Windows 8.1 does not recognize Touchsmart
Windows 8.1 Pro does not recognize Touchsmart. This work like a mouse when I click on the display. In properties of system, says that won't have a pen and touch. Anyone know how to fix? Thanks.

HP Envy Touchsmart m6 Sleekbook: Multiple screen and non responsive touch
My laptop displays multiple screens from the moment i press the on button. The touch screen is also none responsive.
I have taken it to HP care centre (ensure Services) here in South Africa but they cant diagnose it or help me because it was purchased from the United States. It is still under warranty but that warranty only applies in the US.
They require a proof of purchase from the United States which I have misplaced.

laptop screen black but an external monitor does work.
I have Pavilion DV6. The screen went black. I have not changed anything & the drivers are OK. I tried the battery removal etc. suggestions w/ no luck. If I plug in an external monitor I can use the computer so I think the mother board & video drivers are OK. any suggestions before I just get a new computer? I really like this one.

Graphic issues
I have a ProBook 470 G2. I am playing Call of duty, Advanced warfare. There are some graphic issues in game play. Sometime the grapics doesn't diplay properly. Should that be ? Anyone know what the issues are regarding this. Please help

How do I remove the on-screen volume and brightness displays?
The on screen displays for volume and brightness controls on my ProBook 455 really lag behind pressing the buttons and aren't terribly helpful anyway. Can I remove them? I've seen people ask in the past and they are told about something called an "HP On Screen Display" or a "MediaSmart Menu." But my notebook doesn't have either. Does someone know another name for the thing I need to remove in order to get rid of this useless display?

How Update OpenGL Drivers on HP Pavilion dv7-6c43cl
I own a HP Pavilion dv7-6c43cl and use it extensively to do photo post-processing. One of the software programs I would like to use is Topaz Labs' "Impression." When I try to install it, it stops about 10% of the way through and gives me the following message:
this program requires OpenGL 3.2 or later.
Your system is running OpenGL 3.1.0 - Build 8.15.10.2476 on Intel(R) HD Graphics Family from Intel

A trip to the Intel site disclosed that Intel believes my graphics driver is proprietary to the hardware and that its generic driver would likely screw up my laptop. The HP drivers area on its website displays the 2011 graphics driver that is already on my laptop. Searching the web produces dozens of scam websites that promise to install the necessary driver if I agree to allow a lot of other bad things to happen.
Is there a straightforward way to get OpenGL 3.2 or higher on this laptop, or am I just out of luck? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Nvidia Graphics Card Issues With HP Envy Dv6
My HP Envy used to have a Nvidia graphics driver, and now, its not showing up in my display adapters folder, it only shows the Intel driver, and when I try to download a new driver from Nvidia, it says that the graphics driver could not find compatable software. Would this be a problem with the graphics card or my computer? Im running windows 8.1, and I recently had my hard drive and opperating system replaced because they were corrupted

laptop screen flickers white
I need to put "side" pressure on my AC plug to use my laptop. It is blank otherwise. Sometimes if flickers in white (has lines). I have put in a new battery but it has not changed anything. Also when I change the angle of the screen for viewing, it goes black and then will come back on. It acts like a loose connection somewhere and it seems to focus on the plug area but is not a power problem. This does not make sense to me.

Cyberlink PowerDVD 12 Playback Error
I have a HP 15-g094sa Notebook with Windows 8.1 (64-bit) and for the whole of my day yesterday, I spent time trying to make my PowerDVD 12 work.
A while ago I wanted to watch a DVD, and when it came to the language selection screen and just froze when I clicked 'English'. I opened Task Manager and ended the session, then tried to start the DVD again and it still froze there. I tried a few times, but with it still not working I just gave up.
Around a week later (yesterday), I wanted to watch a different DVD and after the opening scenes (e.g. for my FRIENDS DVD's it gets past the 'Warner Home Videos' opening), when it's about to go to the DVD's main menu, it comes up with the dialog box of 'PowerDVD12.exe has stopped working' and a crash report of 'Cyberlink PowerDVD cannot play back inserted disc. Code = 0102':
I tried to replace the files within the Cyberlink folder from my sister's HP laptop, but all I got was it having audio, no display, and the 'minimize, maximize and close' bar not being there.
I tried doing System Restore back to the 7th, which would just mean I'd get the original files back, but not far enough to the date it froze, but after that I got the message that it was unsuccessful due to my antivirus, I tried two other times with disabling my antivirus and both antivirus and firewall, but it still didn't work.
I uninstalled it from the Control Panel, and went to 'HP's Software and driver downloads' for my PC. I downloaded the recent PowerDVD 12, it went past the FRIENDS menu screen but played only 5 seconds of the disc before it gave me the error message again.
I tried to install later versions of PowerDVD 12, but this did not work.
These are the versions I attempted to install:
Browsing the forums I tried the HP System Recovery to reinstall it, it still didn't work.
(I noticed that when you install PowerDVD, it asks about loading/scanning files from my computer, after pressing 'next', it loads PowerDVD's home screen, and the loading symbol for the loading of my files freezes for a bit, then the error message appears.)
So now I'm completely stuck on what to do.
I tried with other discs to be sure, but just like FRIENDS, my Twilight DVD's go past the opening credits, but never reaches the main menu selection screen.

Driver issue
I use my HP Pavilion for gaming. This being said mainly World of Warcraft. I am getting a really bad memory leak because my video driver is out dated. According to Intel there is in fact a new driver update avialable but I have to use the one on the HP website and that's the one that is over a year old. I can update them manually from the Intel website but I know that isn't intended because they haven't been tested 100%. What should I do?
