I recently brought hp pavilion 15-n204tx which comes preinstalled with ubuntu which i formated as soon as i got the laptop,when i tried installing windows 7 ultimate 64 bit i got only few drivers from hp site but was unable to install bluetooth driver showing error and nvidia graphics driver giving error graphic card could not find compatible graphics hardware..please help i have installed intel hd 4400 which is working fine..

hp hdx18 black screen of death
The screen on my old trustworthy hdx18-1103ea has started playing silly buggers, after trawling the web I see that I'm not alone.<br>I have replaced the inverter, with no improvement and have put it down to the backlight. The ol flashlight trick and an external screen both work.<br>My question is, how can I find out the exact specifics of my screen to find a suitable replacement without pulling it to bits?

I am not able to install the NVIDIA GEFORCE 840M Drivers on my notebook. I tried both the drivers on the hp drivers website for this model, and i also tried the one from nvidia website. Both give an error:
NVIDIA Installer cannot continue
This Graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware
In my device manager, it shows under 'Other Device' as '3D Video Controller'
Please help me.

Intel 3000 not recognized.
I installed the AMD CCC (Catylist Control Center) Beta 14.2 and after awhile it caused my computer to crash so I uninstalled the CCC and it deleted the intel 3000 driver and now I can't view any information about my GPU in dxdiag go to my native resolution (1366x768 stuck at 1024x768) and I tried to reinstall the intel driver but it would not install.

Photo gallery screen saver
I've set the screen saver on my new HP Pavilion 15T to photo gallery, and noticed that it's changing some of my pictures from color to B&W. This appears to be totally random. I've tried rebooting...it'll go back to color, but then later, some of the pictures will be B&W again. What's going on?

ENVY TouchSmart 15.6" Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Core i5 - 8GB Memory - 750GB Hard Drive
I am using this laptop with a Dell 24" HD display (Model S2440L, 1920 x 1080), connected via HDMI. The laptop is set to "mirror" to the second display. With my old computer (Windows XP, NVidia graphics card), everything on the desktop -- icons, text, dialogs, browser windows, program UIs, etc. -- appeared small and crisp. With the HP laptop, however, all of these are much larger and are not as crisp. All display, resolution, graphics, appearance, etc., settings are configured to be optimal. Prior to getting this laptop, I used only the Windows XP and Windows 7 operating systems. Subsequently, I'm not sure if the diferences I'm seeing with the the display are related to Windows 8.1, or with something else. Or, maybe it's because I'm used to seeing things a certain way on the display. Note that I also use a Windows 7 laptop for work, attached to a Dell S2240M HD display, and the desktop resolution is excellent.
I went back to Best Buy and asked them about it, but they said I'd have to bring both the laptop and display in for them to see what I was talking about.
Does anyone have any insight into what I might be experiencing?

When I turned on the laptop today there was a small black horizontal line on the bottom of the screen, I ignored it and turned it off and turned it back on again, this time the line got bigger and now looks like its been smudged with different colors around it. Is there anyway I could fix it myself?

blu ray disc won't play on hp pavilion g6 laptop with Windows 7 installed
Although non-Blu Ray discs play fine on my HP Pavilion laptop with Windows 7, Blu Ray discs will not. How does a computer dummy make this work?

unable to adjust display brightness
i am using hp g6 2320tx with win 8.1 update 1.. many times i have a problem regarding display brighness adjustments.
the hotkeys as well as the adjustments from control panel or mobility center does not work even if i try to do manually..
i try to reinstall hp quick launch buttons and ATI catalysts but problem remains..
please help me to sort out this problem...i am unable to sit in front of my highy brightened screen at night times..
in the attached images, the brightness adjustment bar is completely disappeared..

No Amd graphic driver is installed, or the AMD driver is not functioning properly...

I have "HP Pavilion g6 2011eu" with "AMD Radeon 7670M". Till now i used Windows 7 and I had no problems. Today I installed Windows 8.1 (64bit). I downloaded and installed all the drivers today (latest) from the HP site -driver download for that laptop. Everything seems to be but 1-2 minutes after windows starts that message blinks - "No Amd graphic driver is installed, or the AMD driver is not functioning properly...". Then I installed "HP Support Assistant" to see if there is something else to install - but nothing appeared. Then I visited the internet site of "AMD" to download the lateste drivers. I`ve tried with both - drivers for notebook and for PC, but still this error appears. The names of the files are:"14-4-mobility-win7-win8-win8.1-64-dd-ccc-whql" and"14-4-win7-win8-win8.1-64-dd-ccc-whql". I also installed "AMD Driver Downloader", to download the right drivers. And it didn`t worked. The program found and downloaded driver that I`ve installed earlier.
I`ve seen older posts, but I didn`t find anything.
Please help me solving my problem.

Green Keeps Bleeding Through Display
I have an Envy Rove 20 that i just got on the 24th of April. When I has first turned it on instead of a black screen with the HP symbol in the middle it was green. After loading, it went back to a black then continued setting up. After a while things seemed fine until I open a web browser or opened a video and noticed green lines, or streaks, in the display. I thought it would change back, but it didn't. I cant watch clear movies, look at pictures, or even web browse without the green. I tried doing color calibration and even updating my drivers, but it doesnt change.

touch screen no longer working.
Have a new HP Envy 14-k120 touchSmart ultrabook. less than a month old. Has been working to spec. However i noticed a few days ago that the touch screen is "off" or just stopped working. i looked into the computer control panel and it says the computer is not equipped with pen or touch.... this computer had touchscreen for the first month... what happened? How can i fix? i thought i might refresh/recover the computer and aside from loosing all the data i was working on, no change. The screen remains unable to be manipulated via touch??

How to bypass or repair lid switch in nw8440?
Some forum postings explain that lid switch failures are a common reason for my symptoms. An external monitor displays fine. The LCD panel is completely black, without a dim reflected display when using a flashlight. The screen did not gradually turn reddish while it was working. The problem might be a loose cable, inverter, or lid switch. I would like to try bypassing the lid switch before opening up the LCD panel.
Some forum postings explain that lid switches in some other models are connected by cables to the motherboad, so pulling the cable will make the PC think that its lid is always open. But in the nw8440 it looks like the lid switch is soldered to the motherboard, as far as I can tell.
Removing the switch cover was not as easy as shown in the manual. I broke off a hinge cover and one other locking foot, and broke a keyboard retention slider, but these don't affect functionality. The nw8440 is old enough that I'm only using it for its functionality not for the award winning appearance of its keyboard and switch cover. But I'd rather not break the bezel on the LCD panel if there's a way to bypass the lid switch and find out if maybe the inverter and cable are still working fine.

HP PAVILION G6. Blank Lit Black Screen on Start up
This is the second time this happened the first time it just fixed itself one day. Now it's been 3 weeks without my laptop.
My laptop (both times) was working fine while I was using it, suddenly the screen went black but lit. I tried restarting it. Everything sounded fine and even the keyboard lights came on, but there's no display on the screen.
Let me explain in-depth because I have yet to get an answer. I've tried holding the power button for 30 sec. to a min trick, I tried control alt delete, and I tried pressing F11. Now when I try to press F11 to get a screen, I get beeps. You know the infamous loud beeps.
I've gotten my computer fixed before (not professionally) and before these two occasions occurred my computer would blue screen when overheated.
My guess is my hard drive but it's a terrible fear because I didn't back anything up.

Device Manager won't detect high performance gpu
Hello everyone, I have had my laptop for a couple of years now. It is currently the HP Envy 17t-2100 normal edition. A while back long before this issue I had to re-install windows 7 and of course while I did download all the drivers. I was still not able to download the switchable graphics driver / program. I don't know if this is related to the issue or not.
The MAIN issue I do have however, is that my laptop no longer recognizes the high performance GPU (The AMD Radeon 6850M). I have tried installing the drivers, uninstalling, and reinstalling again. But no luck. If anybody can point me in the right direction or has an idea of what I can do I would be very gratefull!

Hp pavilion dv7 show no sigh of power only when hard drive is installed
A week ago I had problem with turning on my pavilion dv7, the hard drvie light was yellow and it turned out to be the hard drive cable ( I tested the hard drive on a diferent laptop and it worked fine).
After I replace the cable with a new one, I pressed the button but the light flashed and then nothing happened. (The battery was fully charged and the laptop was connecting to a power source).
I thought somthing was wrong with the hard drive so I replace the hard drive, still the it shows no sign of the power.
And for the record, before I replaced the bad cable, the laptop would at least light up and I can hear fan running. So I unplugged the hard drive and try to turn on the laptop and it did turn on ( of course the sreen is black and nothing's working expect the lights and fan). I was like 'on problem solved' so then I plugged on the hard drive, but the laptop just went off completly...... I plugged and unplugged the hard drive a few times more and the same thing happend. The laptop shows no sign of power ONLY WHEN HARD DRIVE IS INSTALLED.
That's rare right?
Anyway I know pretty much nothing about computers so I hope someone can come up with ideas of what's happening to my precious friend :( and of course how to fix it.

HP True Vision HD cam is not working
Hi,
I have bought HP Envy J049 on Nov. 2013. Suddenly HP True Vision HD cam is not working.
It shows a pop up message "Cyberlink you cam can not be connected" when I try to open Cyberlink you cam.
Also, if I try to start video call using SKYPE it shows "Problem with video recoding" and call can be completed even echo test is not working.
I tried updating software from device mamager but it says it is already has latest version.
Please let me know to how to solve thi problem?

AMD 6770M temperature limit problem
I have HP Pavilion dv6-6030 (LL048EA) with AMD Radeon HD 6770M graphic card.
Games(Battlefield 4, GTA 4 etc.), video playback in 4K resolution and any other hard activities (like rendering) work perfect at first 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, happening some freeze on the screen. (Freeze, I mean lag)
I found the problem's reason; Temperature of the video card is rising up to 112 C than system automaticly decrease video cards performance. (I tested with MSı Afterburner) I know, its really high value (112C) but i remember it was rising up to (approximately) 140 C when I bought this computer (2 years ago). And It did not lag 1 years ago.
Can I change max. temperature limit of video card?
Info About System:
AMD Radeon HD 6770M with AMD's last WHQL driver 14.4 (It was happening at all old drivers)
Cooler Tab with huge electric motor, under the pc.

Sudden Brightness & Brightness fluctuation
Hi,
HP 2000-2d28TU Notebook PC runnig Windows 8.1.
Having problem with brightness some times brightness gets high and low auto.
Mainly while watching movies.
Also some times after turning on Laptop from hiberation it shows high brightness and if I try to decrease brightness it doesn't show any brightness level.
My Laptop is under warranty.

hp envy m6 screen problem
Hi,
Could someone please tell me if I would be entitled to a (2nd!) replacement laptop from my warranty.
I have a refurbished hp envy m6. I purchased it in september 2013. Within three weeks I had to get a replacement, which was also a refurbishment, as it had stopped charging.
Everything had been fine with the new laptop until January 2014 when the back of the screen had started to lift off at the bottom right hand corner. It did not effect the performance of the laptop and I was not wanting to be laptop-less for another 3 weeks.
After using my laptop last night it was placed on a flat surface in the dining room overnight to charge.
Today, literally 15 minutes ago, I picked it up to use it. Upon opening the screen, I noticed straight away that there was a group of dead pixels that is roughly the size of a one pence piece. Also, when I press the screen's plastic frame nearest to where the dead pixels are, all the pixels above it turn blank and go white. The frame itself is quite flimsy and I can easily lift it up and press down (which causes the blankness in the corner to appear). I am assuming from this that there is a very small part inside the frame that is causing this affect on the screen.
It was not knocked or dropped and there are no marks to show that it has been hit without my knowledge.
Previously, it has slid off a surface onto its corner but no real damage was caused - just a wee scuff mark.
I don't have insurance on it so I will be replying on the warranty again to cover it.
Does this sound straight forward enough to get a replacement - albeit, my second one!
Any advice would be great,
