I bought this laptop about 1.5 Years ago or so.  Out of the box with the original installed Windows 8, the screen brightness adjustment worked.  After the upgrade to 8.1 (Which I did a long time ago) the screen brightness adjustment no longer functions and the brightness is stuck on Max/Hi.  Now that I am tending to working in darker environments due to my job, this extremely bright screen is getting to be unbearable.  I don't know where to go or what drivers work to restore the brightness adjustement.  Even when I go to the control panel, there used to be a location in Power Settings which is no longer available.

 

Again the upgrade to 8.1 was done a long time ago and this has been a problem ever since. I've just not done anything about it.

 

What information do I need to post to get some help on this?

Hi, I have a HP notebook that I connected to my Samsung tv and I can't get sound on my TV just my laptop, I have downloaded I don't know how many drivers from previous blogs and boring helps. In the control panel menu under sounds the HDMI option doesn't exist what an I don't wrong?

I have an HP Pavilion g6-1b50us and I cannot get it to output an HDMI signal to any of my LCD TVs.  Neither the computer or the TVs detect any kind of connection.  I have tried selecting multiple displays in the personalization menu and the "Connect to a projector" options but still no dice.  Any help would be appreciated.

Is the display warranty is covered after new purchace ??

 

the uneven display resting surface created some mark on the display and support is telling me that is not covered in warranty.

HP Envy 15 J112TX notebook has worked well for a week. Windows 8. The screen is black but can hear the fan going. Hard reset didn't help. External monitor didn't connect - it said to check the video connection. The cord was connected HDMI to DVI. Did another reset. Now i have switched it on and off a few times so that when i switch it on after a minute it will make asmall pop sound and then the fan stops making noise and it won't switch off despite holding dow the power button for a minute. 

I disabled the nvidia graphics card a few days ago to try and save on power as it also has an intel graphics card. But it worked fine for a couple of days after i did that.

running Adobe premier elements 11 but want to run version 12.

Downloaded trial system but will not run as display graphics should be updated.

 

I have an HP Pavilion dv6

Type QG797EA#ABU

 

The radeon graphics is 6490M 8.882.2.3000

 

What do I do???

Three years before, in my school, we bought 7 pieces of HP Probook 4535s. We used VGA cables to connect projectors for two years, but we needed to change them. I´ve tried to connect certified HDMI cables (10 metres), but it doesn´t work yet.

 

I tried:

• connect another computer HP Probook 4370s, HP Probook 455 G2, HP Sleekbook of my wife - connection was OK
• change HDMI cable and buy ACTIVE HDMI cable - connection was OK, but not with 4535s 
  (both cables was compatible HDMI 1.3)
• connect 4535s into my TV through 1,5 metres long HDMI - worked properly
• update AMD drivers from your website, and update the newest version from amd.com  - no sollution

My question is:

 What is difference between HDMI in 4370s, 455 G2 and 4535s? It seems to be problem with power consumption.

Hi!

 

This is my first time to do something like this. I'm desperate. I'm using an HP Pavilion TS Sleekbook 14. Suddenly my touchscreen stopped working. I'm not sure if it was because of a recent update that happened on my laptop, but I believe it is. Hopefully someone will respond to this. I really need help.

I have a split x2 and the touch screen randomly goes out.  I can't get it to work again if it's undocked.  If it's docked I can typically open and close the lid, but it doesn't alway work.  Sometimes, when docked, both the touchscreen and the "touchpad" doesn't work and I have to restart.  This is a new laptop and shouldn't have these issues.  Please advise on how to get this to an acceptable, usable state.

My Pavilion dm4-3002sa has dual graphics, Intel[R] HD Graphics Family and AMD Radeon. Earlier this year AMD Radeon disapeared from the Device Manager and since than Laptop has only used Intel Graphics.

I have done clean install of an Operating System, Windows 7 (64bit), but the AMD Radeon doesn't show.

Does this mean that the card has failed, and if you have any suggestion, it would be appreciated.

On different, probably unconnected subject, the laptop is very hot at the top left corner. Would this have something to do with dust blocking the vents, and if so, does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi, I have rune into an issue with a Pavilion g60-230us laptop that I can't seem to resolve. After going to sleep or closing the lid, when I open the lid again the laptop wakes up, but the display never resumes. I can see it kind of try to come on, but nothing ever shows on the screen. I am currently on Windows 8.1 Pro, but saw the behavior when it was still on Windows 7 Premium. The system is 32 bit and not running a separate display adapter, just the integrated Intel configuration. I have tried downloading the latest Windows 7 driver from the HP support page for the g60 but it didn't help. I have also deleted the display in device manager, rebooted and let Windows find and install its own driver, but this also didn't help. Keyboard and mouse both have the box checked for allow this device to wake the computer in the power settings.

 

I'm hoping someone has run into and resolved this issue and has an answer.

BTW, the instructions here "How to Change the Screen Orientation on an HP Pavilion | eHowhttp://bit.ly/Vl02Et" failed at the point of being able to find a drop down that gave the option to change the orientation.

Hi all, I have a HP Envy M6-1158ca, and recently my Built-in display stopped working. I plugged it into an external display via HDMI and it showed no input. It seems as though the laptop is not booting into Windows either, as usually whenever my laptop boots into windows, the fingerprint scanner blinks letting me know I can now sign in using it. I am extremly frustrated with this, and have an unbelieveable amount of stress because this was my only PC. Please respond as soon as possible, it would be much appreciated.

When I have no other screen connected and rotate a 3D model within my 3D modelling software it will rotate one more click about half a second after i complete my command. If I connect a screen via display port the issue goes away. 

If I connect via VGA the issue is still there?

 

What the difference. What is happening when I connect via display port and can I configure the machine to be setup like that from default.

 

I have already update all NVidia graphics drivers and the Machines Bios, no luck
