (any site), when I click play it instantly goes solid green screen for video, but sound still works.   It happened a couple weeks ago and other advise i found told me to use Windows Restore to "reset it to a previous point before this problem started. Well it worked, just not for very long.

This is sooooo frustrating. WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN?  I'd like to understand whats really happening here. And how to remedy the problem instead of putting a Band Aid on it using Windows Restore to previous point.  Can someone PLease HELP!!!

I'll need that in Laymans terms by the way. Thanks

slim docking station 2013

Apparently, HP produced a docking station with non-functioning DisplayPorts? Running the latest kernel and Intel drivers with MST-support, and still not able to get any monitor recognised on any DisplayPort. Only the VGA-port is functional. Have anyone had more luck, tips, alternatives? For now, this is just one big (non-slim) USB-hub to me.

HP G62 Laptop won't run.

Hi there

My G62 laptop will turn on when I press the power button however nothing is displayed on the screen. The fan can be heard running and the light next to the power button stays on as normal. No lights can be seen on the Caps Lock and the wirelesss light stays orange.

I've connected the laptop to an external screen however nothing is displayed. I've tried turning the laptop on/off with and without the RAM/HardDrive/Battery but still nothing is displayed on the screen.

Is there anything else I can try?

Apreciate your help and sorry if this problem is already mentioned on another forum.

Regards

Mat.

I can't seem to find a definitive answer on the best way to connect 2 external monitors to a 90W docking station.

I would like to run 2 external and keep the laptop open for email if possible with this setup.  Does anyone have experience with this to point me in the right direction?

Strange vertical bar at right side of screen.

Booted up in the afternoon after everything being normal in the morning. The logo and loading wheel were slightly to the left on start up and when I went to enter my password, there was a faint line down the right hand side of the screen (about 1.5" in) and the image seems to blur horizontally from there. When I got into my desktop, the toolbar had also been pushed off the bottom of the screen. The touchscreen of the blurry section still works.

No idea how it happened (as I said, it was fine when I left) and hoping it can be fixed!

Thanks!

Graphic drivers for HP G61

I'm looking for new Graphic drivers for the chipset on my old laptop, a HP G61 Notebook PC, but can't find any. Those I've tried says that the computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements for that type of driverupdate. Am I forever lost in this search or are there any updates avaible?

Long time ago I played the earlier versions of HoN quite flawless on low settings with this machine and wounder therefore if it will be able to pull of Dota 2 (on the lowest settings)?

Tried the program Driver update with no success regarding the Graphic updates.

Best regards

Don't know if it makes any difference but here is a DxDiag report.

A year ago my lan port was not working so hp support changed my motherboard. Ever since it has been a nightmare for me. Non of the display driver seem to be working on my 6121tx. I installed win 8 and installed the display driver sp59850 which was suggested by hp. It worked for 9 months. A week ago I was playing cs 1.6 online , my display freezes. I had no other option other then holding power button n sut it down. Since then no and driver seems to be working for me. I tried win 7 win 8/8.1 and hp recommended display drivers but non of them worked not even the erlier sp59850 is installing now. Now while installation windows freezes and if somehow installation completes on rebooting I get a black screen.
If anyone knows what kind of issue it is plsss help me out. Its extremely frustrating.

Spots on screen

I purchase Hp envy touchsmart j109tx.I donot know what actual problem is .A huge single white spot and few single single spots appear on the screen.I am  sure  that it is not external damage caused by any sharp object. After browsing the internet a came to know about the issue "Insertion of dust particle inside the screen".

Dust Particle insertion - Who is reponsible for this??

Customer who cares his laptop protect it from external damage. And recently seen a spot on screen which the company says it is dust inserted inside the screen which is due to dust particle on keyboard.

Company which does awake the customer about this problem that could arise in future.Or call it a manufacturing defect for a gap between the screen and LED due to which it enters.

A great tragedy company claims in Accidental warranty "U BROKE WE REPAIR".But if unknowingly these particles enter they call it a minor defect and does not provide the solution.

If the Laptop screen is broken Accidentally they replace it.But if the spot appears on the screen they close the case providing no solution.

I have regular warranty and Accidental Damage Protection But still my problem of spot on screen is not resolved.

screen distorted after sleeping or start up

When I wake my computer up from sleep the screen  used to, at times, be distorted in that the words would be widened.  I would put it back to sleep and usually it would fix itself but not always.  Sometimes I would have to restart it or completely shut it down but as of today I can't get the distortion to go away.  It started doing this within the first year I bought my laptop; I've had it about 27 mo. now.  Could someone tell me what I need to do to fix this annoying problem?

Where can I find Video driver to support W 8.1 for my Envy 14?

$

System:

HP Envy 14t-1200 CTO Beats Edition Notebook PC, Product XQ103AV.

System came with AMD High Definition Graphic Driver, version 8.771.1.0 Rev.   March 13, 2013.

My system screen turns black after updated to Windows 8.1.    I went into Safe Mode to delete the Video driver updated by Microsoft (AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000 Series)  in order to eliminate black screen.

I tried to re-install original (above) Video driver in Windows 8.1, but it won’t work.

I also visited AMD website and download Video drive, but still it won’t work.

Please assist me into getting the right video driver that I can use for my system.

Thank you

Tom
