Display: 15.6" diagonal HD BrightView LED-backlit display (1366 x 768)
Memory: 8GB installed memory
Hard drive: 750GB 5400RPM hard drive with HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection
Processor: AMD Elite Quad-Core A10-5750M Accelerated Processor
Operating system:Windows 8
Graphics card: AMD Radeon HD 8650G graphics with up to 4204MB total graphics memory

 

Running on the exact specs above, I'm playing games via Steam (Tomb Raider, Saints Row IV, Dishonored, etc) and have had to compromise video/display quality settings  just to get the games to play correctly. Most games have an auto-detect feature for display and audio settings and in each instance the games are set to Ultra or High settings. But when I begin to the play the games with the default settings that games are extremely slow, though the graphics look great. 

Given the specs above and the fact that the games auto detect at the highest or near to the highest settings, might I have an issue with my current system settings that I could tweak in order to get a higher quality gaming experience? I feel like these settings are definitely good enough to get at least HIGH display quality, but that has yet to work.

An Hp mini model 200-4202si when put on doesn't show anything on the screen with the caps lock key light blinking constantly and the network and mute keys showing red.The screen is not bad though.What could be the problem and solution please?

I just received my new Pavilion laptop and am setting it up.

 

How do I removed the slew of unneeded icons from my touch screen that I won't need.  Replaced Windows Explorer , MacAfee, etc.  Uninstalled them, but cant get rid of clutter.  I'm sure it's simple, but not finding it.

Today i decided to try playing Planetside 2 through my laptops high performance graphics setting (Didn't notice I had a different seting until now) 

Anyways the result is a ridiculously slow framerate, Around 4 fps at best even when i have all the settings as low as possible including those in the AMD catalyst control centre,

 

but on power saving graphics mode I get a high frame rate on the highest graphics settings.

Is this supposed to happen or is there anyway of getting a high frame rate from high performance graphics? (I assumed by the name they'd be a lot faster than power saving)

So, 

 

My screen remains off even though the computer boots up, the power light goes on, and the fan is on. 

 

I have taken off the battery and charger, and pressed the power button for 140 seconds. 

 

I have started the computer and have hit F8, FN plus F8, and control F5, plus many other combinations. 

 

I have done the windows key plus the B key before pressing the power button for BIOS, and nothing happened. 

 

Please, if anyone can help me, please help. This computer was purchased brand new less than a month ago, and should be working fine.

envy m6 recently updated to windows 8.1 Now there is a fault with the display adaptors. Intel Graphic 4000. I have tried everything on the internet. Geeksquad had no luck. But I think that they just tried everything I did. Deleted, removed and updated. I run 2 monitors one on vga and other on HDMI. This laptop is of no use to me like this. Please can anyone help.

I bought a football manager game, made an iso and installed it to my HP Mini 110-3100

 

My System is :

Windows 7 Starter, 32bit.

Intel(R) Atom(TM) CPU N455 @1.66GHz 1.67GHz, 1.00GB RAM

 

Now Then......Runs perfect on my Desktop, no worries with the wife's laptop...............................

 

Attempt to run on this netbook and being informed that I do not have sufficient shared video memory.....

 

Cant find any option whatsoever in the bios to increase shared as I'm stuck, limited to 4MB Shared memory

 

Is there a bios update or something required or software to increase shared video memory, cause I'm at a loss.

Problem: After logging in, the screen flashes the Start Screen on and off in random fashion, and is unresponsive to any input.
Effort: We followed the instructions on the HP web site for this symptom (Desktop Screen Flashes Between a Blue Screen with a Blank Taskbar and a Desktop Screen on Startup (Windows 8)), but it failed at step 8 - the Start Screen flashes in Safe Mode with no way to find or enter the "Control Panel" step. We have also rolled back the system to the last restore point, reseated the memory, and reset the BIOS - all HP recommended processes for video problems.
Current Status: We always look to resolve any problems via the HP web site first; this one had us stumped. We went to the "Contact HP" to chat with a service agent, but discovered that our warranty expired eight days ago. We were directed to this forum for assistance. The laptop is my son's and is being used for his college courses. We need any help you can provide as quickly as possible. Thanks!

I have a Dell monitor that I used to use to extends the display for another laptop. I purchased a DVI-HDMI cable to use it on my Envy, but the notbook won't recognize the monitor.

Hi,

 

My laptop is Pavilion G6 1301tx and its graphics card is radeon 7450M.I used to see Radeon 7450M driver in device manager and i was able to swtich between some modes using catalyst center.Now i couldn't able to find the driver in the device manager-->display adapter.Also i couldn't able to switch between those modes.I tried to install it from software which i dowloaded from http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=5208101

 

 

But it couldn't able to install the driver.Please help me with a solution

There is some issue with the graphics of my laptop. In normal operations graphics are fine but when it comes to commnand prompts or windows screen the display text is totally blured. i updated the driver too but it didnt work !

The notebook HP 630 (A6F38EA#ABZ) off the monitor after 1 minute, I changed the settings on both the bios that has windows 7, but without success.
