I have a HP Pavilion dv6-3110em.
It is connected to a external monitor all the time.
It works great and it doesnt heat too much, its only a little warm .
But when I take it, for example, to a friends house to play League of Legends, the game starts to lag, and laptop heats really bad.
I cleaned the dust to try again, no luck.
Please help me about this problem, Sincearly, Marko.
I tried everything I could but am not able to adjust the brightness of my laptop (i.e. HP 250 G2 Notebook). Please help me.
On startup, after the windows logo displays, and AT the sign in screen, the screen goes black. You can faintly see the sign in in the background. If i get my password entered you can very faintly see my desk top. Somehow, I discovered that unplugging the power cord, then touching the power button to put it to sleep, and then waking it back up would bring the screen/display on, dim but workable. If I used it that way for 10-15 minutes and then plugged the power cord back in, it would flicker, but then return to normal brightness. It would stay on for the rest of the day. (It is on 8 to 10 hours a day.) After about three weeks, however, that "trick" no longer works. No matter what I do, the display only stays on for 3 or 4 seconds. I have tried the hard reset. No results. Funny, the last time I booted it up, I pushed ESC, and had it do all the "diagnostic" tests with no problem with that display until the battery went dead. The screen displays for all that! What I DO know about computers is self taught and THAT isn't much! Can somebody help me...in laymans terms. It's running Vista. I live in a remote location so...I'm 125 miles, one way, from the nearest technician. I hope I just need a battery! Oh, & I tried unplugging the mouse. No results.
For amounts of time my laptop will not allow me to watch any type of video and I cannot figure out why. The screen completely goes green, why?
HP Pavilion TouchSmart 15-b129wm Sleekbook screen is all of sudden fuzzy and unclear. I've had it about 8 months and it started all of a sudden. Have tried correcting by restarting it, checking for HP updates, and nothing has corrected the issue. Hope you're able to help. I love this laptop, but would hate to return it/change to another...

I have hp pavilion 15 e014tx which has 2GB dedicated graphic card amd radeon hd 8760m and 4GB ram.
First question:can i change my graphic card and replace it with a better graphic card for gaming?
Second question: will adding more ram will improve my gaming performance and also do i have an extra slot for another ram?
after updating the graphics since yhe program: open hardware monitor http://openhardwaremonitor.org/ told me it did not have any load even when stress testing the screen went black, so i restarted the laptop, it goes fine into the hp loading screen but when it boots to windows it goes black again, i have done a system restore now, but i would like to use the full potential of my laptop and not only the APU's gpu

I installed Windows 8.1 Update 1 x64 to my HP Pavilion G6 2240SH laptop. I started install the drivers and I got an error message in the Intel High-Definition setup: "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software."
my computer screen goes dark when i plug in the power cord. it comes back after 2 or 3 second latter. my laptop model (hp 15-r019tu). how can i solved it?
Now I know that some other series like the dv6s, 1xxx, etc have the ability while mine does not but HP can do something about this.. I mean while updating BIOSes for the swithchable graphics option, did HP just forgot about the 2000 serieses.. Can somebody please enlighten me on this or is there any way like crack the BIOS and get the options.. I mean literally anything would help!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On my HP Elitebook 8770w with Windows 8.1 64 and NVIDIA Quadro K3000M, Turn off the display (function in PowerOptions) does not work?
PowerOptions are set to 5min to Turn off the display, but it does not work. Only one short brigthess "Dim".
I tried to change Advanced Power Settings / Display / Disable Adaptive Brightness, but it does not work.
Do you have any other solution?

Have posted about this but I think I may not have written up subject correctly. This screen is a real nuisance - so reflective. has anyone else got one? I have chnaged screen brightness - but why do they make it like this?

I have an HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook that I can't get the onboard camera to function for Skype purposes. It is running Windows 7 home premium at 64 bit. The Cyberlink WebCam virtual driver indicates it is both updated and working proplerly. We are stumped! Any advice?......and thank you so much!!!

When my daughter made contact with me yesterday I wasn't able to 'click on' my webcam - which I have used previously.
I've gone through all the processess of reloading my Laptop, without success. I can't seem to get the drivers to work, or my webcam or even camera - without having to make another payment!!
Can you please help because I'd like it back again, especially as it was already integrated with this computer. I'd like to contact my daughter via Skype again - and get to see her and my grandson.
