HDMI is not recognizing the Vizio TV as addiontal monitor. Here are my computer details. I have tried using my friend's laptop which also has a HDMI port and his computer was able to recognize TV as an external monitor. I have tried everything like, (Fn+F4), adjusting the mobility settings etc. None of them worked on my computer. Neither the video nor audio are being detected in my laptop. Can anyone from HP support help with this problem ?

So, I'm trying to install the NVIDIA drivers for my laptop from HP's website, but when I get to the drivers page for my laptop, the only option for operating system is Windows 8 64-bit. Recently my computer forced me to change to Windows 8.1. Not long ago, HP still provided all the drivers on that page, but now the only thing available is "Order Recovery Media."
My card is a Nvidia Geforce GT 740m. Can I just get drivers from the official website?
I have a Pavilion dv6 laptop running MS7pro. The screen recently went black. I am running it using an attached monitor. The backlight is working. I suspect it needs to be re-plugged ie unplugged and then plugged back in. Any suggestions?
HP Dv7-3065DX Entertainment Notebook--I encountered this problem with my Hp laptop this evening. I had a recipe pulled up on the internet for some time, the computer was idle for almost two hours. After dinner I remembered I still had the recipe pulled up on the computer and was still on the internet. The screen was black. I turned off the computer and tried turning the computer back on. The screen is still black. I am not sure if and what key there is on the keyboard to bring the computer out of sleep mode.
I have just installed a new BD/DVD drive into my hp ENVY 17t 64 with windows 7. It does not play blu-ray discs but plays the other discs. I now also noticed that my hp HDX 64bit with windows Vista not playing the blu-ray discs also but it too plays all the other disc. They both use the Cyber link hp Media smart which will not update inspite of me clicking on the link presented when I insert a blu-ray disc. ANY HELP please on how to solve this problem.
I have compaq presario cq40.. The problem is, it's stock on the compaq logo and when I press the esc key, nothing happens, and when I try to hold it for a second it beeps for about 17 to 18 beeps.. I don't know what to do now.. please help me.. Thanks in advance

Ive had my Hp 15 notebook pc for about three days now. The first day i watched a youtube video and netflix perfectly fine, but i cannot say the same for the last two days. The second day i tried to watch something on youtube and it showed a green screen. I thought it was just the video so i clicked on the next video, it was also green. I turned on my NFL sports videos and same thing there, so i think it may be the Notebook. If you can please help me with this problem id really apprecciate it. Thank You.

Last evening i switched off, take out connection cable from the power istalation. This morning, when i switched on i had absolutely black screen, no noise, just blinking buttn of caps lock - twice...stopped and again twice and f12 in red. Nothing else. Any suggestion, pease...?

now the problem i face is that neither i could increase or decrease the brightness of disply. Pliz tell me how to solve this problem.
I bought the HP 15-f010wm just for school and work originally. It currently has the Intel HD Graphics and does not run games very well. I was wondering if there was an external graphics card that I could use with this notebook to play the game League of Legends. I can play it with the current graphics card, but it's too laggy and has at most 40 fpm at the lowest settings. I am looking for an affordable external graphics card just to run light games.
A few weeks ago, my laptop fell on the floor. Afterward I discovered that the right half of the screen was out, flickering intermittently in black, white, and thin vertical colored bars, sometimes making the working side of the screen appear faded in color.
My best guess is that the wiring to the display on the side of the laptop that took the hit got pinched, causing only one side of the screen to go out. As this is a small laptop, one I've had for nearly three years, I'm nervous about working on it myself, because I don't want to make the problem worse.
Can this problem be fixed by me, or anyone else? Also, is it risky to continue using the laptop in this condition?

the internal monitor of my compaq presario cq60 has been damage.. i want to use an external monitor to access the bios settings because im going to format it.. the problem is display wont appear during POST and i cant access the bios settings.. it will only appear after POST when windows already loading.. can anybody pls help me on this one.. thnx in advance
