One day my Envy 17 booted up with the screen split and mirrored image. I've gone into the display settings and it was set on landscape normal, I changed it to landscaped flipped. This did nothing. I changed it back. I then change this setting to port. flipped the screen flipped per the instruction. I changed it back. Has anybdy had this problem?

I have a problem while installing the wireless button driver(sp63752), I am getting the error 1722.
I searched for the solution . From some solution I got I installed the update BIOS driver sp66772.
But even after that I am not able to install the Wireless Button Driver. And WIFI button is not working.

Hi there!My laptop model no is HP Pavilion dv4 3015tx. It holds an HDMI slot but I'm not sure whether it is an HDMI input or an output. Does it support HDMI input?? Can I connect my Laptop to Playstation 3 and use it as a display device?

I was using my notebook with a friend one day and she leaned on it and cause whole screen to rotated to the side. Even the mouse pad is broken, when i sroll right it goes up and when i scoll up it goes right. Is there a way i can fix the problem at home or do i need to take it to a place where it can be looked at?
Earlier today I tried to start my laptop and the screen remained black, but the power button was lit up and the caps lock keywas flashing. I tried to google what was wrong, and there seemed to be a whole bunch of potential problems. What should I do?

Internal Camera stopped working. not recognized in the Device manager. no options to effect the change, having read patiently through the all forum links.
- got updated all the drivers related to webcam
- reinstalled Cyberlink software - got even the version 6. nothing.
- physically reinstalled the driver - not accepting by the system
- can not remove the battery and make the blank restart of the system - sleekbook, battery inside. warranty labels
- having short nails to follows the ideas of yourtube
- recovery is not the option unless the only left.

recent changes to the system:
- windows shadowground update - don't know what exactly changed
- updating the Bios
- deleting some unusefull fiatures of some MS Visual C++ 2005 (had seen some hint for this - is it real)
- installed the set of Intel Wireless Drivers, Intel PROSet, and My WiFi for Microsoft
after that noticed the malfunction related to the wife screaming unable to chat in the Skype with the girls - go outside for shopping and relax. but became my pain in the ass. needs to fix fast fellows.
any additional ideas?

Hi. I have a problem. I bought a Hp Notebook last Saturday, and i have windows 8.1 on it. The problem is that the brightness is very high and is affecting my eyes. I saw that F2 and F3 are the buttons do minimize or maximize the brightness, when i press on them they appear with that scale up an down but when i am trying to make the brightness lower it doesn`t work. Also i tried from My Control Panel to resolve and adjust the brightness and when the brightness is on 0% is no difference. Is the same high brightness. What can I do ? I tried to download programs from google and also didn`t work. Please help me, because i can`t spend my time on my new laptop cause my eyes are starting to hurt... Thank you !

There were many topics related to witchable graphics.
But I have not any issue with them in standard meaning "it renders", the system is stable and working with lastest driver.
I have problem with detecting a secondary card in apps.
The best of all, I'll say exact problem I have.
I would like to participate in some beta test, which includes the system chceck of my PC. And the app detects only Intel HD 4000. Always (app can be run in any mode, with any graphic settings throug Catalyst Control Center). I have tried to disable Intel graphic in Control panel, that the second one, AMD Radeon 7500/7600M should be the only working. Monitor blinks, screen is "reloaded", everything seems to be fine. But then, the system-checking app shows "Microsoft Basic Render Driver" with 0MB video memory.
So, is there any way, how to "tell" the app, that there is (only) my high-power video card?
My PC runs on Win 8.1

I just received my Envy 15-j186na. When I check under device drivers the nvidia graphics card 840m is not listed, only the Intel HD Graphics 4600.
I tried downloading the latest nvidia driver from the HP support page but when I run this the initial system check reports that it "cannot find any compatible graphics hardware" and stops.
I have instaled all available windows and HP updates including the latest BIOS but it doesn't resolve the issue.
Can someone please help?

Hi, I have a HP HDX 16 1160-US and a while back, my screen went all of a sudden dark but if I put my face very close to the screen, I could see the desktop icons and start button. I looked around on the internet for possible reasons that this happened. One of the solutions was to change the lcd inverter, therefore I changed it. Once i turned the laptop on with the new lcd inverter, the laptop displayed everything alright, but after I turned it off and on, the screen went dark again. I searched some more on the internet and found another solutuon and that was to change the backlight. To me it made sense to change it because thats where the whole lighting comes from, so I changed that too, but unfortunately that didn't work either. I didn't know what else I should do after this point so I called HP to see if I can give it to them to repair it but they don't have parts anymore for my laptop.
Now im on here asking if anybody has this similar problem and If they gotten it resolved. If you guys can help me out, that would be helpful.
