External Monitor will not display full view MS apps.

I have a HDMI monitor that was previously working fine.  The other day I went to use Word and Excel and the applications would only appear in the lower toolbar.  When I would select them they would not enlarge.  They remained in a thumbnail view.  My email and Internet work as expected.  Any ideas what's causing this?

Hi,  Please help me to fix this issue.

I have connected a laptop, HP Pro x2 410 G1with a monitor, acer LED (#1) by HDMI cable, but the monitor doesn't show anything on the screen.

Seems the problem is because the laptop, Pro x2, doesn't detect the second monitor.

I have checked "screen Resolution", but this laptop doesn't detect the second monitor.  I've also tried to detect the second monitor under "PC and devices", but this didn't work neither.

When I used another monitor (#2) with the laptop, pro x2, it still didn't show anything.  However, when I connected a different laptop with the original monitor (#1), it works.

Please advise me how to fix this issue.

Thank you

AMD 7400M vs. Intel gr. HD

I need help desperately. I'm 100% frustrated...

So I have a HP 4730s Probook Notebook, win7 pro 64bit, i3 pr., 8gb RAM. I have the integrated Intel gr. HD card, and the AMD 7400M.

The problem is, I can't use the AMD for gaming, or at all.

I have read more than 100 forum on this topic, and I tried all the methods without success, such as:

- CCC switchable graphics - There is no menu for switching, only a screen of Display Detection Option.

- I tried to set all the settings to high performance - still using Intel

- There is no switch/fix option in the BIOS, only option to deselect switching, which causes the system can't see the AMD at all.

- I updated all the drivers, CCC, BIOS, everything.

- I disabled the Intel, and after that the system couldn't see any graph. cards.

Soooo, if you have the SOLUTION of my problem, and not a new theory, because I read about 15 "absolutely" working methods and theories, but they didn't work.

I do appreciate your answers,

Best,

Alex

Elitebook 8570p - DVI and Mini Display not working

I have a problem that has been somewhat intermittent in the past but seems to have gotten worse.  For some reason my laptop will not properly detect a monitor connected via the mini display port to a DVI connector, or via the DVI connector on the docking station.

The VGA port on the laptop and dock work fine.

I've tried other monitors to no avail.  I also got a replacement docking station and that did not help either.

The laptop appears to have the AMD Radeon HD 7500M and I have updated to the latest driver.

I am using Windows 7 x64.

In the Screen Resolution settings the monitor I connect to DVI or MiniDisplay shows up as "Generic Non-PnP Monitor with 640x480 resolution and cannot be changed.  That screen also does not come out of standby.

In the past the 2nd screen has worked fine.  I have, over the last year, had several periods of time where the screen would be working fine, then eventually it would stop again for no apparent reason.

Currently it has not been working for about 3 weeks.  I'm wondering if there is a specific driver or some other way to get this thing back to working.

Screen Issue with HP G7000 laptop

$

Hi there,

I bought a second hand HP G7000 laptop preinstalled with Windows Vista Home Premium x86 a few days ago, the problem with it was that the screen wouldn't light up even when plugged the laptop was plugged in using the AC adapter which I also had to buy seperately as the original one was misplaced and only cost me £10 for a compatible one off the Internet, the screen wasn't shattered and showed no signs of wear and tear, I took it to my local PC repair shop for £40 in which the contacts behind the screen needed connecting back up and with a little soldering for some other parts of the repair, however when I tookit  back to my place the screen lit up fine in which I decided to perform a factory restore to make it feel like it was brand new and that it belonged to me. After restoring the laptop successfully, I noticed that a lot of stuff was a little out-of-date and decided to update it to make it compliant with the latest security fixes as well as the latest bug fixes i.e. to upgrade to SP2 etc, however upon updating and turning on the laptop every so often the display kept going funny i.e. black and white and wouldn't display anything clearly in which I had to keep forcing the laptop to shut down with using the power button in which I don't like doing as this will corrupt the hard drive eventually, however upon researching this problem on the Internet I stumbled across this forum thread http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f108/hp-g7000-screen-issue-529809.html using Google describing a very similar problem to me, the problem not only seems to be with tilting the angle of the screen but also the surface in which the unit is placed down on, I've tried various surfaces including my USB fan cooler, glass and wood and all produce various results from time to time. So I guess the answer is to place the unit down on a flat surface that isn't shiny and screen not tilting when using the laptop? I thought the purpose of a laptop was to make computing mobile regardless of what surface you place the unit  down on and what angle you have the screen at. Your feedback and suggestions would be much appreciated.

Kind regards,

RocknRollTim

P.S. I also suspect that the problem is related to interference and lighting conditions as well as heating conditions and the battery as the battery sometimes retains its charge whereas sometimes it doesn't and have to use the AC adapter when this happens, don't know whether flashing the BIOS has helped the battery to retain its charge though.

hi everyone, this is the problem I'm having,

when I connect the cable from the screen to the MB, the light where you connect the charger turns off. It works fine with an external monitor (vga),so I guess is not a problem of the video card. I already replace the screen but I keep having the same issue (could be the cable or the connector?) appreciate any help. thanks

Re: HP 2000-2b22dx Black Screen

I have the same model 2000-2b22dx laptop now 4 mos out of warranty.  The screen is black but actually the graphics are there, just very very dim.  you can shine a flashlight on the screen and see the PC is booting correctly.  It also works fine with external display.

I understand in this case it is likely the inverter board needs replacement, but it is not listed as a spare part in the manual noted in this thread.  It is only shown in the manual in the display recycling section.  How can this part be ordered?

thanks

HP Envy 14 1260se graphics driver not installing correctly

Recently my computer crashed and I had to reformat my hard drive. I was able to install Windows 7 with the SP1 and I have most of the drivers installed from HPs website. However, I'm having trouble installing my gaphics card (ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650).

I go to Device Manager and it marks an error for the "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" the device status is "This device cannot start. (Code 10). I've downloaded the driver from HPs website and I can begin the installing process. However, halfway through I get a BlueScreen, LocaleID: 1033, BCCode: 116.

I've tried almost everything I can think of. I've uninstalled the driver and installed it again. I've downloaded the driver from AMDs website and tried installing it that way and all methods have failed. Always during the installation process I get the BlueScreen and must restore my computer to before I tried installing the driver.

I don't know if this would be the reason, but in my Device Manager and under Display adapters I have "Intel(R) HD Graphics" and the "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" (which should be the Radeon 5650).  So maybe I can't install my Radeon driver because it conflicts with my Intel card. I really don't know. (Before the clean install, my computer could switch between the cards. I don't think I have that ability in my computer right now.)

My computer is fully functional except that I can't use my graphics card. I appreaciate any help or advice out there.

Problem with running movies and streaming videos on Compaq Presario CQ56

Hi,

I have a compaq presario CQ56-115DX Notebook with a 2 GB RAM, AMD V140 2.3 Ghz processor and 32 bit Windows 7 installed. I have a problem with running videos on my laptop hard-disk and streaming videos online. Whenever  I try to run videos or stream online content, my screen starts hanging and video-audio develops a lag. Consequentially, the video hangs at many places and plays as if frames are missing in the video. when I had a look at the "Available Graphics Memory" it shows just 16 MB which I think maybe the root cause of the problem. Is there a way in which I can extend this? Is there some other possible cause for this? I have run antivirus checks which dont seem to suggest any malware.

How to switch to Nvidia 830M GPU?

$

Hi,

I have bought HP Pavillion P028TX 3 days ago, I was trying to install some games and was not able to play them as the "Dedicated & System Video memory is 0mb" because intel HD 4400 graphics is being used as the default graphic processing unit. I have 2GB of Nvidia 830M GPU dedicated in my laptop and which was not being used. I have tried to change the setting to "dicrete" in bios for the GPU selection but the "Advanced" setting option is missing in Insyde f.06 BIOS found on my laptop.

Now, i am clueless. I've bought this laptop majorly for gaming and media purposes. Need solution.

1) How to switch the graphic card to Nvidia permanently?

2) How to unlock the advanced setting in the BIOS?

Thanks!
