HDMI Port not connecting to HDMI TV
Hi all,
This issue seems to have just cropped up all of a sudden. I usually plug-in-and-play my laptop with my TV, and it seems to now no longer register any cable on two different TV's. I have used multiple cables also, so it's not that easy.
I have updated all drivers for my laptop, i even tried deleting the display adaptors and reinstalling them, i am now at a loss.

I'm not a techie person so I don't know what to do with my problem.
The webcam doesn't work and it never did ever since I got the laptop. I looked at the device manager and there's a "imaging device" selection there with HP true viision hd under the "imaging device" when clicked properties it was enabled. i have also reinstalled cyberlink youcam but nothing happened. it doesn't work. I've tried it on the camera on the start menu, cyberlink youcam, webcamtoy, basically any app that uses the cam but it doesn't work. The mic works well though!

hp envy 17-j053ea second display connection problems
Can anybody help please??
I purchased a hp envy 17-j053ea laptop back in February.
I use a lot of graphics programs so connecting to larger screen made sense.
The screen (DELL) I want to connect to has a VGA and DVI D connect so I brought a HDMI to vga cable but cannot seem to connect to with the laptop.
I have tried to connect it through the devices option as well as PC settings / PC and devices / Customise your device but to no avail. When I click the detect device the laptop does not find anything.
Any ideas how I can get over this hurdle?
Would buying a HDMI to DVI D cable help?

screen and mouse problems
Have pavilion ts11 e030sa laptop running win8.1.
Recently my laptop has started acting strangely. The mouse sometimes becomes uncontrollable and sticks to the bottom right and activates the date/time app. The screen has circles going on and off up and down the right side of screen .
I have updated drivers, BIOS, run antivirus, changed the shutdown to hibernate - all to no avail, although it does behave sometimes. Is it software or hardware?

G72 Laptop video dies after boot up
I have a G72 with the Radeon 5470 gpu. 2 days ago my wife received a bluescreen on Windows 7x64 stating that the video driver had stopped working. From that point on the G72 would not make it to the desktop without the screen going dead. The machine boots to safemode fine. I tried as much as I could think of to resolve this issue but eventually backed off her data and restored to factory. The problem persisted and I ended up disabling the ATI card in the control panel. The machine seemed to be working after that. I begain the long process of brining the OS up to current. About 2 sets of updates after Win 7 SP1 the problem came back. I booted to safe mode and checked the driver and discovered that it had been re-enabled. I have tried disabling it again and rebooting. Sometimes it stays disabled thru reboot but sometimes it does not. At this point the machine will go to a dark screen (not just black video but dead) after I sign on. This was happening without regard to the enable or disable status on the ATI card.
So... I attempted to do another rehang of the OS and got about half way thru. Windows setup now tries to reboot and after the machine comes up, the screen goes dead.
Any suggestions? Is there a way to disable the card in bios? Can the card be physically removed?

hp m7-j020DX
A friend of mine bought a new HP Envy m7-j020dx laptop.
The touchscreen is starting to show some problems. It flickers and turns blue, red or fuzzy. The text on the desktop is very hard to read. I tried to connect it to an external monitor using an HDMI cable. The display on the external monitor is crystal clear while the display on the LCD screen is very unbearable to the eyes. As of this writing, the display turned blue.
What should my friend do to remedy or fix this problem? The laptop was bought last November 2013 and is still within the manufacturer's warranty period.

Display driver update problems with DV6 / Win7
Hi.
I have this laptop:
HP Pavilion dv6-6137tx Entertainment Notebook PC

When I try to edit or export edited video from any video editing software it says I have an incompatible device driver and to update my video drivers.
When I try to up date them from your website I have a number of problems.
Auto scan for them says there is no new drivers.
Manually input the details and it brings up x2 updates for the video drivers.
Manually download them, SP55098.EXE won't run. Get an error saying my computer doesn't reach the minimum requirements.
Run SP55002.EXE and there is multiple failures during the install.
My computer was recently reset / new hard drive installed under extended warranty I purchased from the retailer - so any driver updates should be showing on the auto scan but it's not. Very. VERY frustrating.

Hp 1000 laptop: half bright half dim screen
my laptop hp 1000 is running windows 8.1. The problem i m experiencing is that laptop screen is split into two halfs vertically, right side being slightly brighter than the right side. Now this issue doesnt appear when i m in BIOS setup. Moreover, in windows some desktop backgrounds show this prblems while others dont. The problem is somewhat intermittent. Need help :-(

HP Pavilion DV6; Black Screen & Atikmpag.sys BSOD with external Monitor
Hello Guys.
I have HP Pavilion DV6 Core i7 with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 Graphics Card. Two weeks ago, I started getting continous Atikmpag,sys BSODs. The operating system also started giving me warnings about the hardrive. After a few days, the BSODs got more frequent. Then one day, I was doing normal stuff on my PC and the Display Driver crashed. Instead of recovering, the PC froze. I forced restart my PC but it got worse. The display of my laptop went black. I connected the laptop to external monitor which detected the display. When I tried to load the windows, it started giving me the Atikmpag.sys BSOD on the start up. Now the operating system works fine in the Safe Mode but with nothing on the laptop's screen. The soultions I have tried so far are.
-Reinstalled the windows thrice
-Removed the drivers and installed the updated ones a bunch of times.
-Rolled back the bios to an earlier version
-Removed the hardrive and tried to load it from an operating system installed on external flash drive
-Tried loading the PC with linux on external flash drive
-Opened the laptop and cleaned it thoroughly
-Removed all the components and plugged them one by one.
-Removed the old Atikmpag.sys in system32 folder and expanded it with the latest ones.
-Installed every thing fresh from HP website
None of these tricks have given me any luck yet. The only way, I could use the operating system in normal mode, is to delete the atikmpag.sys file in safe mode and then log on back in normal mode. I also analysed the minidump file through window debugger and it says that atikmpag.sys is causing this crash with the TDR message. I did all these with an external monitor as the display of the laptop is black since that day.

unable to reobtain graphic drivers
hey guys
i have a hp 2000 laptop that initially came with windows 8. i loaned my laptop to somebody and when he returned it he said that after you input the pin the screen goes black. the problem was that he tried to install a skin pack to windows 8 but it doesnt work.
i then installed windows8.1 (withoud the update) and then i realised that all my hp drivers as well as intel drivers werent working. i still have windows old folder in my hard disk and all the drivers and softaware that i had installed as well as my drivers are on there. is there a way that i can retrieve my drivers since i have tried getting them OTA but nothing is working.
i want to be able to game which i cant do now. since i had windows 8 is there a way to reaqcuire the native hp software and drivers from the windows old folder???

Laptop Screen Blank
I have an "HP ENVY TouchSmart Sleekbook 4-1115dx" laptop that is about two weeks past warranty and the screen went blank. I currently have an old crt monitor hooked up to it and everyting works fine with the machine -- just cant see the screen. Will i need to replace the entire display or can i just replace the chord/ribbon from the display thru the hinges to the main unit? Any suggestions with where I can purchase parts for this would be very helpful as well.

I have this problem of my laptop Pavillion g6. My laptop wasnt opening since I pressed the decrease in brightness button while it is still in the start up window. And every time I tried to open it, the LED on the side of the laptop is just blinking. Could anyone here try to help me? Thanks:)

HP MOVIE STORE HELP
I have an HP touchpad. I am aware it is no longer serviced. I have talked for numerous hours and sent numerous emails regarding the HP movie store with no help. I purchased numerous movies and when I go to log in it states it is no longer supported and I should be getting an email with details on how to get a refund or such if I purchased movies or other materials. I never got an email. Has anyone solved this issue. I am literally going nuts here trying to figure this out. I paid good money for those movies and they are gone. Support has no answers. Case Managers have no answers. Cooperate has no answers. HELP PLEASE

zBook Screen Brightness HotKeys
I'm building a Windows 8.1 Enterprise image for the zBook 14's we've been purchasing. I'm using the full driver pack as downloaded from the HP site, and there are no splats or other errors in device manager.
However, the function hotkeys that should control the screen brightness do not work. The other hotkeys (volume, keyboard brightness, sleep) do work.
Any idea what I'm missing?
Is the brightness control a function of the hotkey driver/software, or a function of the display driver?
