Yeh i cant stand it, I paid £1300 for my brand new HP ENVY dv7 and have been trying for months to get the fps where it should be only running counter strike source at either 31fps or when its in the mood a max of 41 surrounded by spikes of lag here and there and its like this on vertually every game i play (Skyrim, Gmod, Half life 2, Magicka, Civ 5 and more) ... Im running with 8gigs of RAM, Intel i7 and with a Nvidia Geforce GT 650M (2GB)... I spent even more time trying to get it right in buying one (being fairly new to gaming on PCs) which really got on my nerves when i found that my brother's £700 HP ENVY Ultabook runs everything i can and at 10x the speed...
Ive pissed about with settings for too long, is this laptop faulty?
turning off Vsync, optimising my nvidia control panel settings for a better performance and lowering settings on the games themselves barely shifts the framerate... i feel like ive played around with every setting on that godamn list and tryed it out with different games too, manually assigning different processors to different games, resolutions... Right now though i rust ran Counter strike source on the "integrated graphics"setting at got 95fps... which made me a bit more happy, however i ran Warhammer 40k dawn of war 2 on integrated to see if it would run at a simelar framerate and it only ran at like 12fps 
... is my graphics card like broken or something?
Part of me just wants to know if there is a setting i can just change to get everything working as it should... what do?
