Hello,

Laptop porblem.

 

Customers laptop has 1 cm(ish) vertical white line on the display, which appears immediately after you boot. Curious thing was it seemed to become whiter occasionally, thought it might be an HP security feature, or summat. I had a feeling it has been generated, but also reads something regarding screen cable problems for first production but fixed in later releases.

 

 

Also noticed on the left hand side of the bar, about a millimter inside, is a red line, and on the otherside, a blue line about a millimemeter outside.

 

Any ideas?

After I installed some software updates the Laptop was suggesting me, my screen resolution went suddenly from 1900x1200 to 1200x720 after reboot, and it doesn't let me change it, not even to a smaller resolution. I am quite frustrated, because I will need the computer next week for visualization works and I really need the display working well. 

It doesn't let me change the resolution. The display and graphics drivers are up to date and working properly, according to the device manager. I made a system recovery, but that just made everything worse although the resolution thing worked again, I had to run a startup repair several times before my laptop would boot propery again. This didn't solve the issue, since the display drivers weren't working properly (videos were being visualized very poorly) and even after updating them the computer wouldn't start up again, so I had to made another system recovery and now I am back to the point where I can't change the resolution and is starting to be really frustrating.

I have the following combination - before I added the second display, I had sound... now I have none.

 

9470m ultrabook

HP Ultra-light docking station

HP L2208w with sound bar (secondary display)

HP LA2205wg with sound bar (primary display)

 

I have tried connecting both independently and must be doing something wrong.  Please assist.

Hi Hp,

 

My pavilion dm4 1102tx unit has a problem with the ati driver. the unit has 2 video drivers the intel hd graphics and ati mobility radeon premium graphics. 

 

When I enable the ati radeon driver the display will turn black and I can not use it but when I disable the ati radeon driver it will display fine. What is the problem and what should I do to fix this?

I'm having color problems on my laptop. While the colors on my screen aren't terrible,most of the color/textures appear washed out and muted in comparison to other laptops I own. I've tried adjusting the brightness and calibrating the colors but it didn't fix the problem. I'm not sure what the problem could be. Thank you for your help.

I have pavilion g6..when start the computer it runs ok but after few min the display goes off.."I mean off not blurr"..but when connect it to external monitor after the monitor is off it runs ok.when the display goes off power light blinks..and this off thing is friquent...another thing is that when close the lid for some time and then open it starts for some time then again the same thing....I tried to change the power options to never sleep but it keeos on going off...please help me..

Hi,

 

With no hardware and OS change since the laptop was bought, and working fine for two years, my hp notebook g6-2005ax shuts down automatically with a bluescreen message ...."Display driver was shut down and did not re-start..".

 

I tried re-starting my notebook, but i could hear only the fan running with no display on screen whatsoever. After about 2-3 hrs or so when i again turned on my system it worked fine. i logged in in safe mode transferred some files to a pen drive, shut down the system properly. Again when i tried turning it on the fan started running with no display again!!.

 

I took the system to the local service centre, where the engineers replied that the hardware graphics ic has some problem, it needs to be changed which would require a change of the AMD processor and the mother-board aswell. They also suggested to change the board and processor to Intel i3 or i5 processor. I am clueless as to what should i do.

 

The laptop was working essentially fine for the last 2 years since i bought it, except for the high heat it vented off and a couple of shutdowns due to over heating!

 

Have others faced similar problem with the model? How to verify if the service engineers have diagnosed the correct problem?If not What may be the actual problem and how to solve it?

Hello All of You,

my Hp splitx2 13g-110dx (Best Buy ) win 8.1 operating system, the on screen keyboard does not appears automatically if i tap the screen. Has anybody a solution? I see that it is a common problem at these model.

Hey guys, I hope you're all doing well today!

 

I have recently installed a fresh version of Windows 7 on my laptop and I'm having a bit of a strange experience with Windows Update.

 

I went to the AMD website and downloaded the latest version (4/15/14) of the diplay driver that is for my processor and display card; things seemed to work great, however when I ran Windows update there was an "optional update" for the same driver from 2011! I mean, to me that is absurd! Why is this showing up? Have I done something incorrectly?

 

anyway I have a HP Pavilion dv6, 8gb ram, 64-bit, SP1, yada-yada.

Recently the left hinge of my HP Envy 4 1130-us has broken. It has never been dropped or otherwise abused and actually broke when I just rested a finger on it. Unfotunately my warranty expired earlier this year and I wanted to know if HP is doing anything about this. I have read through this thread and it seems like people have been finding results. Really can't afford a new computer because I simple part failed, but this PC is just over a year old. Anyway I do really like many of HP's proucts and any information would be grealty appreciated.

I have upgraded my software to Windows 7 and most everything works except the speakers don't exist.  They worked on vista.   I have checked the control panel and it says headphones not plugged in, so I tried some, and they work plugged into the jack, so the sound drivers work, it just doesn't send to speaker.  How do I install the speakers to be discovered?

I have two HP Pavilion Entertainment PC's that I bought 2010.  One was for me and the other was for my son.  After using mine for 2 years (until 2012) the diplay screen would come on now and then and finally not at all.  Since my son barely used his, he let me use his.  However, he hooked mine up to hisTV and it worked fine.  Now, the PC he let me use has the similar problem.  I called HP and they told me that there has been no recalls on this product but if you look online many people have the same problem with this product.  I have always trusted HP products and many times have persuaded people to buy them.  I am sorry that I did so and wish that HP would help all those with this problem.  I will never buy another HP product and will make sure that HP doesn't have anything to do with anything the next PC  I am now forced to buy.

I have one random green pixel on my laptop near the middle right side of my laptop. It seems to only appear when the screen is darkend, for example when I watch a movie, although I have seen it on if the screen is bright aswell. Wht can I do to fix this? I have installed the latest drivers from both HP and Intel. My laptop is a HP Spectre XT TouchSmart Ultrabook.

I have an HP Chromebook 14. The monitor has gone totally dark.

 

HP 14-q020nr Chromebook PC.

 

It wil charge and turn on. The screen stays dark and the only way I can tell it's on is to hold my ear to the vents on the bottom.

 

Reboot (F-3 + page reload + power button) = nothing

I don't think the battery is made to be taken out of this model.

Hi,

 

I have a 9840m Folio + Ultraslim Dock + ZR24w Monitor.  A couple of times a day I lose the video signal out to the monitor.  When i undock the laptop for a second or two and then redock the signal will somethimes return, other times I have to do a reboot to get started again.

 

When the image blanks out on the monitor and i undock the notebook there is no image on the notebook itself.

 

Not sure if this is related but it looks like the hard drive light stays lit as if the drive is being read.  it has a 128GB SSD drive.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,

 

I have encoutered an issue after reinstalling Windows on my laptop and using the graphics card driver found on HP.com. Right after reinstalling and reboot, the system displays a BSOD.

I recently updated mu notebook to windows 8.1 Ever since I have not been able to use the webcam in apps like Skype or even the "camera" app within windows. I read that updating drivers could help but I do not know how to do that. What can I do?

I have a brand new HP laptop. Today it turns on ok, but hen all I have is a blank but lit screen and a movable mouse cursor. Tried pushing every possible button and nothing. It's Windows 8 OS. I have turned it on/off etc, but it immediately returns to blank screen, and it seems too fast to be booting up.
Help please????
