The detachable keyboard on my notebook has inexplicably stopped working! I am not an IT expert by any stretch! Can you help?
Fortunately we have another notebook exactly the same and swapping over keyboards and machines I have been able to rule out a mechanical failure of the keyboard.
I have noticed that there is no cursor on the screen at all.
I use a stable wireless internet connection and the notebook is up-to-date on Windows 10 (v1803 OS build 17134.523). The other notebook is on the same version and build and the keyboard is working fine.
The computer works fine with the on-screen keyboard (in both computer and tablet mode) and I have used a USB keyboard with it and it also works fine with that.
I read that it could be the keyboard driver. I have used the HP website to download a driver but it is has had no effect. NB I was not able to use the most recent driver as the computer kept giving an error message along the lines of "can't unpack, faulty file".
Your thoughts and practical steps to resolve would be really appreciated!
