Hi guys. I'm new to this forum so I'm not sure if this is the correct category.

 

Okay. I have been getting this error ever since I bought my ENVY M6 notebook. It's still under warranty.

 

"Display driver AMD driver stopped responding and has succesfully recovered"

 

The catalyst everything works fine. Nothing will run on the radeon card for some unknown reason.

 

I have tried the following and have failed. : (1) Uninstalling old drivers, installing new

                                                                                       (2) Completely removing old drivers from system ( registry included ) then     downloading new! Same result. Same error.

                                                                                        (3) I tried drivers from HP aswell. Guess what? Same error!

 

It's an Enduro system. Intel integrated graphics with Radeon 7670M. Windows 8.1 64bit!

 

Ok I also want to know that whenever I open run and open DirectX Diagnostic Tool. On the Display tab, it will show the intel graphics only. When I disable the intel from device manager, it'll show Microsoft Basic Display Driver.

 

 

This is very frustrating for me.. this is the first time I bought a notebook from HP with switchable graphics! So far the experience has been very bad as I haven't been able to run ANYTHING on the Radeon card.

 

What should I do? Please provide some solutions other than reinstalling drivers. 

 

I know that this is a problem not only for HP users but pretty much to every notebook with such a system.

 

Thanks for reading this! Please provide a solution. I didn't splash cash for only Intel HD 4000.

I replaced the left hand screen hinge on the laptop and since the it will not switch on there is charge power to the battery just nothing when I press power button

Hi, i work professionally for magazines, and start of 2014 i got a 8770w Dreamcolor for working on the go. Since the beginning i was not satisfied with my displays color, so about 10 days ago i got a B1F63AA HP DreamColor Calibration Solution to calibrate it.

 

I really have to tell you that the computer is working flawlessly, is very fast for my job and very stable, never crashed once so far, but i am having big trouble trying to calibrate my 8770w Dreamcolor's display.

 

The software installs and runs just fine, the procedure of calibration goes through just fine, the generated color profile for my external display is pretty good, BUT whatever i try concerning my 8770w's display just doesn't work. And i don't mean the calibration is off or that i am not satisfied with the outcome, what i mean is, that after completion of the calibration process an icc color profile is generated, but nothing is stored in the display's hardware memory and/or MDA, like nothing happened (nothing changes, everything is exactly the same as before calibration)!!!

 

I am at a loss here, either i am doing something very stupid or something is really wrong, software or hardware... please help me.

 

My hardware is:
HP EliteBook 8770w cpu i7-3920XM, ram 32GB 1600MHz, gpu NVIDIA Quadro K5000M
HP DreamColor Calibration Solution B1F63AA

 

My software is:
Windows 8.1 Pro
HP Mobile Display Assistant v3.04
HP DreamColor Calibration Solution v2.2.0

Hello,

My screen is showing colored lines horizontally and vertically. Changes somewhat with movement, shows on bios screen, never disappears. This is my only computer, a Pavilion G7-2223NR. Windows 8. Please advise.

I was using my laptop and it was working fine. I closed it for a few hours and when I went to use it again the screen is black, the caps lock and num lock buttons are flashing, the fan is working. I have tried the things in the troubleshoot. Is there anything else I can do?

Hi...I have a HDX 18. I recently reformatted the hardrive . My problem is that everytime I attach the HDMI cable it switches into what I think is safemode or low resolution and will not connect to my flatscreen. It freezes. It will go back to normal when I disconnect the cable. I also keep getting a notification that the USB hardware is not recognized when noting is connected. I have one USB port which does not function. I have no idea what to do.

I have a hp pavilion g7 with a shattered screen in Jacksonville, AR and I am looking to replace it somewhere closer to where I live as opposed to having to mail it out to have it repaired. I am needing any information as to how I can do so.

I was streaming/watching something via Amazon and then the laptop overheated. Since then I cannot stream/ watch anything from Amazon anymore but I can watch things from I-Player, YouTube and the like. How come? I've contacted Amazon and did everything they told me but it still doesn't work. They then told me to contact HP because they can't help me any further. What can I do so that I can stream again from Amazon? Thanks!

I received a HP Stram Notebook 11 for christmas in 2014. One day I was using teh computer and the screen just went black and it won't cut back on. When i hit the power button it lights up but the screen stays black. Any help because my warranty ran out?

The touchscreen is not working any longer, just a few hours on the laptop.  The Human Interface Devices entry under the device manager has a hidden device titled HID Compliant Touchscreen.  Clicking the properties of this device it says that this device is not connected to the computer.  To fix this, reconnect the device to the computer.   So HOW DO I RECONNECT THE TOUCHSCREEN TO THE LAPTOP COMPUTER?

So, the touchpad is incrediby touchy, and it has a weird zoom function. If I cannot disable this awful zoom function, I will seriously return this brand-new laptop. I have searched the internet for solutions, and I viewed a previous post on this website about this exact issue. However, I think that was for a different operating system; it did not work on my computer. I could not find anything in the control panel related to pinch zoom, but I might be doing it wrong.

Any help at all is very much appreciated. Thank you!

I have only had this computer for less than 2 months and the touch screen has cracked. Like others who have had this happen, it is only the result of pushing the lid open near the holes that perforate the extremely thin glass. And possibly due to hinges that are a bit on the stiff side. I dont know if it would have cracked anyway if I had been more careful and only pushed up from the 3mm edge of the bezel. Anyway, I can live with the fact that the glass is not covered under warranty and I take responsibility for cracking the screen, but it is absolutely not OK that I am required to replace a perfectly good and undamaged LCD in order to have a fully working computer again. Clearly the glass is a separate part that can be replaced in 5 minutes and one that is designed to break very easily. I can easily purchase one on Ebay, but HP will not sell me one. What's going on here?

 

I would like someone to explain to me why this is OK? This is the kind of stuff that makes people crazy and clearly damages HP's reputation. I will not replace this LCD if it is not damaged or malfunctioning and everyone who sees my broken laptop will hear why it remains that way.

  I had my laptop for more than 3 years now, no problems at all if anything sometimes it got a little more warm than the usual, and fan was working faster when I played movies on it. A week ago, I hit power button and got only a black screen. Tried hard reset and did not work. I tried to get into the BIOS to change the booting options to boot from my externa HDD were I made my back up, but I can't access the BIOS at all (tried f10, f9, and f2 options). Everything points to a "dead motherboard". Before taking it apart does anyone have any other possible fix.

HP community claim that the graphics card installed on my system is an AMD Radeon HD 6770M (1 GB DDR5).

 

 

However, I think that it is an ATI Radeon HD 6770M (1 GB DDR5) since I have noticed  ATI Radeon on the results  when running a hardware reading program:

 

First:: If my Graphics installed were AMD Radeon HD 6770M, then why The CPU-z program showed me ATI Radeon.

 

 

 

 

Also, in the existing package in the screen shot below, there is ATI Display Adapter

 

 

 

 

Second: If my Graphics installed were AMD Radeon HD 6770M, then why The Windows 8 Upgrade assistnat program showed me ATI Catalyst Control Center
