Hi all. I'm looking for a way to update my Catalyst ATI drivers. I cannot update past HP's old outdated ones (I think HP's is version 8, version 13 is out now). Is there any way around this? Updating to the newer drivers results in a very dimmed screen, and brightness controls do nothing. I have heard it is because of the Switchable Graphics. Thanks guys.

Hello, ive searched all over but no one seems to have the answer with my particular model. My Hp laptop is doing two things, the first is the screen will flicker whenever you open or pivot the display. Its not a video card issue as if you wiggle the display enough it stops flickering or turning grey. The second issue is this morning the laptop said the cooling fan was broken, is this difficult to replace? I have had this laptop for two years and i have never had more issues with a laptop, it bogged down blue screen, i reformated the thing, upgraded to windows 8, the screen flickers and now the fan breaks. This things like a shotty car you buy. Any help or tips will help me out a lot. Thanks in advance
Hello, I am new to this forum, I require some techniqual help, I have got quite a noodle scratcher in the midst, I have decent knowledge on pcs but laptops i do not.
Anyways , I am trying to fix my fathers CQ61, It has taken a trip to the ground, when i first inspected it the only noticable damage was to the screen bezel it had slightly separated, i just clicked it back together.
ive seen dropped laptops before and this was showing tell tale signs, at this point the screen was still booting, but when It got to the windows loading screen it BSOD'd and froze , i tried to recover etc to no avail, ran a hdd diagnostic check and that also failed, I put it down to a duff hard drive, But as i was diagnosing it further i turned the laptop off, and when i turned it back on the screen did not start, i tried multiple times restarting it, still no screen boot, no beeps, no flashing lights, Everything as normal apart from the screen not working, I then assumed the drop had also taken its tole on the screen.
Since then i have purchased a new sata hdd , and as they have stopped making CCFL screens and cq61 LED screen which is converted, I have installed these, But the screen still doesnt boot , Caps/Num lock Are solid green no flashing , fans and hdd spinning.
I have performed a hard reset many times , connecting an external monitor is not going to work as its a new hdd and there is no OS installed, I removed case and checked for loose connections everything was plugged in as it should be, Ive removed and reseated the ram , tried one on its own , also tried different ram to eliminate the possiblity of that.
The only thing i can think of now is to replace the Display Ribbon, It cannot be the inverter as it is now bypassed.

I have an HP G62-341NR laptop that has lines going across the screen. The lines are mainly at the top of the screen. I have done some research and I think it might be the cable that connects to the top of the LCD but I don't know the part number or where to order it. Any help is appreciated.

Hello there I am recently facing this problem of bluescreen of death?
Basically I spend about 10minutes on youtube not even that long and it suddently turns into a bluescreen and restarts itself off...
I have changed the cooling fan a while ago and it still appearing the bluescreen, what could it be?
I've tried to update the graphics software but I couldnt do it since there seems not to be a update avaiable for this graphics card,

I have a Pavillion dv6 notebook... Corei7, 8-gig ram etc.
Every time I watch a blu ray movie, the picture will freeze and/or stutter several times throughout the duration of the movie.
I have put up with it until now, but a quick google suggests this is not an isolated problem. And with a notebook with these specs, it should play blu-rays effortlessly.
If anyone can suggest I fix, it would be hugely appreciated.

I have HP Pavilion dv6 (3300) and It has switchable graphic card AMD Radeon HD 3300, but when I install Windows 8 it's does not reconized it. When I check the configuration it's shows AMD Radeon HD 5000.
Please give me solution for my problem.....

one of my use stepped over his lapotp and now screen is cracked and wont work, works fine over docking staion so i am just wonder what is the cost to replace the screen. laptop is still under warranty.

I did a fresh install of Windows 7 and I install the HD4000 driver and everythings fine. I can also install some OpenGL screensavers and they work fine, but when I install the ATI drivers, I get this error:
loadlibrary failed with error 1114: a dynamic link library (dll) initialization routine failed.
And the ATI graphics card still shows up in device manager as not being installed but when you "update" its driver, it says the optimal driver is already installed. If I go to the ATI site and download drivers direct they work ok but I get flickering on some games.

I have a pavilion g6-1070ss and i can't longer connect it to a TV with HDMI since yesterday.When I connect it appears on TV the 'No Signal' message.I know it recognize the cable because when i plug it the Tv is turning all black for a second.
Can someone please tell me what is the problem ?

I have a HP Pavalion running Windows Vista......obviously several years old. I'm getting a totally black screen when I turn it on. Sounds and lights on the keyboard seem to indicate the laptop is booting up, just nothing on the screen. I've tried 2 things so far: 1) Hooked up an external monitor and got nothing....just like on laptop. 2) Did a hard reset by removing battery and power cord and pressing on button for 30 seconds.... again, nothing on the screen. Any suggestions?
DVD's won't play after I hooked up an HDMI cable to TV. Error message says video copywrite isses between display and player and I should update the driver and software. I went to HP and AMD Radeon's website and checked drivers and software, they were all up to date. The movies will play without any problems when the hdmi cable is NOT hooked up, but when it is plugged into the laptop the movie will stop and the error messages will appear. If anyone has a solution, I would be most grateful. The pc is a HP pavilion g6, w/AMD M880G w/ ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 video.

I am using an HP Pavilion dm4 Notebook PC equipped with an Intel HD Graphics card. Recently, one of the games I often play gave an error message alerting me to the possibilty of having an outdated driver for my video card. Since then, I have checked Intel's website for an update, only to find that it is a customized video card specific to the laptop and that, supposedly, only HP can provide an update to the driver (if any update even exists). I have also consulted a customer service representative with the company who makes the game and they could only suggest that I check for an update on Intel's website etc.
