Hi,

 

The detachable keyboard on my notebook has inexplicably stopped working! I am not an IT expert by any stretch! Can you help?

 

Fortunately we have another notebook exactly the same and swapping over keyboards and machines I have been able to rule out a mechanical failure of the keyboard.

 

I have noticed that there is no cursor on the screen at all.

 

I use a stable wireless internet connection and the notebook is up-to-date on Windows 10 (v1803 OS build 17134.523). The other notebook is on the same version and build and the keyboard is working fine.

 

The computer works fine with the on-screen keyboard (in both computer and tablet mode) and I have used a USB keyboard with it and it also works fine with that.

 

I read that it could be the keyboard driver. I have used the HP website to download a driver but it is has had no effect. NB I was not able to use the most recent driver as the computer kept giving an error message along the lines of "can't unpack, faulty file".

 

Your thoughts and practical steps to resolve would be really appreciated!

I purchased this computer back in November, and the touchscreen stopped working.  I returned it and ordered a new one.  Today I received the new computer, and once again the touch screen is not working.  I have done all the updates, and tried to run the hardware diagnostics tool, but I am not sure which test to run, as there is no mention of touchscreens in the program.  This is very frustrating to me, as I loved the touchscreen ability, and really like this computer compared to other ones that are currently available.

Reposting because the previous topic was locked.

 

I see this is a common issue with HP omen laptops, what is the fix for this? some days it goes back to 60fps then it goes back to 6-10fps. I dont even understand if it is a software issue My CPU is hardly working, my GPU reachs 80% while CPU is like 2% which makes no sense. I just got this last year.

• 4-5 months. Once in a while it would run smooth.
• Not really.
• There have been a couple so i cannot really tell if it is linked to it or not.

Even though the keys are backlit I can barely see the letters, numbers and other designation on keys. I usually need to shine a light on the keys from above them to periodically check where what is. Help!!!

I'm looking for an active stylus pen that will work to take notes on my laptop. I've looked at the Hp active stylus pen document and that didn't help and I've gotten conflicting information about those pens anyway. I can't even find my specific model name. All I get from system information is "Hp envy x360 convertible" and the product number "x0529ua#aba". I don't need the pen to do anything fancy like art I just need to be able to write while my hand is on the screen.

after trying to remover everything and making a restore it stuck at 1% for hours then i maked a hard reset to escape the situation after that I tried to make the recovery three times but it failed then the laptop power lighting up also the wifi light "orange" and nothing happened then I can't access or see anything in the screen also I tried to light up the Capsloock light on keyboard and it seems also not responding

Any advice would be so helpful and thinks in advance

I bought an HP Envy x360 2-in-1 recently and I have opened it only a few times and when I opened it this evening I saw a crack that starts at the bottom left hinge and works its way across the screen. The crack is also affecting the touchscreen functionality and so I can't do anything with the laptop right now. I called customer support who say that because it is not a technical problem I will be charged to have it fixed. I have been using this laptop for less than 30 days and I am shocked because nothing has happened to it and it has a protective case, and this seems to be a common issue with this line.  Is there anything I can do or someone I can speak to to resolve this?

I am trying to connect two lcd tv's to my laptop. I connected one tv with HDMI and the other with VGA. (both tv's have hdmi, vga and USB ports). The objective is to use the Tv's as extended display. Either one tv and laptop shows display or both tv's shows display and the laptop doesn't. My laptop has got 3 usb (2.0 version i suppose) ports, 1 HDMI, 1 VGA and one card reader. The operating system is windows 10 (64bit). The graphics card is Intel(R) HD graphics 4000. I do not want to mirror the screen. WIll hdmi or vga splitter help to extend the screen. I am looking for three displays running simultaneously and independent of each other.

I have brought a Hp 17-an064tx almost one year. However not only I wtch the video but alos I play the higtest refresh rate is 60hz. This computer have a G sync screen, it could achieve 144hz. I have see the screen detail form Nvidia control panel. It told me G sync capable, but under the refresh rate there onle 3 option,60,50,48hz. I do not know how can I solve this problem.

After I have installed the display driver sp85673 there is an mistake shown in the device manager.

If I try to actualize the display driver I am told, the best driver is installed. Why then the exclamation mark?

Which driver have I to use?

I have just tried to close my laptop and discovered that while doing so, the laptop comes apart on the left hand side. It has not been dropped or otherwise damaged.

Hello

I received a message via HP Support Assistant that an update needed to be loaded:

Intel High Definition (HD) Graphics Driver

I have attempted to update several times but the log shows the update failed to install.

I am not, in any way, a techie but assume the message would not have arrived had my machine been unsuitable.

I attach a screen shot and would be extremely grateful for any advice.

Hello,

 

I have recent problems with this notebook. Untill now it was working propperly but few days ago my external monitor just went blank and stopped detecting any signal via cable. 

This notebook have HDMI and VGA port - I tried both of them and also tried different monitor but no luck so far. 

 

When I open display settings I'm not able to see or identificate any seconday display. 

 

Allready tried to update Win to lastest update and update notebook with HP support center. No luck so far.

 

Can you please help me?

suddenly my display strat flickering 

only the internal one - flickered for about an hours

now it stopped.

now it is ok but what could have caused it? should i take it to hp to be inspected?

 

ok. update - very strange - 

if i open chrome - flickering stops.

First of all, I'm not sure if I have put this on the right board and if not I apologize

 

But to the issue, I have tried googling but I cannot for the life of me find someone with the same problem.

I have an HP ProBook 430 G3 and I think it is around 2,5 years old. Recently I have noticed that my brightness doesn't go under 50%. It doesn't matter if I change it manually or with the button that changes 100/75/50/25/0 %, from 0 to around 50 the brightness stays the same.

I have tried changing the brightness schedule or whatever it's called, but haven't had any luck. I'm not the best at computers so I'm a bit lost.

Anyone that knows about this problem and knows what I can do?
