Hp pavilion dv6-6128nr(A3X34UA)
Intel chipset(i5)
Not sure if Graphics card is applicable
Problem:
Laptop screen works if you move the screen around sometimes, however picture will eventual stop and fade into a dark grey screen. External monitor works. I have already teplaced the Lcd cable. My next guess is the screen. A while back the screen broke and Hp replaced it under warranty. It worked for a year but now this problem arised. Now the computer boots straight into a wbige screen and after a while that screen fades into grey.

I have a external CD- DVD, Windows 8.1 It will play CD's but not DVD's. Do I need to download a Ap?

My laptop screen tends to go completly black, but only when I am playing League of legends. I dont play any other games. I just mainly use skype and some social media. I'm curious what may be causing this because it works fine with everything else. Here is some info you may need.

 

 Hp Pavilion g6 series.  (Product Number- 2H615UA#ABA)  (BIOS Version/Date- Hewlett-Packard F.4912425-2012) (Driver Version/Date 80801.1.3000  12/15/2010) 

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

help me . ASAP!

i have a compaq presario CQ42 . today i has disassembling my laptop and applying thermal paste on cpu and gpu . so , the problem is when i play games about 5min or 10min my laptop suddenly go on sleep and shutdown itself then i try to restart it and after that i get this message

"The system bios has detected your notebook PC was placed in hibernation to avoid overheating .
The system is now operating normally and your data should remain intact.
 
Overheating may occur if the cooling vents are blocked or the operating temperature exceed the specification. The notebook PC should return to normal operation once the situation is resolved.

I am an HP DV6-6c38TX  running Windows 7 x64

 

I also have VMWare Workstation 10 installed.

 

Drivers installed for the webcam are ;

 

ksthunk.sys

usbvideo.sys

 

Issues  ;

 

1) running in normal Windows 7 x64 base machine  (not VMWare)

 

a)

after booting the laptop I can use the webcam

 

b)

I run an app to capture an image and it works fine. I then close the app.

 

c) 

I open Skype and use the webcam and then Exit Skype. 

 

 

d)

I open the app again and it says - could not detect webcam device  (assuming this comes from the app)

 

f)

I open Skype and check the webcam and it works. I stop the webcam (Skype still running)

 

g)

I start the app again and now the webcam works

 

h)

I Quit Skype, runthe app again, and it now says - could not detect webcam device

 

This is really driving me crazy and is very Frustrating.

 

That is just for the Laptop running as is.

 

 

2)  VMWare

 

now in VMWare, this is worse.

 

a)

I attach the Webcam

 

b)

I run the same app, but it says - could not detect webcam device

 

c)

I close VWMare

 

d)

Now no app detects the webcam, not the app, not Skype.

 

e)

I check the Device Manager and in fact the webcam now does not even appear in the Dedvice Manager.

 

What he heck is going on ????

 

Any help appreciated.

I have been fighting this problem for a long time now.  When I switch video to the pc input all I get is snow.  I then have to turn the TV off and back on or unplug HDMI cable and plug back in and video works.  I just installed a HDMI audio reciever and hope that would fix.  Still no picture when switch to pc.  Selecting the pc input on the reciever and no picture.  When  I call up the reciever menu it is pink after switching to pc input.  Turn the reciever off and back on and picture comes on.  I bought another high quility HDMI cable and same thing.  I tried putting a HDMI switch in and still no help.  From researching on the web I think it has to do with some kind of handshake problem but can not find a solution.  My laptop is:

Machine: HP TS 15-J137tx

OS: Windows 8.1 Pro

 

I recently bought HP TS 15-J137tx and its working great.

 

I just noticed a strange behaviour in my display. The icons of software like Skype, Firefox, chrome etc are pixelating while the system/windows icons are displaying perfeclty fine. 

 

 

 

If you notce in above screensot the quality of icons is not as good as it should be.

 

Also the text within the application like Skype is blury and agian this looks perfect on window's own softwares and applications.

 

 

If notice in this one the icon on task bar is not pixelating and the text within the application is blury while the text in the title is sharper and perfectly fine.

 

I tried playing with different settings in options but not able to solve this issue. Can anyone please help me with this one :-)

 I got problem with installing the latest drivers for Intel Graphics driver I recive a message that says that I don't meet the minumum requiriments to intsall that software

I keep getting a green screen and my laptop is green. Some help to why this is happening as when I sign in its green as well. One day it was fine now green plus I tried repairing it and no luck. I have a hp touch smart tm2. If I can post a picture I will try.

Recently, my screen has become misaligned with a 1/4 of the screen on the right hand side showing black. downloaded all driver updates, bios, etc. No resolve. Replaced display cable. No resolve. Changed every display option available. No resolve. However, sometimes - the machine comes back and the screen looks fine after a reboot. Other times, it goes back to the misalignment. I'm stumped. Anyone see the same issue? Everything else on the laptop works fine. And again, 'sometimes' the screen fixes itself. But that lasts maybe one or two reboots. It started when we connected an HDMI cable to our LCD TV if that helps. Thanks!

I bought my laptop for about 3 months, and now my touchscreen works at all. I searched the solution like do the setting in the Power Options > Choose what closing the lid does> When i close the lib > sleep. but it's does not works. even at the device manager, i go to human interface devices but i didn't see anything about touchscreen. 

 

Help me pls!!! If can't work still maybe i really have to send to service centre to get help from the people there. 

I want aero back :(((

HI ! I've recently uninstall intel HD Graphics from my computer because I have an AMD radeon HD 8750m and i thought that was useless and now i cannot apply window aero back just basic . What can I do ? :(

So i own an Hp Pavilion dv6-6115 ev , after two years of usage and some problems i had to format it , so thats what i did 3 days ago. Yesterday when i open it i tried to find if any problem existed , unfortunatelly it did. I like playing games so i am very carefoul about my graphics card. I have switchable graphics , one is an intel HD graphics card and the other is a Radeon for higher performance. 

 

So far so good, I have downloaded amd catalyst control centre (http://prntscr.com/3wgt9j) , but there is where the problem starts. If i right click my homepage it will be and option for switchable graphics (http://prntscr.com/3wgug1) when i click it this is what appears (its the welcome page of the amd switchable graphics) , after that i cant do nothing. Before format it would appear a page where i could choose high or economic perfornance. 

 

I tried going through catalyst control centre but this is the problem , under powerplay should be an option called switchable graphics , but there isnt. That means that amd catalyst control centre cant regognise the second graphics card installed on my pc hardware. 

 

Any solutions at this topic guys? Everything is appreciated , starting i you have no solution do you know how to manualy choose which graphics card to run , that would be a big step... I apologise for my english and the prt sc greek characters but i think you can understand the steps i follow by the symbols.

I am using hp probook 4440s. recently I installed windows 8.1.

But,after windows activation I installed km player,vlc media player,s player but any of them is not working while i am playing any video files.I also checked the driver software but i couldn't find any solution.

I bought this Envy 17 3D in December of 2010 from HP Websight. The Model is WY771AV   and runs Windows 7 with 1080P and Uses A M D 5875 Graphics.  The Last 30 days, @ boot-up, the screen will turn solid white when I try to start it up. All I can do is hold power button down to power off and retry. 9 0 % of time, retry fails(does same thing), but occasionally I can go to startup repair , run system restore and use machine for 2 or 3 times before the next white-out. Help? Please just tell me which piece of  hdwe is failing so I may replace it.

So,i have a Pavilion dv6-6070 and after reinstalitaion Windows,my computer didn't identify a Radeon Card.

I reinstaled all the drivers 3 times with Windows of course.

I used to be aple to just pop in a movie (DVD) in my old comuter and something would pop up and I could watch it. Now if I pop in a DVD nothing pops up. I dont know if I'm supposed to download something or go somewhere specific. Help?

Hi,

 

Just bought two external monitors to my Elitebook 850 G1.

 

The monitors supports 2560x1440 resolution when connected to the two DP ports in the docing. This is working ok but after an hour or so, monitor update is incredible slow. Why?

 

Computer contains 1Gb video memory. Is this the reason? Is it possible to add memory?

 

I have no need for 3D, extremly color resolution. Simply just 2560x1440.......
