Hello everybody. I'd like to know if it is possible for laptop display to lose it's brightness. I have no comparison with other model but I have feeling that my HP 6530b's display is not shining like when I bought it. I've got pretty serious problems outside.

Now, I know it is bit of an old laptop (I bought it in year 2008) and that it is nothing much but I use him just as "jukebox" on my garden parties and for car diagnostic, sometimes on vacation. Nothing serious but bigger brightness would be good.

I am willing to invest a few bucks in new display but I need to know if it helps.

What do you thing?

I have a HP Envy TS15 Notebook PC with Intel HD Graphics 4000 display adapter and have been having graphics problems ever since I bought it--apps like Netflix and Hulu, and virtually no games whatsoever--will run on it, all reporting that the graphics drivers need to be updated. It finally occurred to me to check the Device properties for the driver, and it says "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"

 

I suspect this is why the graphics are so flaky. How do I get a fix for this adapter?

Hi ,

 

I bought HP G62 laptop about 4 years ago. For 4 years it served my every need. But about 2 month ago i tried to update my windows but unfortunatelly due to power failure I couldn't complete it properly, then i rebooted my laptop but it will show blue screeen error & continue to restart.

 

I tried formatting my laptop for more than 5 times with different  os ( Windows 7 ultimate, Home basic , professional) but the problem persist. When I start my laptop it shows distorted page,  it blick for several time & then shows Blue screen error but  when I opened it in safe mode & disable/uninstall the graphics driver then it works fine .

 

I recently reach out to HP sevice centre they said that the problem is with my graphics card & I should replace mothereboard itself.

 

Is there is any way out of it other than HP folks already given??

 

Please reply & give me solution as soon possible.

Problem is the laptop screen flickered and went off several times, displaying error message that AMD crashed. I reinstalled the drivers replacing the older with the older version and then with the latest version given on the website.
But in both cases, the laptop screen totally went blank not even showing the BIOS screen. I connected it to the external monitor to get the output. It shows a bluescreen dead screen and restarts. However, it boots up on the safe mode (but on a external monitor).

However, The laptop screen is off blank throughout.

I tried booting it up with Linux-Fedora 20 XFCE, but it gave error in loading Radeon graphic card, and it did not even boot up.

I bought a system in Aug 2014 .  Two days ago, after I used the system, I did normal shutdown  and left it. Next day when I opened the system, the screen was half white and half black with a black leaf like structure in the bottom right corner. I can assure you that nothing unusual happened. Now the HP peple are saying it is accidental damage. I have to pay a huge amount even though it is in warranty. Is is possible that windows update and shutdown do some damage? I do not have any clue of even accidentally damaging it. It was perfectly working and the next morning (I only took it from the shelf),  the system display completely stopped, It is something I can't digest.. If only something had happened.. like keeping an object above it.. As far as I know nothing could have possibly happened. I saw a few more blogs like this. Please explain.

Hi there...

 

I just bought  HP 14-g003AU Notebook PC.. but i have stucked to adjust screen brightness..

 

I installed Windows 7 64 bit OS..

 

my adjust screen brightness is missing.. I have tried to

• download VGA driver (AMD Catalyst). But it doens't work either..
• Uninstall Generic PnP Driver Moniter and install again.. not work
• Uninstall Standard VGA Graphic Adapter.. and install again.. not work..
• Try to update automatically Display adapter.. not work..
• Update Windows 7.. Not work
• Reformat OS.. not work
• Update LAtest BIOS.. not work

 

 

Is there anything i can do or i have missed? please help me...

Hi !

 

i recently purcased a new HP pavillion laptop,windows 8 and i am having some problems with playing videos on youtube, facebook, etc.

 

youtube & facebook will open the video but then the screen goes black, the video does not play at all. I downloaded Adobe Reader X1 and that has not helped the problem at all.

 

Next thing is that when i log into my laptop a number of pages pop up, such as My PC backup, clean registry free & a warning link about not being able to locate something within the laptop, how do i stop this?

 

One last thing, when i click on a link in internet explorer it opens automatcally as a new tab and then further links within a site/page open as a new tab again and again creating numerous amount of tabs which makes keeping track of work quite messy.

 

I look forward to hearing your response & hope that you can help me with these issues.

On my HP DV4 notebook, s/n#[edited Serial Number by Moderator], I noticed something wrong with my video adapter while installing XBMC, it wouldn't install due to the cause of 'GUI' failure.  Went to my 'Device Manager' and see the video adapter is yellow, Did refresh, uninstall, update,rollback, none of them change a thing.  It display the following message:

(This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)

If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.

Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.)

Any suggestion as to fixing or finding out the cause?

Running on Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit........

Hi, when I try to boot my PC it doesn't boot, the Caps Lock light blinking only one time; but the fan is running.

I tried to boot by cd but nothing happens.

Hey,

 

Only since the last two weeks I have been having this "black screen" problem with my laptop. It happens both when I turn on my laptop after having shut it down and also when I try to log back in after having put it on sleep. The machine runs, lights are on, everything is practically running, EXCEPT the screen seems to show nothing. Pitch black. I have to then shut it down with the "long press"  of the power button. When i do that multiple times it works, sometimes after a single  try most times after 5-6.

I tried the Hard Reset, did not work.

Windows Vista SP2

 

Would appreciate any help

I have a  HP  Envy dv6 audio beats laptop and I did not have the administrator password. Watched video on you tube that shows a man taking the cmos battery out of the laptop cutting the wires and attching them back the opposite way. Stick the battery back in for 5 sec and that reset the bios. WRONG...I did that now my laptop will light up when you turn it on and that it. Screen doesnt work doesnt sound like its loading up.  Cap Lock light blinks and internet putton stays on/

I have the laptop noted above.

 

It is equipped with an Intel HD 4600 graphics card.

 

Question:  How many monitors in addition to the laptop screen will the card allow to connect?

 

It drives 2 additional monitors via a docking station, but they are both noted as monitor 2 and show the same picture.

 

I want to have to capability of utilizing 2 larger screens for CAD applicaitons.

 

It worked for a short time, until a reboot.

 

I have tried expanding it to the adjacent screen, but when I select "Identify" the 3rd monitor still shaws up as #2.

Hi 

 

I have a HP dv2117tx notebook and my display isn't working. The computer swithes on fine but the display isn't working at all. The display started experiencing problems a few months ago with intermitent lines on the screen. The frequency of the lines increased in the last month and now, the display isn't showing anything.

 

I would really appreciate any useful advice. Thank You

When I switch the laptop on, I can hear the fan, the wifi and caps lights come on but the display remains blank. This happened about two weeks ago so I did a hard reset and that worked. When my laptop, which is a pavilion g6-1112sa model that I've only had for two tears went into sleep mode yesterday I tried to awaken it but the screen just remained blank. I've tried a hard reset again today but it doesn't work at all.

HP Spectre 13-3010dx

 

I have the above Ultrabook, still under warranty. It has hardly been used thus far.  Running Windows 8.1

 

My problem is that the touchscreen thinks I'm touching the upper left hand corner, (tap tap tap tap), even though I'm not. It is unusable.

 

Is this a driver issue, or a hardware issue?

I tried to do the "live technician chat" but it could not find a technician for the Spectre. I tried browsing the different HP product types and could not find any Spectre ultrabooks or any other ultrabooks. So I ended up here.

I have a HP Pavilion DV7, I recently added two external monitors. They stay connected for a few minutes and they start flicker and lose connection. My laptop monitor also flickers and goes black. This never happened before connecting the two external Acer monitors. 

 

My computer also sounds off a tone indicating a new software has been detected, the tone sounds right before the connection is lost and they the tone sounds again once the connection is established. 

 

Please advise on how to resolve.

Hello, I'm finding the curser pad to be useless on this new computer. It's a windows 8 operating system so I can use the touchscreen to do what I want, but the curser should work. It jumps around, stops moving, disappears.

I've only had this computer about a week. Any suggestions for a downloadable fix or upgrade?
