Hello everyone, I am new on this community and I need help with my HP laptop.
I bought a HP G56 Notebook PC for around 1 year ago. It worked fine for like 11-12 months. Now I am having some problems with display (monitor).
The problem: I turn on my laptop and everything works fine. I can open browsers and programs and anything else, but, after a few minutes the screen turns black. My problem is a little bit different, the screen turns black but if I bring an external light I can see the display and all the icons or anything that I left running. Sometimes when I push the laptop with something here (I added a red circle on the place that I push the laptop) it works again, but when I don't push it, it turns to black again:
(This is not my laptop, just took it as an example)
Can you please help me and explain how to fix it?
Thanks in advance,
Abi.
I would also like to let you know that it works perfectly with an external monitor. But I still need to fix my problem!
Hello,
I installed window 8 on my Envy 17 and the screen constantly flickers. It jumps up and down. I tried changing the drivers but it only fixes the problem temporarily. I want to know if there is a solution to this. Are there any display drivers compatible with Windows 8 for this laptop? My product information is below.

Hi all,
Our company has a couple of Revolve 810's that were purchased for use in tablet mode for presentations. We use these with the compatible docking station to connect up to a projector with a VGA connection. We had envisaged allowing the presenters to write on the pad during the presentation, but once engaged in the dock it locks the screen in a 180 degree from standard lanscape orientation. This is the desired arrangement when using with the dock as a standard laptop, but isn't any use when using it as a tablet with the intention of using it with a pen. Is there any way of manually overriding the lockdown function when docked or is there a manual rotate option? Has anyone come across this issue before and if so, I would be interested in hearing any alternative solution you might have used.
Thanks,
John
HP Pavilion dv6 6169-er
Windows 7 Home Basic (64-bit)
I've downloaded amddriverdownloader.exe and executed it. It said i need to download catalyst_mobility_64-bit_util.exe and i did it. Then after i tried to install the driver itself, the error window appeared: "Unable to download AMD Catalyst Mobility due to its incompatibility with hardware or software of your computer."
I bought laptop in Sep' 11 and since that time i reinstalled OS only once - because of BSODs. I didn't save HP programs but I installed licensed Windows and used the key on the bottom of my laptop. What's the problem with incompatibility? What should i do to update drivers?
Hello all
Lately the screen of my laptop started acting weird.
Sometimes the brightness won't turn on fully though it's set to the max.
On the lower part of the screen it looks like some of the lights are turned off.
I've uploaded a photo so you can see what I mean.
Is a screen replacing is needed or maybe something else?
Thanks.
G62-144DX Laptop
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit OEM
All current Windows updates. Tried rollback of video driver from HP - no change.
Current Intel video driver 8.15.10.2622
Current monitor driver 3.0.0.0 Samsung Syncmaster 940BW/199bw/941bw - 1/30/2007
I can get another computer (HP Pavillion multimedia) through it's VGA connector to wake this external Samsung LCD, and then plug it into the G62-144DX. Configure Extended monitor and works perfectly.
However, the G62-144dx cannot wake this monitor by itself through VGA or HDMI.
Thanks in advance
Hello HP
I love your work and all, love your design but the support for this notebook when it comes to drivers?
Last update on HP Support site for drivers and all is from APRIL of 2011! Version 8-something... Newest AMD/ATI drivers is 13.4 or so (stable version)
My notebook is: HP ProBook 4720s Notebook PC
And I would like to update the driver for my AMD Radeon HD 6300M Series (I think that it's 6370)
And I have went to ATI/AMD drivers site many, many times... Used the autodetect features and so on... EVERYTIME the driver that was already on this notebook just wouldn't let it update... I would like to update it, because... It's already 2 years from the time the driver that I AM still using came out.
So if you please could help me solve this problem? Please?
- When I used the autodetect feature, it downloaded the driver but it always said that my graphic card is incompatible...
graphic driver upgrades for windows 7 pro (intel core I5..2009 ver.) ..that will enable the use of Windows Movie Maker. what drive upgrades are needed and where to obtain. the intel download GEX_WIN7_64_8.15.10.2761.EXE. doesn't work.. if anyone has a solution...many thanks
I inadvertently uninstalled the Roxio software on my HP Pavilion dv7 notebook PC. How can i reinstall it?

Display problem but running vista.
Purchased the hp9300us new and didn't start using it until I retired. Only had 40 or 50 hours on it when the display went bad as I was pushing the screen back from the keyboard to see it better. Everything is still displayed but all the black wording is hard to read because it has color imbeded in it. In other words if you had a black line it would be black for awhile then rainbow color for a while than back to black. I have connected it to an external monitor and all seems to be ok. HP told me I needed a new screen for $400 (out of warranty) so I closed it up and hadn't turned it on for years until today.
i have a problem while playing games on my HP pavilion g6 2006tx. i always need to play games while charging my laptop otherwise they give very bad fps and do not play smooth. i also updates my graphics card drivers from hp site.
I have a nearly 3 year old HP Pavilion G62t-350 with Windows 7 Home Premium. I have not received related error messages or made any significant changes to the system recently.
I first noticed the problem when I was playing a game, and there were random streaks shooting diagonally across the screen, very quickly, at random intervals. Shortly after that, I noticed that my desktop background has a distortion at the bottom of the screen in which a small strip near the bottom of the picture looks slightly displaced (the rest of the picture is fine). That problem has been pretty constant for the past week. It has also evolved into what looks like dead pixels on brief examination, but if it's on a web page, the dots all over the page will stay in the same place on the page (in relation to the other things on the page) even as I scroll up and down, but there is a chance that they will be gone if I scroll them off the page and then back again. They've become more frequent over the week (it's getting very difficult to read anything on here).
I have tried taking a screen shot of the problem to show people, but it doesn't actually show up in the screen shot. I've also tried hooking it up to a different screen to see if it still has this distortion problem, and it does. I've also run the diagnostic tests available on the computer (hitting F2 during startup, before Windows boots up), and they all came back clean.
My first inclination is that it's a graphics card issue, but I was really hoping it might be a cheaper, easier fix? From what I understand from the owner's manual, the graphics card is part of the motherboard, so the entire motherboard would need to be replaced.
If I'm right, and it is a graphics card issue (in that it's melting to the motherboard), is there a newer motherboard with a more powerful CPU available as a spare part which would fit and work in my laptop (i.e. it doesn't need a bigger power supply, it doesn't run so hot that my fan can't keep up, it doesn't have different size plugs to attach the hard drive to, etc.)?
Any help/confirmation you can give me would be wonderful! Thank you!
I have an HP 2000 Notebook PC. I want to know how to change the picture that shows up before I hit the spacebar to log in. It's almost like a lock screen picture on a phone. Please comment if you have any solutions. Thanks!
Hi, I have just bought a brand new HP ENVY dv7-7332e yesterday, and when I load up Cyberlink youcam or Skype I get the messages 'no webcam detected'
I've been into devices and device manager and there is no webcam (imaging category) I scanned for changes too.
Looking through the forum there seams to be many people with the same issue and now I'm getting worried because I hear it may be a wire that's desconnected from the inside. It's brand new out of the box only yesterday.
Please advise.
Regards, Michael Thomas
