I wanted to start my computer (envy touchsmart m7-j020dx) and it started all normal just the screen stayed blank.
I tried the things which I've found on the HP forum, like taking the battery out and connect the charger and try to start it again or the things trying to reboot the BIOS. Nothing worked.
I've then connected it to an external screen and the computer itself seems absolutely fine and works as normal.
The interesting thing is, even when the display stayed blank somehow the touch function is still working.
What does this mean, is there just a graphic driver problem or is my screen broken?
Please advise.

hi, i bought HP 15-d056se laptop and intall all the drivers but nvidia , laptop read internal card intel HD 4000 , without nvidia graphic card , what can i do??
Ahoy,
I've seen topics regarding this issue - i.e. first day running a new HP Pavilion 15-P008TX, using Windows 8.1...
However the video quality on videos being played from the DVD Drive, HDD, and streamed videos (e.g YouTube) are extremely low quality.
Unfortunately I can't screenshot the issue - the best way to describe it would be to say that the videos look like YouTube videos being viewed on 144p
DVDs, and even 1080p videos are low quality and pixelated...
So far I've tried the following to no avail:
- Uninstalling and Reinstalling intergrated video drivers (Intel HD 4400) and Nvidia 3D drivers (Geforce 830M)
- Switching scaled views in the display section
- Installing VLC (with the latest codecs) to test if it was a codec issue
- Running a windows update
- Changing Graphic settings that may intefere with issues in quality (both Intel HD settings app and Nvidia 3D settings)
Windows Apps and programs aren't affected, only video playback.
First day of using my new HP Notebook, and i'm hoping to resolve this issue promptly.
Cheers.
Sometime over the last couple of days, my touchscreen stopped working entirely--and, when I go into Settings and PC info, I get told that there is no touch input available for my computer ("No pen or touch input is available for this Display"). This is an HP Pavilion TS 11 Notebook PC (Model 11-e010nr), and it certainly DID have touch input up until now.

Toshiba Modelatelite L75D-A Precessor AMD-A4-5000 how do i fix the green screen
I have a HP evvy touchsmart 15 and my touch screen all of a sudden is not working.
I have the fall 2013 HP Chromebook 14 (not Pavilion). It plays Netflix fine, but can't stream Amazon.com. I've tried to get help from Amazon people with no success. It gets stuck in the initial loading stage; the loading indicator keeps on circling forever. (Yes, I tried switching to Flash player.) I have similar problem with videos from some other sites; NBC News and CNBC for example; gets stuck at the same stage. Everything is up to date as far as I can tell. HELP!
edit: I bought the chromebook and live in US, not UK.

I have video on vga output but i don't have on lcd screen, i've tryed with another lcd screen but same, under the bios also i don't have screen i check my lcd display on another hp same model it's working but on mine does't work under the bios and under the windows 7. When i am checking in device manager while using vga output method on my monitor 19" LG it says that graphic card is working properly. This problem starts when i went to professional service here in my city i had problem with the motherboard doesn't want to start , the board will start and after 2 sec. shutdown automaticly, and when i went to service they fix the board for only 2 hours they said that they change some fet (mosfet not shure) located around the cpu, the laptop worked properly i paid for the service , but after 2 mounths again same problem the laptop doesn't want to start when i press the power button ,i went again to the service they said that fet again is the problem and that they will change again without make to pay againt, the next day i went to take my laptop and they explain to me that the laptop is fixed but there is another problem showed that they cannot fix ,the problem is that there is video on the lcd screen but there is video on the vga output, they said that one of the chipset or the graphic card solded on the motherboard is the problem but they are not shure which one, and if they change it it will cost too much ,they didn't wanted to pay my money back because they said that this is not their response for the new defect. So please tell me what is the problem, can somebody help because i don't belive to them so much, i ve updated the bios with the newest version because i thought that that can help but nothing , and now when i took from the service i've notice that when i turn on my laptop post screen is stoping until i press enter it's says that cannot recognize motherboard number and many more errors, when i will press enter windows will start to load. Please help me.Thanks
