mouse pointer goes off edge of monitor
I have an HP laptop on which the mouse pointer disappears off of the top and right hand edge of the screen / monitor. When the point is moved to the top and right hand edges of the screen the ENTIRE pointer is gone, then have to move mouse a great distance to either the upward or left direction to get the pointer to come back on the screen, i.e. it's as if there is a void or second monitor that the mouse pointer is going into BUT that is not the case because a secondary monitor has never been used with the laptop and there are no settings in the BIOS regarding usage of an external nor secondary monitor.
I don't have the laptop with me right now, so I can not give exact model and specs. of the laptop. Will get them if needed.
Pointer does NOT disappear from the bottom or left hand edge of the screen.
The laptop has a USB wireless mouse controller plugged into the laptop but this disappearing happens if a wireless mouse is used and also if a wired mouse is used. Also, happens if the touchpad is used.
This disappearing of the mouse pointer happens regardless of what operating system is used on the laptop. It happens under MS windows and also happens under Linux Mint 17. Happened under the original MS OS and then when MS was taken off of machine and then Linux Mint was installed the problem still occurred.
Is there a possibility that this laptop is not compatible with the wireless mouse controller that is plugged in ???
Any other thoughts as to what may be the cause of the disappearing mouse pointer.

YouCam video won't play - only audio. Used link from apps page. Can see screen capture.
Hi there,
We recorded a 1 minute video using Cyberlink Youcam (the one on the 8.1 apps page, as opposed to the one with shortcut on the main desktop page - Youcam5.) We can see te screenshot of the video, and hear the audio for entire duration of recording, but the video screen is only green. Help please!

Problem with drivers graphics card
Hello,
My laptop is running the radeon hd 6470m and I've installed the driver HP offers on this website (this is version 8.882.2.0). Now this driver is running fine, except for when I try to play certain games. I like to play the game League of Legends and with this driver installed this game does not run properly, so I tried and revert the driver back to the one that came with it when I first got this laptop (this is version 8.830.6.3000). Now the weird thing is that with this driver installed I can play League of Legends but other games and certain programs dont run properly on this driver, I assume because this is an older driver. Now I basically just want to have a driver installed which can run both.
I am not sure whether this is the right forum to post this problem, but it's the first one I try
My laptop:
Hp Pavilion g7 1270sd
It has switchable graphics with the Radeon hd 6470m and the Intel graphics.

Have a 2 month old Pavilion 11 x2 notebook

Came with Win 8 , upgraded to 8.1
Now can't adjust screen brightness
Device manager reports Microsoft basic display adapter and not Intel Hd adapter.
Tried to install Intel HD display adapter form HP support website for exact part number.
Result is "computer does not meet minimum requirements" so fails to correctly install.
Anyone found a solution? (win 8.1 64bit)

Sleep/shutdown erroe, Video fatal erroe
I'm having annoying priblems mentioned in the title. First of all, I cannot make my Laptop go to sleep. Whenever I press the power button or close the lid (which I set to make the laptop sleep), the laptop goes to "sleep" condition with the power lights flashing, wifi lights on... It seems to sleep but if I press something to wake it up, it boots like it just shutted down (it actually shutted down as i check google chrome it says my computer shutdown incorrectly). Second problem is, when I press lock (under my account picture in Start), it locks (I dont know if it goes to sleep too or not), but when I wake it up, it has an video dxgkrnl fatal error and it restarts. They are annoying but they dont appear when i use the laptop ( I havent checked if the error appears when i watch videos). They only show up when i make the laptop sleep. Furthermore, these errors appear immediately after I updated to windows 8.1 x64 single language.
Please help me asap. I'm looking for solutions everywhere but nothing work. If you (HP support) have any solutions, please reply here with detailed instruction as I'm new to computer. Thank you in advance.

Envy monitor HDMI problem
Dear Forum,
I have had the hard-disk on my HP Envy 13 1050 changed and Win 7 reinstalled. I have jsut bought a new monitor to connect via HDMI, but the notebook is not recognising the monitor as an option.
I am wondering if i am missing a driver since the rebuild?
Any advice would be gratefully received.

Black screen problem
I have an HP Envy Ultrabook which was working fine until I accepted another update of Windows 8.1 a few days ago.
Now I have a black screen after the HP circle and the keyboard selection.
I have since being trawling forums and trying the many suggestions.
I have tried without success to start windows in safe mode. (F8 and F4 and using the command prompt).
Am unable to open normal windows so cannot access safe mode this way.
I have tried to enter the bios (F10).
These ended in a black screen.
Blank screen when I connected the HD cable to a tv also.
I was unable to refresh the PC as a hard drive was lock. No idea how to unlock it.
It did not recognise the USB hard drive for me to run a back up.
I does not manager to run a system recovery to a previous date.
As I could not get the cover off, I am unable to take out the batteries and thus cannot do a hard reset as suggested for the notebook. I did undo every screw and try.
So what else can I try before I reset the machine completely?
