For some reason when I try to boot my laptop up it isn't always loading properly- the on light will light up, the wifi button will light up orange, the fan will start running but the screen won't come on. However, it will sometimes load the screen up. Tried multiple things- virus scans, defragging the drive uninstalling old unwanted programs but it's still not always booting up right. Any help would be gratefully recieved. I'm on windows 7 if that is any help.

How do i remove my dedicated gpu. Probably it got damaged due to ovr heating. My screen goes black after booting has finished and i cannot see anything even though my laptop logs on to da account ( i can hear the sound) . I tried uninstalling the driver Nd reinstalling it in safe mode. But it fails. One time i uninstalled it and laptop started perfectly due to the integrated gpu but due to da plug and pplay nature, of the dedicated gpu, automatic installation of da driver caused failure again. Da screen turned black again. I am using HP Pavillion dm4t 1113tx, 1gb ati radeon. Pls some one tell me that i can rremove this dedicatwd gpu and use the integrated one. Pls include the steps . I am very amateur in this field. Your help will be highly appreciated

HP Envy dv7t-7200 quad graphics/dxdiag issue w/ gt650m

Ok, so I ordered this HP Envy Dv7t-7200 quad edition, and it comes with a 2GB dedicated GT650m graphics card as well as an integrated Intel HD 4000, running on windows 8. All of my drivers are installed and up to date. All of it shows up nicely in the device manager. My problem is that when I run dxdiag it only shows that my integrated vram is available!!!! When I run games, they show the integrated is being used. Now here's where things get strange.... I was **bleep**ing around with settings in the UEFI (BIOS) and enabled legacy mode.....LOW AND BEHOLD upon reboot dxdiag shows all four gigs of vram available (2 from the dedicated and 2 from the integrated), and my games recognize that I am using the GT 650m. I know optimus technology is supposed to do all the graphics processing and then send it to the integrated and then to the display, but why the do things only seem to work with legacy mode enabled? How can I get them to work when it's disabled? I've run benchmark tests to be honest, I don't even think things are working in legacy mode either..... I seriously need help to make sure my system is working. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!

Hi

I have a HP probook 4540s with windows 8 64bit pro

I can’t switch Intel graphic card to AMD Radeon HD.

I install latest graphic driver. Install latest Bios update.

Even I install windows 7 with latest graphic driver...

I can’t play any game. Skyrim can’t recognize amd driver. SimCity 2013 got error. All game with Unreal Engine have same problem.

I waiting & waiting & waiting for new drive but it didn’t update.

I attach a screenshot from amd catalyst window.

My wife have 4530s, in her amd catalyst window she has an option name "switchable graphic method". But I don’t have this option.

Blu rays refuse to play

HP Pavillion dv6 Notebook PC Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit Servce pack one.

DVD's, CD's all work fine, and open in HPMediaSmart with no issues. Blu Rays do not open at all. I can't make them play in HPMediaSmart or with Windows Media Player - even <My Computer>BD Drive>Open tells me there is not disc, no supported disc, or ejects the disc.

I've seen this issue all over the net, and all over HP site. Different fixes are all over the place, none of which I understand. I've followed links to "fixes" and "patches" - I ran HP Assistant "Fix This" and IT told me there was no supported disc in the drive.

I've read lots of options - wipe my laptop back to day 1 and lose all my stuff - or buy the program that was supposed to be bundled with my rig (neither will happen, I will use this as a paper weight first. I paid over $1200 for this laptop and I refuse to buy a program I was supposed to have.) Can anyone, please, offer me a fix (IN ENGLISH!?) that I can understand and do without losing all my files, updates and programs?

White webcam

I have an HP Notebook, Product number: C2N25UA#ABA. I also have Windows 8. My webcam has recently decided that it will not show anything but a white screen, before that it was terrible quality video and very slow on picking anything up. I can't figure out what to do to make it work like it did not but a week ago. Any ideas what might be happening with it?

Switchable graphics and OpenGL

I have a dv7-6199us that has an Intel / AMD 6770M graphics configuration and am running Windows 7-64bit.  I was running into problems using Windows Live Movie Maker and Photo Gallery not displaying the preview in the former and slideshow not working in the latter.  I fixed it by reading the sticky http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c02948560

However in the first paragraph it says that setting the BIOS to Dynamic and using the integrated graphics, the application will work but in power saving mode.  I tried this out and it didn't work for me.  I made sure the setting for Movie Maker and Photo Gallery were set to power saving mode in the Catalyst Center.

What can I try doing and still have the BIOS set to Dynamic?

dv7 Display is jacked, 3/4 of screen is blurry lines

Hi all,

Running windows 7, had laptop for 16 months.  There are both horizontal and vertical lines that cover the top 3/4 of my monitor.  That part of the screen is white with blue lines.  I can see the bottom 1/4 of the screen for about ten minutes, then it completely fades to white.  I'm guessing this is another video card problem.  Tried heat sink on my last HP with similar problem and failed miserably.  I know, should have bought the extended warranty, but I thought when I spent the 800 bucks this time the machine would last longer.  Anybody have any remedies before I take the baseball bat to it?

Thanks a million

Scott

HP HDX16 - Screen going blank

Hello guys,

My laptop screen was blank all the time, and I was only able to use by connecting to the an external monitor with the HDMI cable.

I have changed the LCD cable with a brand new HP cable, the screen is now working perfectly sometimes, but sometimes, it stays blank.

By the way, I have a battery problem. My battery is not charging at all, I just keep it in the laptop for the sake of keeping it. Could it be the problem? The adapter is new (less than 6 months old).

I have updated all the drivers. What could be the problem? Is it the inverter? Or the backlight? or the whole LCD screen is dying now?

Please tell me what I should do to test the issue.

Is it possible to further update my video card?

Hello, I have a Pavilion dv7 with a ati mobilty radeon HD 5470 gpu.  As of a few days ago its started to thorw a bunch of flags and after having ut checked out it would appear that I have to update my video card drivers. Sadly my few attempts at updating them through AMD/ATI website has resulted in faliure nearly bricking my computer. I need to update the video card or else I'm going to be stuck with a $1000 + laptop that is of no use to me.

New Screen, New Screen Cable, 2 New Inverter board - still not working!!

Laptop Model in question: HP DV2300 Pavillion, Vista

Hi,

Im hoping someone will be able to guide me as to what my next steps should be. I had a cracked screen on my HP Pav laptop. The following are the steps I have taken but still LAPTOP not displaying.

1) Replaced new screen, no luck. later tested the screen on a different HP laptop, new screen works fine

2) Later replaced the inverter board, no luck. tested the inverter board with a screen from another laptop - inverter board seems to work fine, although the display was split into 4 - thismay be due to the screen being larger than the expected size.

3) Later replaced the cable. by now I have new screen,. new inverter board, new screen cable - STILL NO LUCK.

4) I bought a separate new 2nd inverter board just incase the one I bought initially wasn't given the right voltage, Still no luck!!

Is it the motherbaord, if it is, is it worth replacing? - considering the amount I have spent already.

The laptop works fine on external monitor.

CAN SOMEONE HELP and ADVICE WHAT MY NEXT STEPS  SHOULD BE PLEASE!!

Screen "troitsya" horizontally

My laptop - HP Pavilion dv5-1040er.
It happened as follows:
After the self-cleaning and replacement of thermal paste (which I do already 2 times and the first purge was successful)
Monitor works like this:
judder, the screen "troitsya" horizontally http://fastpic.ru/view/47/2013/0603/93fd50009a2a39f2a2de47531b946e89.jpg.html - (photo).
But there was an opportunity to work on an external monitor
again, until the transition is not yet installed windows
(windows put while working external monitor).
Now, probably because of the video driver (which is now impossible to deliver)
things got really bad (no external monitor is earned).
By the way, in a safe mode - same thing.
The external monitor is connected via - VGA
via HDMI - no signal is gone.
And one more thing, is there any way (in my case) to connect an external monitor?
"Proguglit" HP dozens of sites / forums, nothing like not met.
What could be damaged?
Thank you all.

Intel HD 4000 drivers for G7-2051sa

Hi there,

I've just installed Windows 8 Pro 64bits on my laptop, but it recognises the GPU as an Intel HD 3000, although my laptop has an Intel HD 4000.

I've installed the Intel graphics drivers for Windows 8 64bits from HP's page, and also updated BIOS and all other drivers, chipset, audio, etc, but still doesn't seem to see the real GPU.
The cpu is an Intel Core i3 2330M, and running 8GB of RAM.

Any ideas? I don't understand what's going on, thanks.

laptop screen divides into 4, resolution lowest

I have a Pavilion dv6544ev for many years now and it's the first time I cannot solve a problem.

The screen has divided into 4 uneven parts, repeating each other, it is like divided by a black cross. The resolution is 4 bit only, few things are well distinguishable. I wasn't able to restore the resolution to 32-bit, because the Nvidia program doesn't launch. My OS is Vista Home Premium. The graphics card - Nvidia GeForce 8400M GS.

Vista, Nvidia, BIOS, - all have the latest updates. I cannot remember of anything special happening just before the problem with the screen occurred.  One day, I just switched the laptop on and that was it. No messages, no warning signs. Except that my laptop sometimes didn't always recognize the DVD device.

I've tried to scan my notebook for problems and I've detected 3 problems with computer devices: 1. the screen controller is deactivated by windows (error code 43), the program cannot be loaded. 2. Microsoft ISATAP controller doesn't function properly because windows cannot load the necessary drivers (code 31). 3, Teredo Tunneling pseudo-interface cannot boot (code 10).

Any ideas? Does this make sense for any kind of conclusion or about solving the problem?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
