Is my DP dead?

I bought my probook 6550b in august 2010.  it's running windows 7 prof. 64-bit.  I normally could watch the display on tv using the probook's dp hdmi cable.

Last week, the tv suddenly blacked out when we were watching a video from the laptop to the tv. here's the connection:

laptop -> display port -> cable -> hdmi -> tv

I connected another device to the same hdmi port on the tv and it works.
i bought a new dp-hdmi cable to replace the old one but it still doesn't work watching laptop on tv via dp.
i downloaded and run dp diagnostic tool but i can't understand what it says.
attached is a screen shot of the dp diag tool report.

question:
could it be just a driver problem or my dp adapter is dead?

thank you.

Switchable Graphic Problem AMD & Windows 8.1- Solved

Follow the steps accurately

1. Open This Pc or My Computer and then go to Uninstall or change a program

2. As the list is displayed, you will see Intel Graphic Driver & AMD Catalyst install manager. You have to uninstall it both in express mode so that no other previous setting are available anymore.

3. First, uninstall Intel Graphics driver. If it asks for a restarting the pc than go for it.

4. As the list is displayed, you will see AMD Catalyst install manager, right click it and uninstall it in express mode. Uninstall all the AMD component. Restart your PC as it will ask you.

5. Go to This Pc or My Computer and then C Drive. Open Program Files & Program Files (x86) both of them if you are running 64-bit Os. In the search box write AMD and you will find some remaining files- delete them all.

6. Now you PC is free of previous drives and the remaining files. Although right click to Windows sign and go to Device Manager. You will see Display adapters and uninstall them both. This step is not necessary but just to be sure that your PC has no previously installed drivers.

7. Open your browser and download the latest Intel Graphics Driver for your PC. My driver was Win64_153322. Install it. If you install it correctly than you are half way through. Restart your PC if it requires.

8. Go to AMD web site and download the latest driver. To avoid complicacy best option is to download Autodetect. Because it will choose the best appropriate driver for your system. File name is amddriverdownloader.

9.  Open the file amddriverdownloader and download the driver. Download will be completed and it will start automatically the installation. Install it in express mode. Restart your PC as it will ask you to do it.

10. Hopefully your driver problems will be solved. To check it go to device manager and see if the drivers are installed correctly. Turn on CCC and give it a try to play a game in High Performance. You will see the problem is solved.

This is how I solved my AMD graphics problem. I been suffering since I installed Windows 8.1 just after it was released and today 15 Jun 14 I solved the issue. I can play any game in High performance now.

If you think my opinion is helpful to you than Please share it.

I am having trouble getting my HP 15-go12dx laptop to install the ATI R5 drivers correctly for windows 7 64 bit.  I have tried the ati catylist software and even the drivers listed on HP's support web site, but the device manager keeps pinging it as a caution with the following message:

"Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)"

It will also not allow the aero shading effects for the desktop features, and my catalyist software keeps saying that no graphics card has been installed.

I have removed-reienstalled-and even reformatted my PC at this point....... HELP!

I just updated my brand new HP Pavilion 11 X2 to Windows 8.1. I can't seem to use the HDMI connection to display on my TV; I believe this is a driver issue, but upon following advice to reinstall the Windows 8 driver in a different forum, got an error message that I did not meet the minimum system requirements to install the driver. I'm getting a bit fed up with this whole business; can someone please send me a link to the correct video driver?

Also everytime i try to go on the Hulu app it says I dont have a updates windows.

HP Envy 15t J053CL model display problem

$

Hello there. I've been using this laptop for a few months now. So far it's been acting perfectly. But today I noticed a small spot on the screen. It's tiny but noticable and when you know it's out there it can be quite disturbing. The spot is like a small line (a few mm) but the pixels aren't dead. Instead that area is extremely bright. So when the screen is white it's like you're looking at an illuminating light source. It's not that noticable otherwise as it's small. There's nothing on the screen and I've no idea about the solution. HELP!

I have a Zbook 15  running Win7.       When I close the lid and reopen it,   display does not turn on.

To make it work,  I have to put it to sleep and then bring up again.

I have tried updating the Intel video driver from HP site.

display adapter causing bsod

hellloo

I am currently trying to fix my bsod issue with my evny dv6 64bit running windows 8 (16gb RAM, intel i7 8 cores), which has been happening since the first month I got it, for many different reasons.

Updating drivers and such has fixed a lot, but then a new error appears. At first I thought it was a RAM issue but that has so far come up clear (ran memtest for 24 hours, 8 passes no errors in fail safe mode, it crashed once when not in fail safe mode but I haven't been able to recreate it). recently I noticed that both intel HD 4000 graphics and NVIDIA are enabled, which it's apparently supposed to do. However, certain applications will run better, and without crashing, if I disable one.

For instance, the sims 3 will crash on the save game loading screen, but if I disable intel graphics, not only does the quality go waaay up, it won't crash on the loading screen. it is laggy, however.

minecraft won't play if only NVIDIA adapter is enabled. the picture won't show and it just won't respond. works if both are enabled. haven't managed to get it to crash if just intel graphics is enabled

Games are the only thing that makes the computer bluescreen. They're the only resource heavy programs I run (sometimes I use photoshop but as far as I can remember that has never resulted in bsod)

to my understanding, it's supposed to use NVIDIA for games and the such, but intel HD for everything else? is there the possibility of some kind of miscommunication going on with these adaptors to cause constant blue screens? or is the error more likely somewhere else?

Touch screen clicks on the wrong display

Today, I tried connecting an external dispay to my HP ENVY TouchSmart 15 laptop, via a USB hub, only to discover that using the touch screen points at the corresponding part of the external display rather than the inbuilt one (the displays are being extended).

Can this be changed?

I'm using the same 64-bit Windows 8 installation and drivers that the computer came with.

Graphics Driver Up-to-date?

I was wanting to check if my drivers were up-to-date on my Pavilion g7, to see if that was the graphics issue I was having with a game or if it's just simply because my laptop can't handle it.

I was told to go to my laptop company's website, but when I go under the Support tab and click on Drivers, I get nothing but a white screen — no matter how many times I hit refresh (and when I do hit refresh it doesn't try to load very long).  Is there somewhere else I can go or something else I can do to make sure my drivers are up-to-date?
